With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

For off-season content they should link up with the fish one-by-one to do Empire of Dirt style documentaries about them in the real world. Take that new vehicle and do a road trip to meet up with the most interesting fish and freeloaders from across the seasons and hang out with them in their day-to-day lives. Would just have to be careful about doxxing.

Could also do shorter reunion type shows. They could really do anything. Jet's idea about bringing in 100 people and chopping through them quick sounds entertaining but also sounds really expensive. Unless they all took care of their own transportation.

They could also work with Bam more and do cKy style shit at Castle Bam (if he still has access.)

They do just fine, the show is extremely profitable. Even with just a mere two weeks of show in 2025 they had revenue above 1.5m pushing towards 2m from all of the stream star stuff going on. Season 2.5 as a whole was certainly in the black because Cell/Bitchtank were done solely to generate revenue. Season 3 is probably the one season that wasn't in the black because of design and failure -- no TTS initially then at the end when the RV stuff began.

The multiple times theyve cut to basement cam this season and jet begs for people to get the monthly subscription saying its how they keep the lights on. "what will it do to keep you subscribed blah blah blah," im not saying I believe him at all but every time hes been doom and gloom about how they really need those subscriptions. The theory posted in here that they need steady income to get a loan makes the most sense.
Regardless we know they had a buttload of volunteers for BG2 and they were complaining about not getting skilled laborers back then, anybody that signs up for the third time has to be coo coo bananas. Although we still have fans eager to get on the regular season where contestants getting paid is nebulous so who knows.

He is a good allegory of modern society. He is a fucked up guy who no one can properly call out or put in line because of the optics. He comes out and says he likes when women suffer and anyone who calls him on it gets instantly put in a bad light.

Yea, I gotta go back and try and watch the recaps of all the prior seasons. I only caught the first few days and last couple days of Season 1, caught first few and last few days of Season 2, didn't catch any Bloodgames, very little of S3 and S4. This is the first time I've been able to have it on a second monitor during work hours, and any time something crazy happened I could just take a break and tune in. It's been very entertaining.

I definitely think they should do a roadtrip and meet up with fish and freeloaders, shoot content, and maybe help each person with something. For example, go meet up with Landon and help him get a streaming setup started, then tie him into the Fishtank network for off-season content. A Landon food tasting channel for example, as Dumbgay proposed. So they'd get a long-term streamer on the Fishtank expanded universe, who does food testing every few days. Then they go whip out to Arizona and help the Twins get started with streaming and slinging art commissions. Get them a stream started, bring them into the Fishtank expanded universe, rinse and repeat.

I think the wiggas need more idea guys (no Chris Chan) to help them out. The Jeopardy thing for example could've been way better. Way whackier questions. Buzzers that shock contestants, so they have to fight through pain to answer questions in the first place, a wheel they spin that can land on physical challenges / humiliation rituals / 1% really big points bonuses. The goo room was a good example of when they commit to a bit fully, but maybe it should've been spread across 5 - 10 challenges rather than just one.

A major problem is Jet in particular has a pattern of behavior where he feigns appreciation to the viewers right up until he's satisfied with how the season has gone and then he stops caring and resumes open disdain for everyone. The basement intermissions show the facade drop over this season.

After season 1 and all the way into season 2 he had open contempt for everyone and something about season 2 had him change his tune after the fact but the story repeated for every season, including Bloodgames.

I suppose this is also the case with Ben but he's not as public about it and knows that at least pretending to appreciate the fans is part of the job.

You may want to replay that a couple of times on a larger screen to see his clearly visible blue glove-wearing right hand in the air as the door hits Drake's face - not on the door. Just as, or immediately after, the door connects with Drake's face, he pushes the door towards the wall with his right hand.

Maybe he just intended to shove the door towards where it should be, and thus separating the goo room from the "invaders", and his brain connected too late to react in time. Idk, but I thought for sure it was a rage-induced attack until I saw this vid.
 
I've been Landon. But I was Landon when I was 13 and I still at least got a kiss out of it. Going through this when you're 22 and it's all recorded for the internet is going to be ruinous for Landon.

Glassroom/market- what are these rooms for? Why so much glass/mirrors?
Bar-imagine having a whole ass bar in your main living room. Like living in a Buffalo Wild Wings
Kitchen/dining room- ok I guess but the open doesn’t flow with the rest of the house at all. Kitchen is also super underwhelming for an Atlanta McMansion
Dorm- I guess this is supposed to be the master bedroom? But it’s the biggest room in the house? Like sleeping in an airplane hangar
