It’s not an issue of the subject matter at hand, but rather how you’ve presented it. And as far as I can tell, it sounds like you have some kind of personal disdain for the guy. Least that’s how some of it comes off. You should be writing from a more neutral tone.
 
TLDR for the casuals: Some homo furry is ripping sound files from a paid program called VOCALOID and is trying to distribute them in another program, UTAU.
Same furry has a history of ripping game models from games and claiming its legal because he bought the game. He charges money for these models and seriously considers selling ripped models as a job.

Like most of the things Dionn does, he's fucking shit at it. He doesn't rip models appropriately half the time (forgetting skeletons and shit), all he does is stick a penis on it if you pay him 30 dollars.
The shit that he's made UTAU is shit. The voice he is ripping from (MIRIAM, a "voice" of VOCALOID) is actually half decent, but Dionn somehow manages to fuck that up.
When the company that made MIRIAM took note of him on twitter, he backpedaled faster than Lance Armstrong on coke. Saying that he got "Miriam's (irl person who donated her voice for the program) lawyer to approve of his actions."

Fun fact: when you record something for a product, you generally will not own the rights of what you recorded. So the parent company trumps anything the original voice donor says. Also it wasn't a lawyer, it was someone who ran her fan e-mail.
 
I genuinely don't see the funny here. I'm not saying this maliciously, just genuinely curious... Why should we care if he's stealing 3D models? Or ripping sound files? Ok, so he's making a profit of it? Kinda scummy, I guess? but it isn't funny and honestly in the grand scheme of things, not that serious at all. If he sucks as bad as you guys say he does, he's probably not making much of a profit or taking away from the original artists in a substantial way.

As for the furry stuff, yeah. That's always gross but there are a ton of furries out there and they don't all get threads. Also, he's a member of forums catered to gay men. So? From what I've seen after a few years here a thread needs funny, interesting and continuous content to thrive and I'm sorry to say I don't see any of that here.

My opinion, which doesn't mean much of anything at all tbh, is that this thread will not do well and should probably stay in proving grounds. Or even get deleted.

In my personal opinion, what I find funny about Dionn (that isn't really emphasized enough in the OP) is how much of a fucking clown way he goes about justifying his actions.
I can't find the original video (it's burried under a fuckton of dance videos) but this was him justifying selling models ripped from the N64. yes that's his actual voice
He's getting butthurt because he stole other ripper's models, sold them, and then got called out on it.

MMD= MikuMikuDance, which is an animation program that many preteens use for their creepypasta/youtuber/VOCALOID/cringy meme shit.

That's just one example, I'll have to find more eventually.

Yeah, it's slightly amusing? He's obviously kind of a pathetic guy but I'm still not sure art/music theft is enough for a thread. His reaction is kind of cringey but I still, again in my opinion, don't think it's enough. If you and @KoopalingsRule34 really want a thread on this guy, my suggestion would be that you two PM and collaborate together and pick out the really good parts and start fresh. I'm talking twitter/video/whatever freakouts, being super deviant on his forums, etc. Then maybe add a mod or someone else with experience making threads to the PM and get their input before posting. But with what I'm seeing, that may just not be there. From what I've seen threads need a hook, for a lack of a better word, to interest and engage a decent amount of users who will help keep the thread going. And again, if this content isn't coming from Dionn somewhat regularly, it will dry up and there will be nothing left to laugh/talk about.

You want people reading the OP to go, "wow that's fucking weird/funny/cringey, who is this guy?" I can't be assed to look atm but I'm sure there is a "art weirdo general thread" kinda thing where you or OP could drop him in if he doesn't have enough.

Sorry, not trying to shit on the idea, I'm just trying to advise you two on what to do if you want to make this work and give a warning that it may not regardless of how much effort is put in if the content isn't there.

Totally understandable. Dionn from my understanding has been followed on deviantart for a good 2-3 years, primarily by other furries he pissed off to one capacity or another.

I personally wouldn't make the whole vocalsynth stuff the highlight of the article, since vocalsynth drama is considered niche. It comes into prominence though because those are his latest antics that have actually gotten him in trouble with various websites and developers.

The way he writes about his UTAU is laughable even to a casual observer who knows nothing of the technology. Claiming to be a bassbarritone, soprano and opera all in the same voice is fucking retarded.
He does not have the music aptitude or technological knowledge to make a competent voice, as I will display here (original song vs Dionn's demonstration. Note that he uses a poor reduced vocal version of the track, even though it has an official instrumental. Both are synth voices)

Main focus should be on his furry degeneracy and shenanigans, which there seems to be a ton of on furraffinity.
 
He seems to be pretty full of himself. That initial link is fairly entertaining, he talks about himself in the third person? lol, jeez.

Yeah, I would think vocalsynth would have an extremely small audience and I don't think most of them would see it as a big deal, I think more of the entertainment would come from his reactions from being confronted. It can be part of the OP, sure, but I completely agree. It shouldn't be the main focus. He strikes me as a weirdo so I'm sure there's some content out there.

I would really encourage that PM collab idea with you and OP, obviously both of you are interested, hence why I keep mentioning you two together, lol. OP did a good job in regards to archiving and sorting the information, I just think the mark was missed with the content. If you and OP decide to do that, I wish you two luck!

I'm obviously no mod or anything and I don't make threads, I apologize if I've sounded too pushy. As I said before this is all just my opinion but people here would always (hopefully?) rather see a thread work than fail so just trying to give some tips that I think would work in favor of him getting a thread.
 
I see potential on this one, but I feel it is missing the crucial "go ape shit" part that all lolcows have. He is dumb, doing something really shitty and from what I read, some times reply or defend his shit, but I don't feel there's more to it. In a scale of 1 to lolcow, I would put him between "loser" and "entry level lolcow scammer"

Might be worth to keep an eye on this crap but perhaps spice things up a bit more with previous juicy shenanigans?

Lurk a bit more. I’m not seeing the potential here, but I’ve been wrong several times. Document some chimpouts. The OP is supposed to be the introduction to the story you want to eventually be told of this cow. You want to be able to grab people. Spend less time writing and calling someone a faggot weeb and show us how much of a faggot he is. You’ve laid out a ton of facts and things that he has done that are mildly amusing, but at the end, he’s just another weeb. There are far more egregious weebs.

What is it with wannabe game developers ripping off other games? When I wanted to be a game developer just over 10 years ago, I experimented with a few different game engines and found this one obscure engine that doesn't exist anymore. I met a few cool people that I still talk to occasionally to this day despite the fact that I have very little to no interest in game development anymore though there was this one guy that I became friends with for a few years that tried to make a game in unity that I met on a forum dedicated to the previously mentioned game engine, using free assets that come with unity, not that that's a problem, but the problem was that he claimed that he made all the models when he made literally none of the models which baffled me because he was actually a pretty good modeler (last I heard is that he actually works in the games industry now).

This is the real problem with any threads for people from the Utau (or model ripping) community- they're all just so fucking awful and have utterly misplaced priorities. Attribution issues are annoying, not a cardinal sin. Redistributing someone else's paid product for free using your own time is a charitable act, not embarrassing. Scummy business practices are only funny if they've got something interesting going on, like a lawsuit, but this guy does low rent budget rips and sells other people's shit to retards and that's it. The difference between a shit voicebank and a good voicebank is Etruscan and the only thing we have to go on for why it's shit is that the persona built up around this guy's voicebank is a generic furry. The thread touches briefly on the retarded shit he's said or done when it gets to gay dating but then it fucking ends without exploring it at all, as if the weird deviant behavior is the side note.
edit: The coalition of retards that surrounded this guy in their righteous indignation are frankly more interesting, especially since dionn's main pages got bopped. Look at this shit:

I see so much ripped shit being sold for actual money in places like IMVU and Second Life. Early on when the internet was amazed by SL, people got taken to court and the evil 4chinners had a hud to tell if an admin was nearby. Today, you see full-on WoW model rips going at $4-5 each named shit like "Fantasy inspired elf" or "totally not Frostmourne". It's practically the only issue they've got in SL so you'd think they were on top of it, but nope.

Not really sure how many care for a few bucks changing hands over models and soundfiles that aren't being widely spread for the sake of it, such as music in the past etc. Only hope here is the issue being so small they just quickly click 'ban' and move on without much consideration.
