Dramacow FineBros - Copyrighting React Videos Controversy, the Ongoing Shitstorm, Sadly Increasing Subs

Who I feel bad for in all of this are the 40 people that the Fine Brothers somehow have working under them. They're probably doing shift work just to scrub their videos of bad comments and create wave after wave of bot accounts to try and inflate their subscriber numbers.

And as hilarious as this all is, the Fine Brothers have only lost a little over 1% of their total subscriber base since this revelation. If they can't get their shitty videos off of the recommended videos feed that YT pushes down everyone's throat, the only thing that will be destroyed is whatever reputation they had.

Well for one thing they're almost certainly gonna lose "Youtubers React" over this cos they've had big names like Pewdiepie and Markiplier on there who would rather rip their dicks off than get embroiled in a drama like this, Pewds still hasn't recovered from the whole rape joke thing and that was ages ago. And if the parents see whats going on they may lose their cast for 'Kids React' too since many parents won't want their 4-5 year old special snowflakes working with guys in this much shit. As for the others they may keep them but the viewership is likely gonna plummet to the point where they won't be able to pay them all and will have to trim back, maybe get rid of 'Elders React' since they're old enough to know when they're getting slave wages.
Cue the optimistics and autistics, I spend too much time on the internet.

I was hoping for some of the Youtubers they've had on the channel to react to the news, since this is some of the same shit they don't put up with. The very two you mentioned do Let's Plays, after all.

Also, apparently even they are supposed to be against this kind of shit. Oh, the hypocrisy. Or is it irony? I can never remember. Maybe both.

I think this photo is the best for showing just how heavy a loss they've had since the controversy started, they went from gains over thousands of days to losing a hundred thousand in one whole day. Mondays figures aren't going to be much better for them either.

Also for those bothered about subscribers the Fine Brothers have dropped below the Ellen Show in the most subscribers rankings, ironic considering the Ellen show were oh so evil for making a segment were children react to things without their consent

you guys know they are just copyrighting their own content right? not the term "react" or the genre
No, that's exactly what they're doing. Why else would they go after people on the internet and national TV making/using reaction videos?

The only problem is that they didn't have much of a reputation to begin with. What they did wasn't even really original (or even funny, before and after they switched to the "____ React" videos). They just made it popular.

Disclaimer: Fuck that powerlevel shit!
at some point I used to develop TV formats for a rather big network to be sold as franchises (just like Endemol does). These two idiots have absolutely no idea of what they're talking about.
I don't think they ever would have had much success enforcing their trademarks in court against other makers of reaction videos, but they were instead relying on Youtube's takedown system, which doesn't have the same standards of transparency or fairness.

Considering that 70-90% of their "subscribers" are probably spambots anyway, that's more of a percentage than you might think.

If you look at it, they tried to monetize and trademark/copyright/whatevs the basic function of Youtube comments. If you want to see a slice of reactions from the userbase, check out the comments section - it even has the benefit of being real time!

It's been doing that since early this morning.

The downward trend remains strong though.
Oh, it was hilarious this morning when it was on a much faster downward trend. I clicked on it and started noticing the meter was ticking upwards. One sub forward, four subs back.

I have always loathed those "react" videos. The thumbnails typify the stupidity of them. I'm stunned they have so many views, as I could never imagine anyone other than new-to-the-internet girls liking them.

And all of the actual humans that subscribe to them must be under 15 years old. Seriously, you'd be shocked at how many children use YouTube; they're responsible for unfunny, obnoxious channels having million of subscribers because children have the worst sense of humor on the planet. All you have to do is scream and wave your arms and they think it's the height of comedy.

Source: My two cousins are both under 10 years old and watch unfunny videos that they think are funny.

imagine if this happened IRL, as people leave a football stadium, the staff desperately fills the empty seats with cardboard cutouts

The San Francisco 49ers have been doing that shit since they moved into their tech-filled mess called Levi's Stadium last year. Except substitute cardboard cutouts for apathetic corporate suits that don't give a fuck about the game.

Also the Fine Brothers have been backpedaling so hard that they could've made the Pro Bowl as a cornerback.

To be honest if they aren't purple faced and stuttering on camera about this later today, I'll assume they've paid a cleaner to give them a new identity and existence to live.
