Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I lurk this thread on occasion and I'm a bit curious now, as an outsider looking in. With all this RP stuff, I'm surprised the game's modding scene has gotten this ridiculous.

Was cross-world and cross-data center travel an event that completely atomized this game's community? I used to hear back in the 2010's that any given server would have a some kind of sense of who you are if you're from there, but I don't hear much about a sense of community or familiarity outside of linkshells or guilds anymore.

Cross DC and server travel completely destroyed any sort of identity servers or DCs had because now anyone from any server could go anywhere and shit up wherever they decided to go to.

Back then all the degens were quarantined to Balmung hence the stereotype that if you're from Balmung you're some type of freak or part of the alphabet cult.

Even japanese servers are getting shit up by weirdo americans to the point where the japs got pissed off and openly told americans to stay the fuck out. They already had tonberry, they didn't need fart sniffers from the NA servers to go over there and be annoying too and you know how the alphabet cult is. The real reason they go over there is to try and spread their Godless beliefs and cultural appropriation by telling the japs how they should always feel and think about social issues. The japs treat americans over there like we're the fucking plague and with good reason too.

I'd consider installing Mare if blacklists were infinite and I could just make all the users disappear from my game forever. But they haven't, so I will stay as ignorant as I can.

Fitting that the undesirable coomers and varied other shitstains that deserve to be turned into fertilizer use "Sea of Laments" as their code to identify each other.

Yes, 100%.
And for the longest time it was made worse by this games dogshit block system. You were physically unable to block people from other servers for the longest time, despite them being able to visit. There's some horror stories about stalkers and people harrassing them in this game and it's well deserved, even if it's caused by petty drama and infighting, when the game had a block function that didn't even work on a core level, it was a recipe for disaster.
Linkshells are dead, discord killed them.
FC's (the Guilds) are dead, lack of meaningful group content killed them and cross server made putting down roots in a community pointless.

"Dead" In the sense they still exist, but they serve literally zero practical use so outside some friends making a guild together to vibe together with a tag or a roleplay event wanting to share a house, there's nothing. Airships are not really group content anymore and are used by some people (hello) in one man FC's to passively farm millions of gil a week. it benefits one person only.

Edit: Oh and also dont forget crafting. Since you could just hop to another server to use their market, crafting communities died overnight and are to this day, bot dominated. Doing it is pointless. You can earn some gil, but you will never make as much as the bot factories. I hear people tell others to craft for money all the time, but it's old outdated information. It's more of a pyramid scheme. You will earn pennies, they will make hundreds of millions.

It's more than that. Tonberry and Kujata are the dumping grounds for Americans, Aussies, Kiwis, Southeast Asians and (may Allah forgive me for uttering this word) Koreans.

Japanese players don't really want to deal with that shit. It'd be like if you were walking around Limsa and all you saw on /say and /shout was "huehuehue jajajaja" because you're the unofficial Brazil server now.

People who would over sexualize lalafell are exactly the type of people I know would play this game. Futa? Okay fine. Cartoonishly large cocks and tits on people? Whatever.

But on a lalafell? That ain't it.
...As funny as it is to imagine Lala's with tits reaching down to their waistline or dongs and scrotums large enough they could bounce around on it like a skippyball, it doesn't outweigh the sense of disgust I'd feel considering the reason as to why.

They have childish bodies for a reason. Just let me play my retarded midget character in peace.

The only races I'd say aren't attractive at all would be Lalafell (for obvious reasons) and Hrothgar women.
I play as a hrothgar woman now and I'm no longer attractive.

THANK FUCKING GOD.

Friendly reminder for lurkers and newcomers. Despite the title of the thread, we dont have a FC. Reasons being that:
>We would be targetted by alphabet people.
>We hate eachother.
>We would eat a ban faster than Null on twitter.
>We are too strong for ff14 to handle our collective autism.

I used Mare for a day, saw a Hroth with a massive dong out, uninstalled and never looked back. I'm good.

Also to be clear, I was joking about the kiwi static, especially now that I know half this thread plays lalafel.

End of week 1. M1S and M2S are down, with M3S ready for a clear (enraged on like, 1.8%). I'd hoped to get the M3S clear, but our melees who were in enrage groups did not know how to ride the knockback properly and kept hitting the wall.

This tier seems cool, but for anyone planning to prog it, beware of Honey B Lovely.
M2S is going to be a bit of a menace until the gear makes the fight easier. PF is just really bad at this fight in particular. And too many mistakes during Honey B Live phase will cause pretty much guarantee an enrage.

Aren’t there a lot of stories of people trying to groom lalafell players in this game? It doesn’t really shock me. Nonces love to do virtual noncery, and they also love FFXIV.

We lalas get approached by degens even more so if we are in casual attire(i like to dress my lala casually when im not doing dungeons and im leveling life skills) and it gets worse if you go to a server where is roe play focus and you just get bombarded with invites and dms. My experiences with such led me to the point of deleting the character just because of the annoyances.

Smile reminds me of that song in the Garbage Pail Kids movie when they're setting up their train to blow up.

Glad I didn't go Lala.
