Maybe the Scud should go create a B-team in Indycar and have that as a place to train their future crop of guys who actually know what they are doing.

Italian "Clowns" do pretty well in WEC. I think it's less of an Italian Clown problem and more of a management of the F1 side issue. There's a reason the guys in charge of the WEC program refuse to transfer to F1 despite Ferrari's attempts.

The dentist menace has moved to endurance racing, where they can pay 2 guys who know what they are doing to put them into a competetive position. Still, you'll likely see them as the first car out once the green drops because they forgot that they aren't the combination of Senna and Schumacher so the divebomb just ends with them in gravel.

True, and prior to that we had a couple of well-funded yet catastrophically bad teams (not naming names, but Toyota know who they are).

I just think it's about time we saw some real clown shows again. Ferrari doesn't count, as they're just being Ferrari and they've always been Ferrari.

The Corporatism of the current regime/ownership has basically outlawed that. I think this is going to lead to a big fallout of the corporate teams somehow. They can't all be at the top, but none of them will accept that fact. F1 needs a big shakeup, but the very premise of corps running the show is just counter to the nature of the sport.

I think it's worth noting that the last time a new team entered the sport and had staying power, was 20ish years ago with Redbull taking over both Jag and Minardi.

I think it's almost half a billion you must pay out to the FIA to get on the grid. When I consider HAAS the poverty team yet needed so much money to get on the grid, it's staggering.

Hence why Andretti was a no, but Cadillac is a yes. They want the names manufacturers and not some random guy's name there.

Soon Sauber will be no more leaving only Williams and Haas as teams not named for huge corps.

The strange part is that Andretti is a massive organization to begin with doing Indycar and I believe NASCAR, I believe that politics with the FIA didn't want specifically Andretti on the grid. Honestly I hope after 2 years when the Cadillac power units are available that they change their name back to Andretti to spite the FIA.

They really were stretching the credibility of the process with it. That said, I would expect the next team to come from Asia as there inevitably will be some Chinese car company that looks at F1 and thinks they really want a slice of that pie, ideally estabishing a very credible effort into proving themselves.

If a Chinese entry happens, id expect it 10 years from now when they're more established and perhaps quality improves.
