With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Greg has gone to production wanting to leave again and they took him upstairs to string him along more.

Is it actually legal to what they are doing?
 
Yesterday and today sucked so bad, it was obvious Trish wasn't going to be final three and I appreciate that they didn't drag it out all night or grind them down on more challenges when the outcome was clear. I wish more they had just done a short but fair and interesting competition but the time for that is long gone. I hope they meant what they said about Shinji though, he is not on a level playing field and it's stupid how they get mad at the guy for being ESL when they were all too happy to accept him for the show for being a weird Japanese porn star. He also mentioned still not being able to see I think, not sure if his contacts finally crapped out or what but that sucks if true.
 
Greg being "held hostage" is the best sideplot of the season. His weird little arc running parallel to the rest of the tank always makes me laugh.

I mean... everyone knew for days that Trish was being eliminated, it's not like it was a surprise. I'm glad they didn't drag it out and act like she actually had a chance.

The next elimination, provided there is no rigging, is where it gets interesting. It's up in the air who will go home next.

All of the early fish quit, Brian got eliminated and Jimmy was sad to see him go, Jimmy went into a spergout rage twice to get eliminated, Trish is the first real elimination since Brian. The show is kinda stagnate and all the fish are burned out, jaded and are going through the motions so they wanted to keep her as a freeloader just for contents sake.

After what feels like the tenth gaslighting session convincing him to stay on the show, Greg paced around nervously and pulled his phone out in the upstairs hallway. Josie rushed up, said "I need your phone" and extended her hand. Greg mumbled autistically and handed his phone to her, then sighed after she went back to the basement. It's insane, this is closer to a real kidnapping than not.

Yesterday was awful but today had its moments. This season has had extreme highs and extreme lows. It’s never found its footing in the middle.

Trisha staying was wholesome and I’m resisting the impulse to be cynical about it. This season is clearly a sophomore effort after the lightning in a bottle that was the first. I think they’ll learn more from S2 than they did S1.
 
Trish smoked Chris's weed pen almost immediately after getting eliminated and now she's in the confessional. I've never smoked so I can't tell for sure but she seems like she's high as balls right now.
 
Jet has talked Greg into staying once again. He gave Greg a taco and let him know they're creating a new fish toy just for Greg. Jet wouldn't tell Greg what this new toy is, he said it's a surprise and will make all of his problems go away. I wonder what it is.

There is also a narrative poll running about kicking Danye or letting him stay. Everyone wants him to leave. I feel like the minority here that doesn't mind Danye lol

Edit: Sam is on Twatter asking for final challenge ideas..

The freeloaders have been much better than the fish this season.

The crew would be dumb to kick Danye, he's like the only one who reacts to TTS and he gets the most hate TTS by a mile.

He could seriously get hurt if he was using the same contacts for this long. Corneal ulcers suck ass, and form from bacteria in the contact.

There's no real way to keep glasses or contacts safe without the basement being involved, and they hate shinji.
 
It's so nice without Fatty being there. If people keep putting Fatty away and bringing him back, he might actually lose some weight going up and down the stairs.
