  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

AB is fat and beat and has always had terrible taste in favourites. Not really shocked this episode doesn't capture what made FH good.

Makes it hard to follow and kills the sense of momentum, something VERY important in Season 3. The awkwardness, the production hiccups and coverups, the confusion, the coping, the stress of dealing with Burt and Alex, all of that is what makes the reveal such a high point in streaming history. With no proper build-up, it could fizzle by the time we get there. The soundtrack is good but I think silence would work better in certain moments.
Also, no video of every single entrance, even as a rapid montage? Also, I wouldn't mind seeing more establishing shots from the live cams. The held camera views are great, but make no sense to a viewer who's never seen the show. A 1.5 second transition from the live feed room to room for a few scenes in the first few episodes would be engaging and easy to incorporate.

It also sucks ass that they left out all the repeat entrances when Sam “couldn’t get it right,” which was one of my favorite parts of the first day. Each one getting more awkward as the fish tried to give varied takes. Oh well, it was still nice to see the cam footage. The house looks way different from that perspective.

Sorry to kind of reheat the Vance debate, but while I agree that Luke is what Vance should have been in season 1 and bloodgames I also think that Luke never was "the normal guy". He's very good looking and incredibly likeable, but he's also kind of weird. He didn't even have the straight men role for most of the season. I think he occupies that sweet spot, where he understands the autists/retards but also normal people.
I don't even like Vance that much, but I think it's unfair to hold him to Luke's standard, because most people aren't able to match that. While he wasn't particularly special during S3 famous house, he seemed to have really good rapport with the more "normal" people like Alexis.

I could be really off, but didn't most of the cast pretend to be younger? I'm pretty sure at least Alex B and Alexis also said they were way younger than they are. So that might have been a production thing? She was also kind of shy about saying her fake age in the edit.

I think it might have been the same "creative differences" that led to the downfall of ConGREGated. There were moments when it looked like Greg was cracking under the pressure, especially yesterday. He hyperventilated a few times and I don't know if that was just the alog TTS messages getting to him or him being sick. He'd eaten 6 ghost peppers and had multiple shots of vodka so one can online imagine the level of gut destruction that would cause. But TTS was getting pretty brutal and someone had found a way to get gamer words past the slur filter, and someone kept TTSing a phone number saying it was Greg's. The poor guy wasn't built to handle shit like that. It probably gave him flashbacks to S2's hell house.

Props to him for sticking it out and making it through all 3 days even if he had to leave the Cube a couple times. These screenshots were taken right around the time he bailed, either because TTS was too brutal or he had thermonuclear explosive shits.

Yes, whenever people say he tard wrangled Burt, I agree, but it also showed how off he is. For example, he seems to be really bad at letting go off a subject, when it's obvious that no one is interested in talking about it (feels), but he gets away with it because he's charming.
And while I think he could pull it off, Burt is probably way easier to tard wrangle than Jon. Burt engages and is open to be wrangled, Jon is not.

Poor Greg. He really isn't built for the fishtank-esque/challenge type of content he makes but dammit he tries anyway. He's stuck in a weird place where he doesn't want to go full edgy, MDE adjacent chud but still wants to up the ante from safe, wholesome chungus redditors. Hope he made some good money off Gregcube.

Yeah it's pretty noticeable throughout S3 but I liked that about him. Probably the only Fish I would ever want to be friends with.

He tries his best and he makes thousands of dollars off of it but it's a rough spot. The rock is being stuck doing fake Mr. Beast shit which already almost ruined his life before FT and the hard place is doing hell house challenges that he can barely endure, but it makes money.

Greg is going to look for a job again if the streamer stuff doesn't make enough money but I think he should just embrace the Fishtank life without going full chud mode.

ETA: Frank also claimed Greg broke down in tears during segregated because he was terrified Burt was going to rape him :lol:
