I'd put Germany in the top group too, I could see Musiala being this year's Mbappe. We already know how good he is but it's possible he becomes a household name after the WC.
I would put Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Holland in a lower tier than Argentina. I don't see them being a fully complete team. Also, Werner being out is a bigger hit that the meme lords want to admit
The German suqad has been announced:
Goalkeeper:
Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern ), Marc-André ter Stegen (Barcelona), Kevin Trapp (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Defence
:
Antonio Rüdiger (Real Madrid), Niklas Süle & Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Thilo Kehrer (West Ham United), David Raum & Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig), Armel Bella Kotchap (FC Southampton), Christian Günter & Matthias Ginter (SC Freiburg)
Offense:
Bayern - Goretzka, Kimmich, Gnabry, Musiala, Müller, Sane
Dortmund - Adeyemi, Moukoko, Brandt
Ilkay Gündogan (Manchester City), Jonas Hofmann (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Kai Havertz (FC Chelsea), Niclas Füllkrug (Werder Bremen), Mario Götze (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Most of it was predictably but there are some surprises. Well, not really surprises but still surprising. Schrödinger's surprise.
Füllkrug from Bremen has a blast of a season so far. He is one of the main reasons for Bremen doing so well. Reminder that Bremen got relegated back to Bundesliga this season. A lot of people expected them of doing at least better than your average new Bundesliga team bc of their run in 2nd Bundesliga.
Moukoko from Dortmund bc he is still only 17 years old (turning 18 in 10 days). But yeah, given how he performs at the moment it was kind of a no-brainer to get him on board.
Götze is definetily a surprise bc he's old. He's doing great with Frankfurt. When it got announced in summer that he will join Frankfurt I was pleasently surprised. He may be 300 years old but he still has it. The way he moves on the pitch - so good. This guy thinks football in a way not many do. Yeah, his stats may not be the best but he is so important for the whole team. One of the most underrated German players of all time.
Bella Kotchap's nomination surprised a lot of people and tbh me too. I can't say anything about him bc I haven't seen any Southhampton game this season. Same can be said about Thilo Kehrer. I think I haven't seen any West Ham game this season.
EDIT:
Just realized that Lukas Klostermann from RB Leipzig is in the suqad lol
Dude got injured on the 1st or 2nd match day and hasn't really played since then. What the fuck is he doing in the squad? There would have been other players Flick could have gotten on board instead of a guy of only played 100 min or something like that this season.
