Five Nights At Freddy's

Watching this drama unfold was so stupid. Mangle is quite literally two animatronics. Like, there are two endoskeletons in it. The gender debate is stupid as fuck but it's pretty clear Scott alternates he and she for mangle, never "they".
The FNaF fandom nowadays is genuinely so full of snowflakes, it's disheartening.

She's still a female, though

Some part of me thinks Cawthorn is just fucking with the fans by alternating Mangle's gender, kind of like how TF2's developers switch pronouns constantly when referring to the Pyro (albeit it's to keep the mystery of whether Pyro is a man or woman alive).

That's pretty much any fandom regarding indie devs/games these days, especially if it's got that "kiddie" look to it.
I can't tell which kid-friendly horror game has the most obnoxious adult fandom nowadays - Bendy and the Ink Machine, Poppy Playtime, or FNAF.

I could totally be wrong, but I don't think Bendy and Poppy have too big of adult fandoms, at least compared to FNaF. Poppy is specially engineered to indie horror autism kids, and Bendy, well. From what I've seen (source: youtube comment sections) most fans are children, while FNaF has a mix of children and man-children. I'd also argue FNaF's got a tween to teenager fanbase too. In all honestly, it's got quite a broad audience.

I think the audience has most definitely gone older, fnaf is 8 years old now, meaning people who got on the train when it first was taking off is likely to be 16 - 20+ years of age or older.

I wouldn't be suprised if the child audience is still around but the demographics on average have definitely risen.

And far from the era FNAF originally spoofed.

You say that, but The Silver Eyes book series had the main character be an animatronic implanted with memories and then be replaced as they aged up with older models. Gregory could very well be one of the deactivated models either switched back on to discover he doesn't have a home anymore or possessed by of of the afton kids.
Believe me, I want to be wrong here, but the way the series has gone this is the path of least resistance, dumb as it is.
Nearly 4 months later and MatPat makes the same theory except it's Elizabeth taking over Vanessa clones with the DLC kid being the decommissioned kid Vanessa.

Time to ladle up a nice helping of "God damn it"

hi guys newfag lurker retard here

saw a few days ago that Phisnom, creator of fnaf+ was streaming "the new harry potter game".
I thought at first he might have been power levelling to try and filter trannies from his audience, but in reality the stream was actually coping-and-seething over JK rowling while playing some retarded "protest" game.
It also included a lot of pro-troon sperging from him and his cohost(?), "trans women are women" stuff

chat was as plagued as you could expect. average fagflag spam mixed with people talking about how JK rowling is LITERALLY HECKING ANTISEMITIC RACIST NAZI KKK BIGOT because... the goblins look like goblins? or other skitzo SJW delusions.

either way i didn't watch much before dropping, but I have to say im a bit disappointed. he never really struck me as the kind of guy to bend the knee to troons, at least this much, from some of the other streams i've seen.

this is the link anyway
i don't know what the etiquette on archiving streams like this is.

i mean, his main persona is literally like a genderspecial slime creature. but i can still see how he doesn't give that aura considering he happily will say retard and other "slurs" during streams.

The whole "Freddy, Gregory and Vanessa are actually the Afton siblings reincarnated" theory is such a copout. Hope the free DLC debunks or atleast retcons it
Same here.

If I may sperg... at first I actually liked FNAF.

It's underappreciated that the first game was basically a classic arcade-style game with modern graphics and a horror theme. Seriously how many old games can be basically described as "if thing gets past this barrier, you die?" (Arkanoid, Warlords.... hell I think I've even played one that had literal door locking mechanics). Which I think was part of the appeal.

As for the lore, it was interesting at first but worked also because it was a basic urban legend, almost deliberately like something you'd hear at school. "Kids were murdered and stuffed in the suits!" The story ended satisfactorily with the third game where the killer finally got his comeuppance.

For me a huge problem was when the characters started getting names and suddenly the story was about this guy named Afton who was like a mad scientist or something. The thing is... this adds nothing to the story, in fact it detracts from the overall experience because its less universal--now the people involved all just happened to know this one guy really well. It's pretty much the equivalent of a badly-done "Lex Luthor is actually Superman's father!" twist.

Plus like.... thing is, the whole digging for lore style works when the lore itself is basic, but it becomes autistic when you're trying to figure out things like the exact name of each ghost who haunts each animatronic. And like... why do I care? The way the story is told I don't get to know them as people, they're just names on a tombstone to me. Like, what the fuck do I know about Cassidy? Does she like toy cars? Is she into knitting? Does she have a cat named Fluffbutt? Did she write bad One Piece fanfiction? All I know is she's a name that gets associated with some arcade game called "Princess Quest".... oh, a girl playing a fantasy game where she's a princess. Real distinguishing trait there. Let me guess: she loves good things and hates bad things too.

And just... they keep leaning into it. I was actually a little excited when I thought Security Breach might be a reboot, but no, its all the Afton shit again.

Bottom line, any series where the Game Theory video basically acts as a plot synopsis... is a bad series.

Sorry for necroing this topic again but one thing always bothered me.

So the original idea was the killer killed kids, stuffed the bodies inside the animatronic suits.... and somehow the bodies were never found and he got away with it.

...... How?

Fucking how?

Like, even in the games its said people often complained about the smell. You seriously telling me nobody ever thought to check those things?

This is another thing that always boggled me about the FNAF series. People used to put Scott Cawthon up as this genius storyteller (something even Scott has laughed at in recent years) but his writing is R.L. Stine-tier at best.

You're over-thinking it. Scott has made it VERY clear throught the games that Fazbear Pizza as a franchise/company are very neglectful and careless, not only to the establisments, but their employees as well. They also have a habit of covering up things that might damage their reputation, as the phone guy always phrased things to where it's implied the company is not liable for anything anyone ever does.

Basically it's this:

Eventually the cops/investigators do get involved once enough people complain. In FNAF 2, the "grand-opening" was only a week because purple guy got a little too careless, and people found out.

why does the office have limited electricity
its not like the protagonist is in a faraway cabin with one generator

In the 1st game it was because the company was poor and couldn't afford to keep them on all the time. 3rd game was because of faulty wiring, which is why shit went to crap and you had to fix it via the terminal.

ALl the other games never had electricity issues.

Fazbear Entertainment hired trannies to do the electrical wiring so they could virtue signal.

@Celebrate Nite Thing is, the minute you have cops with a search warrant entering the building, it becomes hard to believe that the company just "covered it up" (without going into that thing bad fiction always does where everyone is just super-corrupt.... then again, FNAF is bad fiction so maybe that's what happened).

It's one thing that always made FNAF a bit frustrating. People want to see Scott as this big overthinking genius but in reality he's kinda just mid-tier and its entirely possible things we fans attached significance to were just straight-up oversights or mistakes.

Dude, this is a series that has animatronics coming to life via the souls of dead children. Are you seriously trying to bring in some form of real world logic to this when it clearly calls for suspention of disbelief?

Dude.... there's suspension of disbelief, then there's "stop thinking and accept any bullshit you're told."

I know Linkara is a lolcow but I still think this is an astute quote: "Suspension of Disbelief means I can buy into the concept of people with superspeed or the concept of shape-shifting martians. It is not a blanket rejection of all logic."
