With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

They had the perfect setup to a perfect semi-fair finale that included all the freeloaders and they blew it.

Jet separates the fish into two rooms(bash, twins, blane, alex on one team, burt, JDrake, laura, and landon on the other) and announces he is an alien.
The rooms must do Room Wars to see if they have the power to help him get back home, have different kinds of challenges that involve the fish doing something amongst themselves in the room, or attacking the other room.
Points are doled out semi-fairly, whoever makes the best content and/or completes the most missions wins.

The winner is immediately taken into the spaceship(van) and taken to jet's home planet(a random smoke shop in ATL)

I was pretty disappointed by the tag challenge. Even if Twins hadnt used spray paint before they could have done more to work it into their style. They had tons of red and love drawing weird gore cartoon shit. They could have done so much! I just dont think they were capable of getting their heads into the game and instead just were rushing and in full anxiety mode.

Not ALL of them, some are very cool dudes but a lot of them need to be on a sex offender list or something. As if they really care about young women’s safety lol I am glad the twins got 20 k, they deserved it too.

I feel like anyone with a crumb of humility would feel off after watching that.

maybe its because im a FEMOID, but I had to close out the director cam and tab out. I felt the same with some of the Tayleigh and Frank moments but Tay is a lot tougher than the twins.

The twins absolutely needed a reality check, but leaving it to the grand finale like the wiggers did was not the right way to do it because nobody came out of that looking good.

A little bit of a wider audience, but not by an alarming amount. Bingo and Bongo, comparatively, had a much more fun presence and would be active participants, maybe even funny…

I think if they want to have autistic girls on and milk them for TTS they either need to press them harder earlier like you say or figure some way to make them being eliminated late feel more fair. It's definitely easier said than done but it is also crazy how over and over again they fuck up the easiest shit too so it's hard to believe they ever do any deep planning.

For fun I asked AI to generate a list of things they could have done for challenges with rules and asked it to keep in mind the contestants to try to make it somewhat fair and described them. The list had a ton of great options and with a few passes clarifying things I'm sure it could be refined. With tools like that you don't even have to be creative or try very hard. The issue of handling judging a contestant that is two people has been an obvious issue from the jump and should have been considered more for the past month. As others have pointed out, averaging was too unfair for them and adding was too unfair for Drake. I think it's also fair to point out that them being two people and being able to swap out was an edge as well but they are coming in as two people having to split the prize money so having some edge at some points is fair. I'm also not terribly opposed to them fixing things and things not always being fair but there's an optics issue they need to address when it comes to the last part of the show. Twins should have been gone with the candy thing in retrospect but all in all good for them getting some money out of this.
 
A lot of the twin hate is just legacy hate for Josie. Also there is a section of the fanbase that thinks literally only drama/fighting is the only thing that constitutes content and doing stuff.

watermelon head golf seemed almost designed to fuck them over, since they'd have been at a perceptual advantage by having two people and being coddled(and psychic) and Drake just had himself in a physical challenge where you're literally kneecapped.
twins probably would've thought easy W because they've been doing quirky inchworm-moving and bugmaxxing the whole show and yeeted the melon into a corner and never found it right at the end - just like bash.

I honestly don't get why so many are so infatuated with childlike women. It comes off as creepy to me, personally. I'm not sure entirely if the twins truly deserved 2nd place, considering they were quirk chungus and coddled all season long. I don't think they deserved to be choked out by a roid rage gymbro, but I do think they needed a wake up call. I think I would have prefered the twins go home in the candy challenge. The paypigs were the ones that wanted them to stay. We could have gotten a Landon Bashir Drake final 3, but noooOOOOooooo...
 
both of the twins outperformed landon and laura during meat olympics so its not like they just coasted to the finals

I dont think anyone expected the twins to do as well at trivia as they did, or for Drake to have been so terrible at it. People forget that twins were able to beat Bash at trivia because they had answered a good handful correctly and then bet it all. I think wiggers expected the guy who climbs a mountain when suicidal to be more cultured lol.
