Got interested again in the game and oh man the game has changed so much in these five years, and I have played the original map ¡I didn't took in consideration just how EMPTY the map was back then now I remember why I liked the last seasons of chapter 1, luckily we'll start seeing changes next week.
REALLY missing the healing items we had (Never been a fan of the med kit, there's a reason why players barely used it and the gameplay was much slower back in 2018) I would suggest to take in mind where apples and shrooms spawn, there's also some coolers and ice machines that you can open, they literally have the same stuff as the produce boxes. Picking these consumables and opening these containers give some XP.

Btw ¿Remember how things appeared on the map randomly on the chapter 4 map? Because apparently that is going to happen again, probably when the map updates.

Also, got a question for everyone here; given that it's... well, Fortnite, which skins are your favorite(s)? Got any that you really like to run with?
I was tickled pink at being able to play master chief on PS4. Doom slayer ain't half bad either.

I really miss the tanks and prevalence of vehicles. I've taken a leave of absence until things get really interesting.

I put hundreds of hours in the real mode "save the world" before they dropped support and ruined the music. Its a shame, save the world was fucking great.

So, asked you guys previously about what your favorite skins were, so why not do the opposite, and ask what your least favorite skins are? We all got that one kind of skin that we just hate seeing for whatever reason: mine's the Cuddle Team Leader skins, personally.

Also related, what do you guys think of that "Fennix" skin/character? I mean, it's a blatant furry bait character, but it's still really popular with the community from what I've seen, and it made its way into Save The World a while back as a quest character, so...?

You should have seen the early concept art of fortnite. It was going to be a more dark and brutal game, but it was going to be about actual brain-eating zombies. But the development went all sort of places and now we have the game that we know today.

This picture dates from 2014, and the concept art of the husks used to look really gross.

There's plenty of furry fanart (Either SFW or downright NSFL as usual) for these skins so I'd say that they do have some popularity plus people are exited for the hyena from these concept arts, punk wannabe furries specially love these animals.

I think people here will have more fun shitting on the most stupid and idiotic cosmetics of the game, there's already plenty of talk about what skins people like.

I'll start with Fistick.
Though I never expected to see this one character in specific from this game to die impaled in a comic, probably the most violent official media out there.

Idk if I would like to read these comics, apparently they come with a code or something like that.

Personally I think anyone who decided to pay money to get specific default skins is stupid as fuck. Although I think they've been out of the shop for months now
Jonesy fortnite though...
Anyways, I got into this new "original" map thing and I keep running into these little gnome guys with icons over their heads so I looked it up and it's some hidden quest that gives nothing but XP, kinda like the bear/gnome war subplot thing that was going on a good several seasons and chapters ago

Yeah, I remember trying to follow the development of Fortnite in a few gaming magazines; it really is something, seeing how the game went from a darker horror game to... well, TF2 on crystal meth.

Can agree; you see plenty of weird players in BR these days. That's part of the charm, really; getting into gunfights with the most ridiculous-looking lunatics in the world.

Looked at the comic myself a while back; bit surprised how dark it got. Seriously, that Fishstick death scene was something else.

Miles Morales and any other spidermen skins. Every single one of them is always a sweaty tryhard.

I like the husk design in "Save the World". I feel that the generic ones are creepy looking without being overly scary. I'm happy to see the cartoony design, but a American McGee-esk design would be interesting like I feel that the concept art implies.

I'm usually more tilted by people's shit emote choices. I don't know why everybody has the same three awful rap songs on their account, but I hate hearing them in every goddamn lobby.

The only good licensed song emotes are stuff like the Rick Astley, Boney M, and PSY ones because it's either the entire chorus (or the first verse and chorus in the Boney M case) instead of just one singular 5 second phrase from the song like most of the rap ones are.
The emotes that are pop culture references without an actual license tend to be a lot better, though I wouldn't spend extra money on them. I saw that around the time that 80s treasure island cartoon had a Resurgence in popularity they added in a reference to one of the goofy walk cycles as an emote. Though it would probably be a little too on the nose as a reference I kinda wish they did like a synced emote where all 3 walk cycles of the guys in that one scene got referenced.

Hey guys; tried to pick up Save the World today, but when I clicked on the Learn More button in the game mode list, it said:

"The item you're looking for is unavailable. It may not be for sale yet, or it might no longer be available."

What gives? I know the mode was available for purchase just a few days ago, as part of a small character bundle. On PS.

right now the in-game shop is stripped down to the fucking barebones early fortntite style of shop which has caused buying shit to be kinda fucky. Kinda pisses me off honestly because it leads to shit like this. I guess the only way you can get the gamemode right now is through doing a one month deal on the crew membership thing. It's "permanent" still even if you cancel the sub which is a bonus I guess.

Crew does not have access to Save the World. You need to buy a specific bundle that includes it which thanks to the stripped down shop, is impossible right now to do ingame. I couldn't find it on PS, but I see it's on xbox and epic.

Weird, I remember crew gave perma-access to save the world unless they changed it.

Seriously? Ah, well; thanks for the info.

As if I didn't need another reason to hate the OG shop style; honestly, the previous version was so much better. Here's hoping the next season starts making some improvements.

EDIT: Speaking of next season; what do you guys hope to see? I'm fairly certain, judging from some of the leaks, that the next map is going to be a remixed Chapter 2 map; what do you guys want?

Double post, but... there's apparently an age restriction on certain skins, now:

It means that you can't use certain cosmetics in certain events, in order to make the game more "family-friendly" for children. This means that certan skins - Mincemeat, Rick Grimes, Agent Peely, the Demogorgon, etc., can't be used in certain content, though they are still available in Battle Royale... I think. However, some other skins - Polar Patroller, Micheal Myers, etc. - will be available regardless. The same goes for weapons and other cosmetics.

Apparently, it's because skin that have military themes or something "scary" associated with them might scare kids... except it's not exactly consistent.

Seriously, who the hell asked for this? I haven't seen pretty much anyone liking this at all; all this is going to do is piss off more people and make Epic lose more money. This whole season has been one bad call after another...

"Something scary and might scare kids" in a game...where you use guns...Not water pistols, not paintballs, not paint ala Splatoon. Fucking firearms, from where fucking bullets usually fly out.

Ya know, I'm suddenly reminded of this super old skit, just replace CS with Fortnite.
