Gary Busey, but his craziness is probably caused by a head injury back in the 80s. He's also pretty self-aware of his insanity, and is kind of amusing.
I'm convinced his brand of crazy prevents him from not being awesome. He is also sane compared to Meat Loaf, which is shocking.

I hadn't, though I've heard he won't have anything to do with SNL. That may have changed. Supposedly, the reason was a joke Spade did about a falling star. If there's a link I'll definitely check it out as I'm a sort of SNL scholar (I've even seen the last part of the 1980 season where Rocket says fuck).
This is all true, but he actually did show up for the SNL reunion special. However the skit they had prepared for him was related to the ongoing Bill Cosby scandal and he refused to do it because he didn't want to be called out by Bill Cosby. The man has lost all nerve and it's really sad.

Actually he considers Bill Cosby a mentor and a friend. He would have considered it stabbing him in the back. I don't think Cosby is worthy of the loyalty, but I think his motivations were noble.

Remember Deney Terrio? If you don't (and I believe many of you don't) he was the choreographer for the Saturday Night Fever movie and he taught John Travolta some signature moves.

A lolcowish thing he did was suing the 2012 animated incarnation of Littlest Pet Shop because one character (Vinnie Terrio, a gecko) "represents a 'willful and deliberate use' of [his] name, image and likeness without his consent" according to The Wrap.

Never mind that the developers of LPS made the name as a pun, but what makes this story a special kind of "special" is that DENEY USED FANART TO SUPPORT HIS CLAIMS!

Bitch should be glad anyone remembers him at all.

So speaking of SNL so much, how is it nobody has mentioned Victoria Jackson? Defininitely more "former" than "celebrity". It's hard to believe she was once in an X Files episode. It seems like the fatter she got, the more crazy, stupid and obnoxious she became.

I'm adding a photo because I want to remind you of how disgusting she is.

She was on the first or second page I think. Her clothes are finally right for her age.

You live in Tennessee too?

Here's one I'll get shit for: Jim Morrison. I like the Doors, but he sabotaged them with his alcoholism and self destruction.
Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis also. Had they been decent human beings, they would have been even bigger.
And yes, every $cilon is a cow, all the way up to L. Ron Hubbard.

Jim Morrison's astral wife Patricia Kennealy-Morrison is quite the lolcow herself. She had a fling with him and they got married in a Celtic handfasting ceremony that wasn't legal because they never filed the proper paperwork. She is still bitter to this day that Pamela Courson was recognized as Morrison's common-law wife and received the proceeds from his estate.

She also wrote a novel with a Mary Sue version of her as a Celtic queen getting married to a thinly-disguised version of Jim Morrison. 'Nuff said. Oh, and awhile ago, she pitched a fit on LiveJournal about not enough people reviewing her book on Amazon.

I remember that loon. I've read two Doors biographies, one of which (sadly) focused on Jim. It's sad she had to get an abortion, but she expected commitment from him under a false pretense. She was interviewed for the movie and claimed she put a hex on the movie, saying "scoff if you will, but it worked." No, lady, it didn't. You wouldn't have been there if it worked.

I'm surprised that Dennis Rodman hasn't been mentioned yet. Given his crazy antics on the court and throughout the 90s, he somehow managed to top all of that by becoming BFFs with Kim Jong-un.

I knew a guy who respected Rodman prior to the Kim shenanigans. Said he loved the game and had a big heart. I don't know basketball but it's sad how far he's fallen.

He was always kind of an asshole but now I wish next time he went to North Korea, they'd just keep him.

I thought the same. I have very little sports knowledge so I figured my friend was somewhat accurate, but you're right. Looking back, he did come off as an asshole.

Full disclosure; always was a Rodman fan when I started watching the NBA during his 'Demolition Man' era up until he retired, yes he was a celebrity lolcow minus the internet presence pre-social media sites during his heyday, yes he's an attention whore of the highest degree still as a former celebrity now, yes his intentional travel itinerary is not in the best taste, but he did try and use his cachet with the new leader of that state who grew up a NBA fan and a Worm aficionado in particular to lobby for the release of a pair of American's held there and for that, I can't really say he did the wrong thing on his trips there.

Bruce Jenner is just cribbing from his playbook now anyway if you think about it, now that's a prime former celebrity lolcow of the now to me.

I don't think he did that. I think he used his (limited and now destroyed) credibility to prop up a dictator for asspats, and that what he did is borderline treason.

You bring up Kirstie Alley and how Scientology can fuck shit up, yet you don't mention how it basically killed Tom Cruise's career.

Hell, I watched a documentary called Going Clear, and at one point while Cruise was with Nicole Kidman, he got off Xenu's Wild Ride for a bit. Then they forced him back on since Kidman's father was a psychiatrist.
I remember seeing something that mentioned how he scared Scarlet Johanson (sp) out of being in Mission Impossible 3 when he tried to convert her to his religion.

I've got loads of Scientology stories. Operation Clambake and Lermanet are gold mines.
David "Slappy" Miscavige, current CEO of Scientology Inc., threatened a staff member with "I'll send Tom Cruise to kick your ass." Worst threat ever.

A thread about former celebs and no mention of Dustin Diamond. He's pretty much the embodiment of former celeb lolcow nowadays.
