I think it was probably involved with the timing for when it was recorded. My guess is this was happening during the huge covid gap from 5.2 to 5.3 since there's no songs from 5.3 onward and Jason Miller was probably able to record his version of Shadowbringers before lockdown started. I know they had to have him record To the Edge in his own studio which probably made it more complicated on top their normal stuff. Knowing Soken and his habits he'd probably put The Black Wolf Stalks Again in the album since he really liked writing that song and it's asking for a primals version bad.

I don't like the new armor.
I'm sure it's to someone's tastes though. I'm dreading it a bit more as I realize I'll be seeing not only more skimpy female glamours, but male glamours as well.

I hate to break it to you, but considering the next expac is gonna be using Thavnair as a main area you can bet your bottom dollar the revealing middle eastern glams are gonna be the norm. Probably the token gear like how Ronkan was for 5.0.
Also congrats to the XIV team for actually having a headpiece for both Viera and Hrothgar. It's almost as if they forgot about those two races for the whole expac or something /sneed

I like it, I've been kind of tired of the "formal" wear a lot of the armors in this game have been sporting. Time for something more primal.

Just AFK any time you don't actually have to play the game.
It's what I do whenever I run Main Scenario roulette.
I figure maybe the levelling gear will be in that vein, along with Garlean-inspired gear, and who knows what else leading into the final Main Story encounter. I would also bet moreso that the initial sets of token gear would be more or less in line with either Job relic gear or whatever the theme for the final area of the game is.
But really, it's all a guessing game until the expac finally comes out.
"Primal" gear's alright and all, I just tend to prefer something that actually looks like armor for Tanks, even if it goes a little bit too "high fantasy" with it like the Edengate fending set. Warriors could probably use more "tribal" looking gear, definitely. I just hate the notion that most of those themed sets are going to be used by people specifically because they show the most skin.

Meh, I don't really have a problem with that. I'd rather see skimpy outfits than baras and kitty catgirls who look like teens wearing bras and tighty whities. At least that's what I see on my end...

It just looks like a few metal pieces. So same old, same old. They probably just chose a viera for that particular set because that's probably the only helmet we can actually wear out of everything else.

I'm pretty sure the tank gear is the armour on the far left, which does actually look like armour, at least. And with how many sets in this expac have been for victorian theming (arguably both the eden sets and the yorha sets), a harsh jump away is pretty appreciated.
As for the headpieces, it looks like they're modelled after Amal'jaa themselves, which is a fair choice.

I'm assuming the new armor pictures are from the upcoming Bozjan shit. I got mixed feelings about it, but as others said in this thread, I'm sure we'll be overrun by womenz characters rocking out additional Thavnarian gear. I'm more curious to see what he next 24 man Nier gear will look like. I'm assuming it's going to be additional armor directly from the game. We still got the combat drop armor from Nier Automata which was kewl. Maybe they'll throw in shit from the first Nier game.

Nah, the new gear is from the new Amalja themed dungeon that'll be released this upcoming patch.

Maybe it's just me, but dungeon gear seemed to look better than other patches overall. The Heroes Gauntlet had some nice looking stuff for glamor if you were into the edgelord look, I know I rocked the tank gear glamor a good bit as a dark knight.
Not terribly impressed with the new dungeon gear showcased above but it looks a bit better than the other shit that's been presented over the years.
