There are quite possibly serious legal issues about this, especially if you are doing it to a disabled adult for the primary purpose of controlling and abusing him. I suppose the counter-argument would be that he's doing it for his protection.

If Caden evicts him without notice out of the blue like that then there will be consequences on Caden.
While someone who knows the specifics on the law in Virginia practically written for Chris about housing after being in custody, there could be some serious consequences as Caden might be wittingly or unwittingly more responsible for housing Chris than he normally would be.

If he's talking to Chris over say Telegram he can just delete that message and Chris wouldn't be the wiser.

If Chris's YouTube channel is under Praetor control like his Etsy store, then they can simply delete the video where Chris admits to "paying rent". Same with any social media accounts he has, Chris has a long history of giving people access to his accounts, and Caden and the gang seem to be pretty on top of stuff.

I can't believe it, but landlords in Virginia can actually evict without notice if a "tenant" has no lease and does not pay rent, especially since the neighboring areas have a huge squatter problem due to tenant favored laws. In everywhere I've lived, changing locks when the tenant is away would be wildly illegal and get the landlord in serious trouble.

However the legal system is not stupid, and tenant laws very often have to deal with lax renting agreements in informal circumstances. You don't need a lawyer written lease, or receipts to prove you are a tenant. Usually there is plenty evidence to prove that someone has been paying another party regularly. Caden's relationship with Chris makes it very murky since he is likely taking a cut of money going to Chris.
