Really enjoyed the parting scenes we got before leaving the First. Suitably emotional, I'll miss a lot of these characters. So many charming moments. Here's a few of my favorites;

I'd say ShB is a close second favorite expansion, hope Endwalker is gonna be a good when we finish the post-expac stuff. Pretty excited to see where the stuff in Garlemald is going.

Which is 5 (minimum) types of FUCKING RETARDED
Job design during levelling needs a look at in general tbh. My general view is that job progression should follow this general formula with a few milestones
  • Level 15: Every job has at least one single-target and one AOE ability
  • Level 30: Jobs should now expect you to be able to do a basic combo, or understand a very basic "push button, then this button" level of complexity on a job
  • Level 50: Jobs should be "basic-level complete". You may not have access to specific class features yet, but there's nothing in your kit that feels half-implemented (like Endwalker NIN not having Armor Crush until after level 50). Also, specifically highlighting this one: Every tank should have gap-closers by level 50.
  • Level 70: Jobs should be "complete" design-wise. You'll obviously still get abilities past this point but key mechanics like RPR enshroud should be available in a basic form by level 70.
The breakpoints line up with when you get access to stuff. Level 15 gives you the first dungeon, level 30 is the first time your class becomes a job, level 50 is when you first get access to high-end content (as well as full access to duty finder), and level 70 is when you can first access an Ultimate.

Level 70 is the big one I'd want them to hit though. Cause Ultimates are always synced and still run to this day. So it's a lot more important than making sure balance is good for content that's pretty dead now, like old Savage tiers or synced ARR extremes.

I'd say ShB is a close second favorite expansion, hope Endwalker is gonna be a good when we finish the post-expac stuff. Pretty excited to see where the stuff in Garlemald is going.
Endwalker's honestly real good too. Shadowbringers is maybe better, but I think Endwalker holds up. Just get ready for the car crash afterwards.

basic form by level 70.
Also level 60 for Palace. Around 10% of FFXIVCollect's tracked players have cleared floor 200 in a party, compared to the 12% for UWU, 7.3% for UCoB, and 8.6% for TEA.

Viper currently has to wait till 65 for Vicewinder (Reaper gets Soul Slice at level 60, though Reaper has to wait till 70 for Gibbet/Gallows), 75 for Twinblood/Twinfang (Not a 1 to 1 equivalent, but Reaper gets Blood Stalk at level 50), 82 for Serpent's Coil (This is the same level as Soulsow/Harvest Moon), and 90 for Reawaken (Reaper gets Enshroud at 80), 96 for Ouroboros (Reaper gets Communio at 90), and 100 for Legacies (Reaper gets Lemure's Slice at level 86 and Sacrificium at level 92) during it.
I'd rebalance Viper by moving Death Rattle/Last Lash up by 20 levels, Vicewinder/Vicepit down by 10 with 1 charge, giving it 2 at 78, and moving Twinfang/Twinblood down by 10 levels, as well as pushing Reawaken down to 80 with just First and Second Generation.

Pictomancer already has Creature and Weapon Motif before level 60, gets Subtractive Palette at 60, and then has to wait till 70 for Landscape Motif, and 80 for Holy in White. It gets Rainbow Drip and Star Prism later, but those don't feel vital to playing the job in the same way that any of Viper's kit does.

So I've got a topic to ask about; which jobs tend to attract the "worst" kinds of players?

I mean, we all know how FFXIV's races tend to attract different types of players; Au Ra and Hrothgar players tend to be freaks, for instance. However, I'm curious what everyone thinks about jobs; do certain jobs attract freaks, or what kind of players tend to be fixated on what kinds of jobs? I've heard Dark Knights tend to be Reddit Atheists; any ideas?

This tracks, I had a DK in a party once who started making snarky comments about the in-game gods while we waited for someone to finish a cutscene. Because, hey, in a fantasy game with magic and elves and shit its religion that can't be given any suspension of disbelief.

Almost all Dancers I've ever played with in party finder have been ERPing retards. All of them suck at playing the game and will consistently fuck up mechanics over and over despite having a very easy rotation and not having to worry about being in melee distance or cast timers.

White Mages in DF are usually dogshit.
Pictomancers are more likely to be shit than other jobs because "lol highest dps", just like black mages used to be.
Samurais usually greed too much to get Third Eye procs and will probably die.

religion that can't be given any suspension of disbelief.
yeah uh about that
don't do the endwalker alliance raids

Pretty much the only thing Dancers need to worry about in high-end content is "Delay Standard Step by 2 GCDs during Garuda (UWU) or you fuck us up"

Dancer is one of the main ones due to how piss easy it is, other than that i have not seen any job stereotypes besides DRKs who sperg too much about the glam and the "glory days" of HW DRK, i havent caught many of the reddit atheist types

No, I get the whole "the twelve are primals" thing. I dig that. It's way more interesting than them being straight up gods.

This guy was like... sperging over the fact Alphinaud used the phrase "by the twelve" and how as a Sharlayan "man of science" he should know better and it's somehow terrible writing for him to have used a colloquial phrase that references religion. Dude was straight up one fedora short of being a reddit mod.

Huuuuh? It's just the high fantasy equivalent of "Oh my God." How do you get bent out of shape over that? Even if you find out that your concept of a "god" was just a primal, the existence of those beings and *fucking magic* would make it real hard to be an atheist.

make it real hard to be an atheist.
Atheists still exist in worlds where gods exist but they're usually better described as irreligious.
You can't deny that the gods exist, you just don't think they're worthy of worship.

True atheists are about as rare as flat-earthers (Or other funny conspiratiods like the people who don't think Finland exists) and get ridiculed just as much.

Imagine being such a spastic that you forget that Sharlayan worships Thaliak, to the point that they even have a giant fucking statue of him on the island entrance. Then again knowing the kind of people who play this he didn't quite forget, he never paid attention because reading is hard.

Shit, did that nigger even play the DRK quests? Fray learns conjury, his name is quite literally "friar" in spanish and he (like literally every single DRK) shares the idea of being a wanderer who helps the downtrodden just like friars do.

Militant atheists are fucking cringe.

I just have PLD left to level and then I can start on my crafters.
Meanwhile japanese msq is pretty cool. Wuk is still annoying but at least her performance is good. Sphene is still an insufferable cunt too.
When I realized the difference was very minimal, I just started speed running through MSQ on my alt.

In fantasy settings, it's more crazy to not believe in a higher power than it is to believe in one. Sure, a large amount of magic could be explained by "it's just a different universe's laws of physics and is still scientific", but certain stuff such as the existence of the Echo clearly seems like a divine intervention.

White Mages in DF are usually dogshit.
It's cause it's a starter class. So the usage rates are higher and also filled with people who play a single job badly because the idea of learning a second job to them is too much.

If you keep seeing Freecure procs at later levels, be very worried.
