I recently upgraded my computer and like a total idiot I saw the GeForce recommend optimal settings and opted into them. When loading ffxiv the game tank to barely 30fps levels from previously having over 60 and of course defaulting back didn’t fix it. So now my boomer ass is reinstalling the game

Could you not just manually change your framerate to 60 or uncapped in the game's video settings?

That's odd. I used GeForce optimal settings for my client and it works like a charm. I haven't had any issues. You have all drivers up to date, right?

Updating drivers is what first brought my attention to GeForce optimal settings to begin with. This is the only PC game I've played aside from Diablo II so I don't know much about things aside from flipping switches and pushing buttons.

Legit, my first FC fell apart because of both reasons, more or less. Soyboys who didn't want to take care of business because it would make a few people upset, and at least one woman who manipulated her way into authority and then had a grudge for me because I didn't want to fuck her crazy, thirsty, middle-aged woman ass.

The issue with soyboys isn't just that they don't want to make people upset, it's also that they'll try to simp for women really hard. But if you try to tell the simp to fuck off, you're being a white knight. You have this mountain of simps competing for some girl's attention. There's a handful of cases in the raid scene where guys try to impress a girl with their fflogs (I wish I was making this shit up), and then they get into a psychotic breakdown when the girl inevitably leaves them for another dude.

I have women in my raid group, and it was difficult finding guys that weren't going to be complete spergs over them. You get guys that are convinced they'll get to woo the girl, get in a relationship with her, and fuck her. That's the XIV dream (sex does feel good, but I'm not sure if it does with XIV women, maybe it's really awful)! Reality is, the girl probably lives 3 states away from you, you're not going to get to fuck her, it's not happening.

About two raid tiers ago, we had this guy who would whine about how "Chad keeps having all the women" and "I have to hold frame and pass womens' shit tests", he would bring it up during raid. It was the most obnoxious shit. I don't want to deal with your whiny red pill ass in my raid. I want to play the video game, not play therapist or subject other raid members to this shit, when they also probably just want to play the video game.

You don't want to meet XIV women (XIV people in general really) IRL especially if they're not well adjusted and you haven't known them long enough.

I can say that I've had interest from women in FCs before, and it never ended well. Always ended up with kindergarten shit like some dude telling the girl that I'm an awful person because they want to date her.

One girl in particular ended up having my address due to me being a dumbass and sending her something through the mail for her birthday. When I told her to fuck off and cut her off, I got creepy letters for months in my mail IRL.

Bal is pretty degenerate but you can at least find ways to avoid the general degenerate behavior and work around it. Mainly staying away from hub areas. I also made a tab in my chat where I got rid of shout, yell, and say chat. So when I go to high traffic areas, my chat box isn't saturated with retarded conversations and degenerate shit. So while Balmung is still terrible, you can make it work.

Pf on the other hand...? That's a big yikes.

I had a few friends that played here and there that I could breeze through most of the normal, easy content with -- but the absolute instant that supply got exhausted, I felt compelled to let the sub lapse. Doing anything above basic either involves lucking your way into a solid group of people who aren't insane, or slamming your head into a wall with the bizarre, intolerable bulk of people. I meaningfully interacted with maybe two people I didn't already know on the whole of the trip from start to endgame that weren't annoying.

Truth be told, though, I'm finding this to be true across MMOs in general. FF14's got a specific, particular flair of faggotry, but on the whole I can't seem to find an MMO where people aren't pent-up spergs taking out their self-loathing on whatever poor fucks happen to share their same server group. It feels like those speds have always existed, sure, but they'd stick to their little hovels and the people playing uWu;;; second life would stick to their little corners, and you could find a relaxed-enough group of adults more interested in having fun than in trying to get some internet puss. Were they all just driven off by the loonies everywhere? Should I retire to my fate of being an old man waving at the clouds, complaining about how things were better before a bunch of faggots beating it to futa porn decided to ruin everything from the comfort of their wife's boyfriend's basement?

I guess the bright spot about this game, at least, is that it'd be fun to throw on the sub for a week, re-play some of the content 'till boredom sets in, and then flip it off.

The only time I've ever been hit on in a game is in FF14, and always by other women; they always think I'm a guy. I've always gotten that because of how I present myself through text, apparently, but in MMOs I may as well be mute.

Yeah it feels like I can't play any mainstream MMO at the moment because there's always that one major thing that either pisses me off or insults the previous establishments that the mmos are built off of and therefor almost ruins them. WoW's case it's the devs and gameplay, ESO is the narrative and lore, and FFXIV is the community. Like the community is so bad I don't want to play it anymore and resub to WoW just to give them the middle finger. Hell I'll even write "fuck hong kong" just to rub more salt in their wounds because, to be well honest, they don't care enough to put a stop to Joe biden's presidency to prevent China from doing more damage.

You have to find people to play with on your own and not be beholden to people running the community. It used to be the case that you could straight up call these people retards in the video game, but game companies decided to turn their games into a hugbox, so you're incentivized to go towards these third party communities ran by crazies. In that situation, they hold the power of what you can or cannot say, and they'll hold you up to it in-game by abusing the ToS in their favor.

These spergs have existed as far as I can remember. They were on /v/ and /jp/, and they produced a constant stream of self-loathing, "that feel when no gf" and "ronery threads". Adults don't go on discord to post porn in NSFW channels and beg other people to do sexual things to them.

Hello fellow lalafell. I've either had women show interest in me, or it's these "lalafell masterrace" linkshells and discords. I'm ierdibly self-conscious about my accent which has always led me to stay away from vc in the parties I've been in which leads to not being able to socialize with the other members as well.
