Funimation Audio Leaks - Sacred Ointment memes for degenerate teens

If only there is something Funi could have done to have prevented their good name from being besmirched.

Well, they were kinda fucked either way. Remember that Otakutron 5000 -- Sabat -- does the dubbing and editing of DBZ on behalf of Funimation. That means that Funimation might not have stored these clips... It might have been Sabat.

If one of his VAs steps out of line, Sabat probably has hours of shit like this archived to leak and ruin them with. If Funimation had turned on KV and apologized to Vic or even refused to not fire Vic upon Sabat et all's command, something like this would have been leaked by KV to harm them.

That's my theory as to why Sabat would have kept all this shit archived. Blackmail.

(Except for the Gay Orgy thing. He probably thought that was funny and shared it with friends, or it was meant to be shown at a 18+ con panel.)

If this theory is true, then sabat can be thrown under the bus by funi. probably the others too. If that was blackmail, now they are free unless there is worse.

Only if Funi is absolutely certain they can do it cleanly. I.e., they'll need to have another dubbing studio space set up, and they'll need to make sure Sabat doesn't have access to the archives.

A public scandal where Sabat voices something horrifically damaging might just give them the clout to demand something like Sabat hand over the entire archive server or something. It sure would be a shame if something Sabat voiced that was horrifically damaging got leaked publicly.

But yeah, as Nick pointed out, Funimation has a lot of job postings. And uh...

They're mostly in California. That's kinda odd for a Texas based company, isn't it?

Yeah but my point is that there’s a difference between jokes about fictional characters and jokes about real people. Which is a (correct) take on the recordings. Which broke yesterday.
Ok, since you’re either being deliberately obtuse or you’re genuinely a total dipshit, here’s the breakdown.

HR manual says zero tolerance for sexual harassment

HR Manual defines sexual harassment as any words or actions that create an uncomfortable work environment for the recipient or anyone observing

one person is fired for borderline violation for joke that had multiple interpretations

Fired individual sues for wrongful dismissal plus damages, as nobody at the time expressed any offence

recordings come out of person who filed HR complaint and multiple other employees making unambiguously offensive recordings in character as licensed characters

recordings pre-date firing, establishing that a raucous and raunchy environment was the norm and participated in without complaint by multiple staff members, undermining claims that the firing was a policy issue and not a personal vendetta and showing complainant in HR action participated in said raunchy environment

In short, this skeleton falling out of the Funi closet pretty much sinks them legally, and there is a good chance they will face some serious consequences from Toei as well for this kind of thing being associated with DBZ.

You pretty much nailed it, except Vic is not suing for wrongful termination, is he?

I mean, he still could. And should. In fact, if he has evidence they were going to give him that Directorship role, he should sue for 3 years of Director's wages.

To think this all could have been avoided if they had just quietly let vic go without virtue signaling and telling their employees to shut up from the beginning. Basic shit.

Exactly. As he was a contractor, all they had to do was NOTHING. Literally, NOTHING. Simply don't offer another contract. That's why businesses hire contractors - quick and easy out by doing ... NOTHING.

Not always the best gig for the person doing the work of course...

He's not but he could if he wanted to though. When he was initially let go, he didn't think it was wrongful termination. He at first though that he did something legitimately wrong however when more information started coming to light, it was only after he filed suit that Vic learned that he may have been fired for all the wrong reasons.

He's not suing for wrongful termination. He's suing for what they said about him.

He had a written contract and wasn't a paycheck employee. Perhaps they breached that contract, and it may come out in discovery that they did. In any event, he has four years from the date of the breach to sue.

Could he sue them for wrongful termination while in the middle of another suit?

We know they did. He's required to be terminated in writing. Supposedly, that never happened.

>Culver City, California
Isn't that the HQ of Sony Pictures Television?
10202 West Washington Boulevard,
Culver City, California, United States

Hopefully the mole(s) watch themselves. I expect Funi to try and bait some leaks to find them.

I would be surprised if he's not fired already. Assuming their IT infrastructure was assembled by anyone with a couple functioning brain cells, you can get to the bottom of who accessed what files and when fairly quickly.

But vic allegedly doing things 12 years ago, that monster fuck him!!
Jokes are only jokes when they make them right? I mean, it's not like Vic can grow over time and learn to be a better different person or whatever, but everyone else, saints.
All of them. Every day they change and do the best they can to change society with them.

Some of these motherfuckers forgave PewDiePie for saying "nigger" in a heartbeat as soon as he married. But sure, Vic cannot be a better man (even if he did nothing fucking wrong)
