A few twitterers calling for North America to have a public banlist. Can't say I'm keen on the NA community having a banlist when they'd probably put you on there because of all the isms and obics, and foremost because they just don't like you.

I don't know what's funnier. How obsessed the community is with this guy, or how a bunch of people calling him out are sex pests:

Okay, I admit this Morgana guy chimping out super hard and throwing a tantrum like a child is funny but if all this happened in discord, couldn't the person just..you know, block them?

Then putting his sped behavior on display for other people to chimp out on the chimp is kind of an unsportsman like thing to do and it does not make you look any better. If the guy was a piece of shit, just tell him why you had to remove him and if he harasses you and calls you names, the simple thing to do is to tell the guy you have to block him because the conversation is going nowhere and at that point it's a waste for both sides. I don't think you need a public ban list. If he's this bad, him getting kicked out of group after group after group will be enough to get the message across that he doesn't work well with anyone.

You gatta love it when people in the already shitty community go out of their way to make it look even worse in their stupid attempts to try and be a champion of the people. It's a nice idea in concept but people are just going to get a hold of it and abuse it to slap on people there for the reasons you mentioned. Moral of the story is that everyone is shit in their own, unique shitty way.

Much like the deranged people from other communities want to look like heroes. XIV players can't let go. There was an affair a while back with the Balance where they stalked one specific player to make memes out of them.

These players constantly proclaim that if you don't parse in the top percentile, you're garbage. But why do you care about these people when you choose who you play with in a game where you play against the computer? If you disagree with them, you're a toxic casual. They're the heroes of their own little stories.

You get similar grandstanding and weirdness from the alphabet soup community in XIV.

Maybe I'm too old, and I have a weird skew on MMORPGs where/when the community aspect of MMOs wasn't as bad. But nowadays it just feels better to stick with very few people to shoot the shit.

That's the best way to play most MMOs nowadays. Majority of them are discord kids that live on Twitter, looking for ways to be a "celeb" in a video game with the gaming company full of California freaks that promote shitty behavior. I hang with a handful of people and we've all met a couple of times IRL to do activates together like PAX West or other cons. Other people I play with are for raiding only, in a static, and they play well but all tend to be nasty to people in the game for the dumbest shit in roulettes.

Was hoping that it would drop slightly later. This is probably the most obnoxious time to drop a raid patch, notably students having finals.

Of course it also has to drop around the same time WoW raids drop. Can never play both.

As a free trial noob who hasn't been playing that much lately, the main thing I'm getting out of this is that I need to get my ass back to farming yokai medals ASAP. At the very least for classes that I plan on playing like ninja.

I like that most of the Yorha raid hats work on Viera, but please Square just give me a big red hat for my red mage. Viera red mages in Final Fantasy Tactics were fuckin' lit.

i think titan unreal is gonna be the first one i'm going to do seriously. i couldn't do shiva because i was carried through it back when it was relevant. :'( it's gonna be fun seeing people try to cheese titan.

Titan has been confirmed for the next Unreal?

Oh lord. Titan EX was my very first taste of the WALL way, way back in the 2.0 days. He's the one who taught me to love the struggle (and hate the general incompetence of the vast majority of the playerbase).

I think I'm ready to suffer all over again.

aw yes time for day one crafted gear to completely outshine gear people spend months farming for again... still think day one crafted gear should be purely for catch up and not completely outdo gear that takes forever to get.

gotta appease that hard core raiding scene though.

yup it was confirmed. https://novacrystallis.com/2020/11/...ry-patch-5-4-out-december-8-trailer-released/ they have a summery of all that's coming out so far for 5.4 and a bit for 5.45

i think titan was my first savage content as well, i did it on drg too which was awful because that platform was so tiny. also didn't help that no one seemed to understand stacking tightly in the middle to bait the puddles.

The hardcore raid scene doesn't want crafted gear to invalidate their Ultimate Weapon / BiS gear when a new raid tier comes out though. Gonna clear unreal Titan once then never step foot into it again like I did with Shiva and I'm hoping this raid tier has some neat moments.

My favorite thing here is, nobody even knows how to do Titan EX properly RIGHT NOW and I've had parties near-wipe to it both synced and unsynced.

I'm imagining how much worse it will be when the big man's scaled up for 80s and I just couldn't be more excited to watch people eat shit.
