first SMOOOTH OPERATIOOON with Williams!

I all earnest only first few laps were any interesting, it was a crappy snoozefest 2 laps after safety car.

4/10. Waiting for Singapore

Norris got the chance to make major gains in the championship with his rival out. Finishes 7th.

Domination by Max.
Norris somehow managed to earn fewer points relative to Piastri than if they had finished 1-2 (6 points for 7th versus 25-18=7 points for the 1-2).

We've got 7 races left, with 3 of those granting additional points for sprint.

Max has 74 points to make up to win - he still requires the orange bois to screw up monumentally to take the WDC - which I wouldn't put outside the realm of possibility.

It would have to be an even worse meltdown than 2007 end of season. Which, looking at the fat retard in charge, is certainly possible.

Apparently Lewis had orders of letting Charles pass in the last lap, but didn't slow down enough :story: what a little bitch. 7 times champion and still being this petty just for two points

Norris should be leading the championship by a large margin. Instead he might finish 3rd in the WDC, despite the full support of the team with the dominant car.

Piastri had a bad weekend and panicked hard at the start, but he will bounce back. My money is still on him winning the WDC unless Singapore ends up being another shitshow for him.

If Max ends up winning the title, this would be the most insane title win in F1 history.

Kinda ironic isn't it? All teams stop working on their car and suddenly Red Bull slowly crawls back into the leading position (for now). Though Tsunoda still has problems even though he did good today (still finished behind Lawson though)

Let Mclaren screwup Singapore again. In the most optimum case Verstappen would be 19 points behind Norris and 44 points behind Piastri. Then the real panic might settle in

And I really liked Sainz radio "That was my first smooooth operation at Williams. And it won't be the last!"

McLaren today looking like Williams in the mid/late 90's:
Best car by far but dodgy and unimpressive drivers that get exposed when things dont go their way. Max would have lapped the field multiple time this year in that car.

Between Lando constant bottling and the sabotage against Pastry becoming more egregious, I wouldn't rule Max out for the 2025 WDC.

(and yes, I'm salty that Team Papaya did my boi Oscar dirty... there's no fucking way he'd crash out so early without something fucky going on behind the scenes)

That why I wish verification arc for Piastri - put him next to Leclerc/Verstappen and lets see how far ahead/behind he is.
Norris is objectively Heidfeld-tier, maybe J Villeneuve-tier at best. He had meh-ish early Sainz, washed up Ricciardo and an Australian fetus as teammates. He isn't the crappiest driver on the grid, but god damn

Sainz getting the podium was fucking awesome. And I loved it when late in the race, Sainz, so used to having to do his own strategy with Ferrari, starting telling Williams what he wanted them to do and his team letting him know they were already on the same page.

I know the hype has gone into full drive but it's probably far too late in the season for a turn around.

If Max wins all races and sprints then Piastri only needs 2 GP 2nd places to be out of range.

Max coming 2nd is still pretty possible and I would die laughing if norris gets yeeted into 3rd after this season with the most dominant car and being the favoued driver.

Either way a Max ahead of Norris result will mean Ted and Crofty die of terminal seeth so I'm all for it.

Horndog got £75-80mil from RedBull.
Christian Horner was sacked in July from his dual roles as Red Bull Racing team principal and chief executive after 20 years in charge; Red Bull announced on Monday that Horner has officially left the team; Sky Sports F1 understands Horner received a pay-out in the region of £75m

Now that's sorted I wonder when he will be back at a team.

Regarding Max's chance of winning the WDC, he is still mathematically in it of course so he has a shot at it. IF this new floor and setup approach sticks, and IF Yuki can start constantly getting in the mix for top 5 or 6 :optimistic: , AND Ferrari and/or Merc remain in the mix, it will benefit Max only (unless they start doing better than Max!).

The more chances to take points off of McL the better. If we just had the McLs and Max as the ones to usually get top 3 in Q or race, it would be an uphill battle for MV to win. But with his teammate and the other 4 drivers in mix, one small error or bad day in Q and/or race for McL and one or both drivers could lose more than 7-10 points per race. Another DNF for one or both with Max win and I think it might be game on. Assuming some of the caveats mentioned above also occur. It would be wild if Max ends up winning. While like the rest of you I want Piastri to take it ultimately, Max winning 5 in a row will be another record he (jointly) has that Lewis doesn't, 5 consecutive WDCs.

With the relative closeness between the teams it could soon become "McLaren's WDC to lose" much like in 2007. You could also seeing a breakdown in relations between the drivers and if Max keeps chipping away and has another gain like Baku, the pressure will be ramping up on the McL drivers. Will we see either crack under the pressure in some way? We know Max won't if it starts closing up big time. If anything, it will probably make him better if he sees he has a real shot. We know his head. As he said, "He doesn't rely on hope". So he isn't fucking daydreaming he has a shot at the title, so no watsed energy or brain focus contemplating that. I wonder if Norris and to a lesser degree Piastri are roleplaying or larping in their head about winning the WDC. To be honest, it'd be tough not to in their position.

TL;DR-Max is the only one who will benefit if any or all the above happens during the remainder of season

As for Horner, you'd think he'd be a bit of a pariah to some. While he has a solid resume, that sex pest shit will follow him around as we see happens with Russell Greer. Its kind of a stink that will never go away. So I am sure some abhor him. Even if it all was true or not. There was talk of a 12th team potentially (forget who were leading candidates) that could be an option. But current teams, I can't single any out that might be possible. Top 4 are definitely out. Aston unlikely with Newey there now. Williams/Alpine/Audi have good/big name leaders. That leaves RBJr, Haas and Caddy. Anyone see it different?
