Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

One of the VAs for Honkai Star Rail discussed some of their contract and yeah, it's just gig work. The VA's agency gets a call from the studio asking them to record for X hours, and that's it. There's no real job security other than trying to get as many roles as possible.

Apologize for the aside but speaking of VA work I remember people talking about Aymeric not appearing as much anymore and I heard that his Japanese VA was in an adultery scandal recently. Considering how Japan takes voice acting as a job very seriously could that be why he hasn’t really gotten any attention like he used to? I wonder how they will handle that if we get more voiced lines of the city state leaders in the future. Also some people speculate that Yugiri got phased out of the plot because of the murder of her original English VA. While did she get recast in English Japan apparently isn’t too hot on replacing VA’s shortly after their death.

I dunno, Grinding Gears keep collaborating with him (along with Girl_DM and Jocat) for streams. Preach's fat lefty editor Chris made a cringy Cowboy Bepop parody FT Sena. SOME people in this community (or more accurately some of the grifters) want to keep associating with him for whatever reason

Eventually the game is going to have to realize that just because I am capable of clearing an extreme 99 times, it doesn’t mean that I want to win the mount in clear like 97. It happened with sphene (okay like clear 49 because it’s two totems each run) and it’s happened with Zellenia

Lmao, I also won the mount on like clear 98. I rolled anyway because I'm not waiting 6 months to buy it.

When I’m in PF I never tell anyone my totem count lol. It’s always “not a lot” and then I leave with like hundreds of them and the mount. Wild West baby

Thank God I'm almost done with crafting my tank gear. The headpiece for some reason was just the most cursed thing on the planet to make. Wasted at least 2-3 crafts worth of materials failing to realize one of my commands had an extra space so it never actually activated. Wasted another one misclicking a pre-craft macro. Karma for being up all night I guess

Edit: Only the Ceremonial Bardiche left to go and I can focus on the combat meals and potions fucking finally

I do not think there is enough evidence to say one way or another. The only other case I am aware of is Takahiro Sakurai (voice of Cloud from FF7R), who was accused of adultery in 2022. After that his output fell to a drizzle. He continues to voice Crow in the latest Trails game (though admittedly Falcom has been doing strange stuff with their voice casting recently) and Lucio in Granblue Fantasy, and ofcourse Cloud in FF7 Rebirth. Tatsuhisa Suzuki's output has likewise fallen but he still did voice acting as Aglovale in Granblue Fantasy since then. I don't think the voice acting thing had anything to do with why Aymeric doesn't appear anymore. FF14 has a habit of leaving local nation characters behind and rarely revisiting them, and if they do come back it is usually in an unvoiced cutscene. As for Yugiri, I don't think the Japanese care too much about foreigner gajin dubbers, and they were fine to recast Eugen in GBF and Haku in Utawarerumono as different voice actors when Keiji Fujiwara died.

The Japanese VA from Runar got cancelled from the entire industry for non disclosed reasons, so we probably won't hear from him again outside of "Oh welcome Master Matoya, good to see you!" in text, sinking that weird ship even further, since Japanese are stupidly anal about that kind of stuff. Also, Papalymo got popped because the CBU3 had some differences with the VA I believe.

They do replace foreign talent. Matoya's (the one from the source) English VA,Sheila Steafel, died and they recast her at the end of ShB for Matoya's Relic. The EN team even gave the late VA a shoutout via her pupil Y'shtola by adding this to the dialogue in that patch:

Very cute and pretty based, Y'shtola's VA was friends with Sheila I think. If I didn't read up on it I wouldn't have guessed there was a change, the new VA does a great job.

Yeah it happened end of 2024.
On September 22, 2024, I'M Enterprises announced that it had canceled its management contract as of September 14, 2024, due to an "acknowledged serious breach of contract." The agency added that Yamamoto is no longer working in the entertainment industry.

Dunno how I feel about OC.
It's basically Eureka/Bozja and not exactly happy about the long grind that's heavily based on how active the content is.

I'm one of the few people who wasn't really thrilled about obnoxiously grindy content, but people asked for it.
I'm too employed for this.

Very grindy, but the CEs are good entertainment if you have a party to roll with. If you enjoyed Bozja you'll like this; If you didn't enjoy Bozja, it can be skipped. Fun lore tidbits about Nym/Mhach/Amdapor hiding further in I hear if you like that sort of thing.
