The first half of Leverkusen vs Union Berlin was probably one of the most boring halfs I ever saw. But straight in the first minute of the 2nd half Leverkusen scored the 1:0 and we are now in minute 60 and it's 3:0 for Leverkusen and I don't know what's going on anymore hahahaha

Edit: It ended 5:0 lol
Welp, another title for Bayern

Arsenal, on the otherhand, are making sure City don't walk away with this one. Chelsea looked like shit today and it was fun to watch Aubameyang realize he left Arsenal right before they became a legit title contender. But Jesus is gonna need to start scoring alongside everything else he does in order to make sure this team keeps rolling. He had a really good chance in the first half to score and just missed

Palace with a last minute deciding goal is a great feeling considering they’ve dropped about 6 points in the last minute of matches this season alone.

CL Round of 16 looks like this:

FC Brügge - Benfica
Liverpool - Real Madrid
RB Leipzig - ManCity
Inter - FC Porto
Dortmund - Chelsea
Eintracht Frankfurt - Neapel
PSG - FC Bayern
AC Milan - Tottenham

Dates are Februrary 14th and March 7th.

I'm ignoring the potential harm (injuries) the world cup could cause bc nobody knows.
So my predictions are (winners in bold):

Brügge - Benfica
Brügge wasn't that good or dominant in their last games anymore. Sure, they were qualified, so they probably didn't went on full power mode to safe resoureces. But it could also been that they just gambled bc they knew of their (non) potential. Like go full retard in the first games until we are safe, then chill and it just played out well for them. Overall I see Benefica as the team with way more potential in their ranks.

Liverpool - Real Madrid
No way Real is not going over Liverpool. Liverpool are still behind what they can do. A lot of people are underestimating Real - as always. It's their stick to just do as much as needed. They don't need to crush you with a 4:0 or 5:0 if the investment would be to much. Real is a candidate to win CL again this year.

RB Leipzig - ManCity
Yeah, easy call. Manchester Haarland will destroy RB.

Inter - FC Porto
This is going to be a close one but my guts say Porto will move on. Don't know why. It's just a feeling.

Dortmund - Chelsea
This here depends on Dortmund alone. Dortmund is not a team this year - as it wasn't last year. They are completely depended from a few players like Bellingham, especially Bellingham. If you haven't paid attention to him, do it. If he keeps up with his current form he will become a really big one in the future. Premier League clubs will pay a shitload of money for him soon. Dortmund has -as last year and the year before and the year before and ...- so many issues with players being injured. It all depends on which squad Dortmund will be able to bring to the field.
Chelsea may be shit in PL right now but their CL run showed what they are capable of. Yes, they lost their 1st game and it was embarrassing. But they improved much.
So my prediction is Chelsea but mostly because I don't trust Dortmund.

Eintracht Frankfurt - Neapel
We got Neapel. Fuck. Not sure if there are many teams that would be easier to play against, maybe Brügge, maybe Porto, so I expected that we will see someone who will very likely kick us out. But fuck, Neapel. Definitely one of the strongest European teams out there right now. This will be two fucking massive games. The game in Frankfurt will be fucking hell for Neapel.
But never bet against your own team so of course I will say Frankfurt will move on.

PSG - FC Bayern
This is probably -or obviously- the greatest banger in this round; besides Liverpool vs Real.
PSG is steamrolling League 1 and yeah, they only placed 2nd in their group. But Bayern was in the death group with Inter and Barca and noone had a chance (maybe Barca in their 1st match against Bayern).
There is something we call "Bayerndussel" (like "the luck of FC Bayern"). This is something that has always to be counted in when Bayern plays. They are infamous for scoring the winning goal in the very last seconds of a match.
Yes, PSG seems to have figured it out how to use MMN properly and all three seem to have settled down and accepted how things are and now they fit well together. But Bayern has Eric Maxim freakin' Choupo-Moting now instead of Lewandowski. That guy is doing the Benzema-transformation from last season right now. He is stepping out of the shadow and wrecking everyone.
A lot of people may be laughing about Bayern's defence bc Upemecano or Pavard have sometimes they weird retarded moments that bring Bayern into troubles. But don't forget: in their CL death group they only got 2 goals and that was against Pilsen. In Bundesliga Bayern got only 12 goals in 13 games but scored 41 there. In CL Bayern has the 2nd best offensive with 18 goals (Neapel being first with 20). Bayern had the best defence in CL, tied with ManCity. But again, look at the groups. Did anyone expect ManCity to get tons of goals? From teams like Sevilla or that one Danish (?) team?
Also Bayern has to win. PSG should never win CL. Because fuck P$G and their Quatary cheat code.

AC Milan - Tottenham
This will be another close one, too. Both teams have it to move on and I have a soft spot in my heart for both teams. AC Milan is one of the great teams of my youth (besides Ajax Amsterdam). But my bet is on Tottenham. Don't ask me why bc I don't know.

@Hüftpriester Juve with the 2-0 win over inter. Allegri In
He was forced to play some youngsters, thanks to a number of injuries. Imagine your coach is so incompetent, some of the best players in the squad don't see any minutes until the likes of Weston McKennie aren't fit. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, check out Nicolo Fagioli's goal vs Lecce from last week. A beautiful curling shot alla Del Piero.

Now we can only hope Allegri gets arrested for rape during the WC, as that will probably be the only way he gets the sack after beating Inter.

Thank you for saving me the trouble of finding the line up for this. I am going to hold off on the predictions until late January because I have no idea what these teams are gonna look like after the world cup.

Europa League Draw (third place in Champions League vs Second Place Europa League Groups)

Barca vs Man United
Juventus vs Nantes
Sporting vs Midtjylland
Shakhtar vs Rennes
Ajax vs Union Berlin
Leverkusen vs Monaco
Sevilla vs PSV
Salzburg vs Roma

Europa Conference League Draw (Third place in Europa League vs Second Place Conferece League Groups)
Qarabag vs Gent
Trabzonspor vs FC Basel
Lazio vs CFR Cluj
BODO/Glimt vs Lech Poznan
Braga vs Fiorentina
AEK Larnaca vs DNIPRO-1
Sheriff Tiraspol vs FK Partizan
Ludogorets vs Anderlecht

MLS Cup was exciting for Los Angeles Fags fans and neutrals, not so much for me though. ( Or Philadelphia penalty takers)

EDIT: Switched the video. The Spanish one cut off before the shit went down. This video has no commentary though.

Looks like Racing Club won the Argentinian supercup against Boca Juniors bc Boca got 7 red cards hahaha

I don't speak Spanish but what I could figure out is like:

- 1:1 after 90 minutes
- at the end of regular game time/at the beginning of extra time one player of each team gets a red card
- then another Boca player sees red
- then RC scores the 2:1
- the player who scored celebrates a bit too much
- everything goes apeshit
- red cards for everyone

10 red cards in total have been given (3 for RC, 7 for Boca)

Typical Argentina game that doesn't mean anything. Gotta start a full on brawl instead of trying to get back into the game

In other news, Ralph Hasenhuttl has been sacked by Southampton. Apparently there is another manager who can take a club that sell their best players every year and finish better than what he was able to do

Also Brazil Announced their world cup roster. Notable inclusions are Jesus and Martinelli from Arsenal, Antony and Fred, Richarlison, and fucking Dani Alves. Frimino, Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal defender) and Coutinho missed out

Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal defender)
Big mistake in my opinion. They don't have a ton of depth at CB and Silva is getting up there in age.

And damn, I didn't realize how badly Brazil was lacking in world class fullbacks. Forget Dani Alves, fucking Alex Sandro is in the squad :story:
Defenders: Bremer (Juventus), Eder Militao (Real Madrid) Marquinhos (PSG), Thiago Silva (Chelsea), Danilo (Juventus), Daniel Alves (Pumas), Alex Sandro (Juventus), Alex Telles (Sevilla).
Not a good sign when 3 of your 8 defenders play for Juventus...no disrespect to Bremer who is a beast and deserves to be there.

That being said, they're still one of the most dangerous sides on paper and no one would be shocked if they won or made a deep run.

Idk about Sandro but Alves over Gabriel was a huge mistake. Idk exactly how Brazil will play, but I could imagine having a back 3 and playing a 3-4-3 with 2 of their 9 forwards dedicated to being wingers and then having 3 forwards just attacking on the inside. With a dangerous attack like that, I would try and find a way to get them all on the field and playing together. I could imagine a game with Vinicius running down the left wing with Neymar pushing into the middle to create and have Raphina and Rodrygo running the other side. Or sticking Richarlison and Jesus up top with Neymar behind them in some weird 3-4-1-2 formation. No idea why they went with fucking Alves though when your outside back situation is shit

I think they'll go with something like this. This is how they set up in their friendly vs Ghana on Sept 23rd

Obviously Neymar will play more like a 10 in a 4-2-3-1 but shifting Militao to RB is a clever way to avoid playing the Juventus fullbacks.

This is gonna be a really good one imo. Tottenham is a completely different team with a healthy Kuluveski as the right attacking player. He creates so much for them and the team looked much more stagnant when Conte dropped him for Richarlson in the starting 11. Then he picked up a minor injury which he's just now coming back from. But I expect he will be a key player for Spurs in the knockout stage and should be fully healthy as his NT isn't in the WC. But Milan is really good, especially on the left side with Theo and Rafa Leao

This looks like the lineup they will go with. Neymar as an attacking mid with Paqueta and Casemiro as holding mids. I see the weaknesses here as Silva and Casemiro being able to keep up

I know Silva brings experience and leadership but I think Bremer deserves to play. The guy is just so strong and really quick for a CB. If his job is to man mark a top striker, more often than not he will pretty much take the guy out of the game. Juve's most embarrassing games this year have been when he was out with minor injuries and the likes of Bonucci and Gatti were filling in for him (no disrespect to Bonucci, who I consider a legend for the NT but he's just past his best).

As far as Casemiro, they can always rotate him with Fabinho if needed.

For me, it's Brazil and France then everyone else.

Dark horses - Uruguay and Serbia.

Don't count out Argentina. Might not look as good as France and Brazil on paper but holy shit they have a good squad that all just clicks.
I'd put Germany in the top group too, I could see Musiala being this year's Mbappe. We already know how good he is but it's possible he becomes a household name after the WC.

I would put Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Holland in a lower tier than Argentina. I don't see them being a fully complete team. Also, Werner being out is a bigger hit that the meme lords want to admit

The German suqad has been announced:

Goalkeeper:
Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern ), Marc-André ter Stegen (Barcelona), Kevin Trapp (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Defence:
Antonio Rüdiger (Real Madrid), Niklas Süle & Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Thilo Kehrer (West Ham United), David Raum & Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig), Armel Bella Kotchap (FC Southampton), Christian Günter & Matthias Ginter (SC Freiburg)

Offense:
Bayern - Goretzka, Kimmich, Gnabry, Musiala, Müller, Sane
Dortmund - Adeyemi, Moukoko, Brandt
Ilkay Gündogan (Manchester City), Jonas Hofmann (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Kai Havertz (FC Chelsea), Niclas Füllkrug (Werder Bremen), Mario Götze (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Most of it was predictably but there are some surprises. Well, not really surprises but still surprising. Schrödinger's surprise.

Füllkrug from Bremen has a blast of a season so far. He is one of the main reasons for Bremen doing so well. Reminder that Bremen got relegated back to Bundesliga this season. A lot of people expected them of doing at least better than your average new Bundesliga team bc of their run in 2nd Bundesliga.

Moukoko from Dortmund bc he is still only 17 years old (turning 18 in 10 days). But yeah, given how he performs at the moment it was kind of a no-brainer to get him on board.

Götze is definetily a surprise bc he's old. He's doing great with Frankfurt. When it got announced in summer that he will join Frankfurt I was pleasently surprised. He may be 300 years old but he still has it. The way he moves on the pitch - so good. This guy thinks football in a way not many do. Yeah, his stats may not be the best but he is so important for the whole team. One of the most underrated German players of all time.

Bella Kotchap's nomination surprised a lot of people and tbh me too. I can't say anything about him bc I haven't seen any Southhampton game this season. Same can be said about Thilo Kehrer. I think I haven't seen any West Ham game this season.

EDIT:
Just realized that Lukas Klostermann from RB Leipzig is in the suqad lol
Dude got injured on the 1st or 2nd match day and hasn't really played since then. What the fuck is he doing in the squad? There would have been other players Flick could have gotten on board instead of a guy of only played 100 min or something like that this season.
