I have waited 3 hours for EW trials before while leveling an alt. Yes, it does get very annoying.
It seems like an easy fix would be to make MSQ roulette just toss you into queue for every mandatory dungeon and trial and you can do it 3x a day to collect the leveling, trial and MSQ daily rewards. Everyone has Gaius' monologue memorized now I think it's safe to move on.
I don't think there's a "wrong" approach per se but converting Prae and Castrum into solo duties (like Cape Westwind was) would go a long way. You can remove MSQ Roulette and just spilt the rewards into Leveling Roulette and Trial Roulette (Trial Roulette being not worth doing at the moment). I would do the following if I was in charge.
Remove - MSQDR, "High Level" Roulette, Level Cap Roulette, Trials Roulette, Guildhest Roulette, Normal Raid, Alliance Raid,
- EXDR (unchanged, maybe have it be the last 3 dungeons instead of last 2)
- Raid Roulette (combined 'Raid Roulette' and 'Alliance Raid Roulette' - combined rewards but one queue)
- Leveling Roulette, or 'Essential Roulette' (contains
only dungeons and trials in the MSQ, base rewards + 1/2 of the rewards from the now deleted MSQDR)
- Extra Roulette (contains unlocked dungeons and trials not required by MSQ, base levels only, combined rewards from Trials Roulette and High Level Dungeon roulette. Also contains the ~2 orphaned dungeons from Level Cap that get shuffled out of EXDR
- Mentor Roulette (unchanged but should prioritize sprouts in the system).
Less roulettes, better rewards and more fun per time spent is the way to go. MSQ roulette is the worst because you spend so much time of it either actively not playing the game or doing sloggish unfun boss fights that pose no threat or challenge.
