I was playing since xavier started the "beta" at around 1pm. I actually got in for free that way. It was a lot of fun. Greg and xavier were active and eventually they picked teams amongst all the players (around 20) for a team deathmatch. I ended up dealing the killing blow on xavier, which greg called a "skrod w". After that greg took everyone on a journey to the ghost gate to just go straight for dagoth ur. Constant crashes. I don't think there's any way to get in now without the fishtoy. You'll just get spawned in a room with vampires and get killed over and over.

I also got in the "beta" but every time I logged on when it was live I was immediately disconnected so I assume I was kicked off for not buying the Fishtoy.

I thought that was a pretty perfect way to wrap things up. With the contestant people actually liked and cared for long since out of the picture, with any sense of warmth and humanity sucked out of the tank, it's only appropriate that the ending should be really dark and abrupt.
Props to Haley for her performance at the end.

I'm pretty sure the guy who sends a lot of the popup messages is Mints, the chat moderator, who is mad biased and wrong a lot of the time. Mints is offsite and therefore out-of-the-loop, and I've seen Jet tell him off in the chat a dozen times for making crappy popups or abusing his free TTS. It would not surprise me if Mints was convinced the ending wasn't real and sent the first message to calm the chat down because he assumed Haley didn't win or that they would bring the feed back.

Since 2.5 alone I've seen Jet clonk him over the head for sending way too many free TTS against a specific contestant or filling empty air with his free TTS (potentially discouraging paid TTS due to Mints having already made whatever comments anyone wanted to make).

I think a lot of the popups this season were actually from the basement but anytime I see popups contradict each other I assume it's mints' fault.

I think the crux is her unveiled contempt for the audience she had spent hours cultivating. I think there is heartbreak in realizing the MDE fandom and oribters aren't nice or funny a lot of the time. Greg can parse it better because he has foundations, but Tay siphoning value from her appearances on FTL was too messy and entangled with the gay scene's drama. Accepting stalker's voicecall and having it play on live air is probably the best way to entice them further.
