It’s been quite a wild season for United. They may have had one of the worst seasons in decades but they have buck broken Klopp and won the FA cup against the odds.

IMO, City getting upset was the second funniest thing to happen today.

Bayern are now going to pay €13 million for a championship manager who just got relegated after spending +€100 million. This sudden downfall of one of the most feared clubs in Europe legitimately needs to be studied.

The biggest money event in all of soccer happens tomorrow. The winner gets $100s millions of dollars, the loser gets to rot in the shit division of English soccer. Yes, it's the battle for 3rd place in the Championship. More people in the UK will watch this over the FA or Scottish Cup Final and more than the Champions League final.

Leeds vs Southampton

So Bayern have agreed a deal for Kompany, and are paying Burnley ~£10mil in compensation. However that no longer takes the title of "Biggest WTF managerial appointment" because:
I am trying to figure out who Rooney has pictures of in order to keep getting jobs in a league he clearly can't manage

Knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup (and ruined Klopp's final hoorah),
Knocked Chelsea out of Europa and into the Conference League,
Knocked Newcastle out of Europe completely,
Gave Rodri his first loss after a 75-game winning streak,
Beat City to give Pep his first domestic cup final loss in England.

On top of that, we've won more trophies than Arsenal in the last two years when they've got arguably their best side in the last decade.

Now to wait for INEOS to go and ruin it by sacking Ten Hag after leading one of our worst sides through to a fucking FA Cup win.

As bad as Rooney has been, he might have been an upgrade to Frank Klopas with the Chicago Fire. Morherfucker was the Fire's interim manager towards the middle of last season after Ezra Hendrickson was sacked and the Fire didn't make the playoffs. He claimed he didn't even want the job, yet Klopas was made the full time manager for 2024. They've only scored 3 goals in their last 8 games and are 2nd to last in the MLS Eastern Conference.

He may have been a club legend because they won the MLS Cup in 1998, but he's a bad STD that keeps flaring up and infecting the club he claims to love.

Who replaces him? Xavi, Tuchel pochettino? I don't like any of them :/

FA predictions? City 3 0

First 2 goals in 20 minuted
Well Well Well I guess I eat my own words. I never had haaland in my fantasy team, he either scores 3 or goes missing.

Rooney would be fine at an MLS team with no ambition like the Fire. Its the fact that he keeps getting jobs in the Championship without getting pushed down to League 1 or League 2 to prove himself.

Leonardo Bonucci has announced his retirement. One of the best ball playing central defenders I've ever seen and such a great character. I'll never forget when he told reporters that Moise Kean was partially to blame for being subjected to racist chants because he provoked the Cagliari ultras. It sent much of the English speaking sports media into a meltdown, and they tried to smear him as the posterboy for racism in Italian football. Like this segment from espn fc, where each white commentator takes turns having a tantrum, then they let the black go off for a while at the end. It's an embarrassing display of anti-Italian hysteria so I will spoiler.
It made it that much sweeter 2 years later when Bonucci scored the equalizer in the final at Wembley. Then he converted his penalty and after Italy won, the moment he became a legend of the national team was captured by the camera. I can only imagine how badly those smug journalists were seething in this moment, especially in the context of what just happened (3 english blacks missed their pens).

Forza Leo :semperfidelis:

Rooney off to Plymouth Argyle, aka another shit club in a big city who always underperforms and erodes in lower division leagues. They will be in League One in 2025-26

Birmingham City finally punted into the 3rd division of English football thanks to the efforts in part of Wayne Rooney. Rooney be better at a League Two club like Salford, that has big owners and big pocketbooks.

Lower division soccer is great, nowhere do you see people doing fan chants while their stadium is being burnt to the ground with dozens dying in the flames.

Bochum vs Düsseldorf ended 0:3 and there is a very, very important lesson to learn for every struggling team:

If you are on a downward spiral where you piss away a comfortable lead to the relegation ranks and end up playing relegation in the end, do not at any circumstances fucking bench your most important player of the squad*. Especially not if it's the goalkeeper and ABSOLUTELY NOT if you are facing the strongest offensive of the 2nd tier league and ABSOFUCKINGLOTULY NOT if your goalkeeper is one of the best assist giver you have and ABSOLUTELYTOTALLYFUCKINGNOT if you need a win at home bc you suck dick for cock in away matches.

*they benched their 1st goalkeeper Riemann bc he got mad at some players in the last regular league match last weekend and replaced him with Luthe who will retire after the relegation matches

Looks like I might look like an idiot in the end bc right now the 2nd relegation match between Düsseldorf and Bochum is going on and it's going into extra time bc the worst away team of this Bundesliga season, Bochum, who lost 0:3 at home, is leading the match 3:0. Bochum is actually the better team.

Edit: Bochum won after penalties and stays in Bundesliga.

Cross post but I figured I'd leave this here for posterity.

Ronaldo celebrates breaking the single season goal record in the Saudi Pro League (set by some guy named Hamdallah in 2018/19) like he just won the World Cup.

Not that it matters to anyone outside of Saudi Arabia but as a reminder, Al Nassr has not won a trophy since Ronaldo joined. And their rivals are something like 15 points ahead of them, having already secured the league. It's been fun for me watching Ronaldo stumble since he left Juve but at this point I'm actually embarrassed for him.

Isn't Sadio Mane on his team too? Just another one who has fallen.

As for celebrating, its probably a cope to help him continue his competitive spirit. I know he would rather score goals than help his team win so this kind of acting isn't a surprise in his career. However, this might be the last thing he wins in his career. If he has any realization of this, then I would celebrate too. Just not like this

I don’t think he has any realization of this, he is delusional to the point of thinking he will win something with Portugal. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if a 42 year old Ronaldo insists on playing every minute at the next World Cup.

I think Portugal has a great squad and a legit chance to win trophies soon, as long as Ronaldo isn’t leading the front line.

Portugal has the talent to win but there are too many people with the same attitude as Bruno Fernandez and Ronaldo to ever win something along those lines. Bruno Fernandez is probably their best player at this moment
