The people who pug and retain their mental sanity are the most terrifying people on NA. After being with a static proper since 5.0 I don't think I could go back that lifestyle for savage, extreme maybe, savage nope. People were eating shit on E5S when the goals were first 14 prog, lmao.

We're posting on the farms, I don't think we're exactly sane in here. I've done too much NA PF but fortunately I don't medicate on FF14.

Said DPS was also constantly shittalking our hardest performers in the static behind their backs and really the only usefulness they had to the group was the fact that they could provide the HQ raid food each person needed "at a cost" (usually by doing money-making favors for the guy, which he would proceed to brag about constantly). The whole static fell apart purely because of this one asshole's attitude and literally everyone else being too spineless to tell him to shove it up his ass, in addition to scapegoating me as the cause for it.

Shittalking people behind their backs is a FF14 classic. Some raiders just can't talk shit to your face so they take the next best option: dming everyone in your discord that you're a piece of shit.

Now the new group is aiming for a clear on E8S and they took months to relearn the fights with their new group taking others under the wing and are enjoying themselves much more. It's an example of how one person can ruin the fun for 7 others just by not reading the room or asking how your team is doing.

Stories like this one are why I run my own static. If anyone is being a massive cunt, they get the boot. I've had to endure progging ultimates with insufferable players whom the static leader was too friendly with or too lazy to get rid of.

Drak was only worth watching during his 2.0/3.0 days. The editing was succinct, the members of the group weren't tryhards (fuck Tate with a rusty pike the insufferable cunt), and back then they weren't as quite reliant on being le meme funny because hey, suddenly this is how they pay their bills.

Isn't Tate the incredibly fat guy who thinks he's a melon IRL? Guy on the right IIRC.

Been browsing the farms for some time but this thread made me make an account. On Crystal Coeurl, did that CWLS ever start up? I noticed it mentioned a few times.

Whilst I'm here I may as well share a cringe ERP story (I shared on /vg/ a few years ago)

Originally had a house in the Mists, a small one. Was a pretty active ward and knew a fair few of the FCs and neighbours in my ward. We'd be all cutesy and visit each other and leave notes and shit, was kinda comfy. Eventually by sheer luck a medium pops in Goblet and I quickly relocate to grab it. Figure I'll check out my neighbours places and see what they're about. There's a small house down the street from me and I walked in to check it out. Two people (from what I can tell) were in the basement mid ERP session and as soon as I realised what the fuck was going on I hightail it out of there. I'm pretty sure they didn't notice the intrusion.

I told my FC at the time because it was funny and one of the guys in there came to check it out a few hours later. They had a bed in the basement and he started using it as his fucking AFK spot. A couple of days pass and the house gets locked. Whenever I walk past that house I always wonder if they know it was me that made them lock their ERP spot....

Plus there's a simp for my character that always trades me statutes, bardings and minions if they catch me by the market board. I just emote /bow and quickly leave after taking my shit from him or relist it straight on the MB.... I miss my cool Mists neighbours lol

People still post on /xivg/? Last time I've been there, half the thread was namefagging and trying to score some ERP poon, and the other half was bitching about raid trannies or arguing about how lalafell players are pedophiles.

Some of us might also be involved in the community in some capacity. Publicizing that you're posting on the farms is a death sentence, especially with how cancel-happy the community is and how losers with too much time and troons won't stfu until you're banned/removed.

I religiously shill Wesk Alber's guides to newer players, he makes very in depth guides for every combat job designed to teach what a job does and what it's various skills do, and gives basic opener combos for levels 30, 50, 60, 70 and 80 that lay groundwork for how your skills flow into eachother. He's also been branching out and making guides for brand new players like explaining the flow of levelling your first character to 50, how the Gold Saucer works, all that stuff. Really good resource that people seem to be sleeping on, I've been playing for a good while and even I still pick up some tips on occasion.

It's pretty telling when the game's community cares more about two characters being lesbians because they lack social awareness than the game getting actual content, not caring if the game gives a new dungeon every other patch since it feels we get less content with every expansion after heavensward.

My feed has been mostly raiders doing "Now and then" memes, where "Now" is them having +50 kills on 5.2 fights with 99 parses. Then whining about how there's "no content" when really they just want savage raids, and how "it was better in the past".

This is pretty cancer too though. Interacting with any facet of this community results in some serious disappointment.

What the fuck is that social media post from the official account though? When I read that, I cringed. They're holding hands, yes, I saw the artwork, so what? The goth girl who's name I don't remember is a one-note side character.
