My only guess on why the Japanese act like this is because free online parodies are not just "lost income" in their eyes (every industry is guilty of the "sale attraction by any means" mindset, except food and furniture) and the fact that they see parodies or comedic critique as "disgraceful".Toei and TFS will not ever work together well, because Toei is stupid and doesn't understand that DBZA isn't harmful to them. That's just a fact of life. In the end, likely TFS will continue to exist in some form even if Funimation crumbles. They'll just have to go further into the recesses of the internet to do it, like most fan parodies. Their patreon will be hit hard, if not outright destroyed, and their VA work prospects will likely dry up, which will make the Buu sag or other abridged series less likely (as they won't have time + funds to do it properly anymore), but existing DBZA episodes will continue to exist, because this is the internet.
I don't understand the raw hatred some posters have for TFS, and it makes me conclude they're just not very familiar with fandom circles and products pre-WW, but TFS and Toei making nice is not going to happen. Toei is stubborn and very much influenced by the panic Japanese companies hold for the concept of having their profits 'stolen', so expecting someone to sit them down and explain why they're making a mountain feud out of nothing is foolishly optimistic.
Closest equivalent I can think of is the Gamera (Series 0 [WUCW-TV run] eps 5-8 & Series 3 eps 2, 4, 8, 12, 16) and Godzilla (Series 2 eps 12-13) episodes of "Mystery Science Theater 3000". There's a reason those only got put out onto video once or twice.
I can just imagine Microsoft Sam voicing Goku now......I'd imagine they'd go with making it sub only; less costly on money and time.
Or they could just replace the English voices with Microsoft text to speech kind of stuff.
Unlikely, but it's funny to think about.
