Derby County fans... it's time to get excited.

In 2007-08 the Rams recorded the worst season in the history of Europe's big five leagues, suffering relegation from the Premier League with just 11 points.
Now, though, that unwanted record is under serious threat.

La Liga stragglers Almeria have collected just six points - and no wins - from their opening 23 games, putting them on track for a historically bad season.

To be fair (and i am coping and sneeding after that) that mass of people in the centre is food stands and its just before half time

Wouldn't have blamed them for leaving, that was the result that Moyesball was leading to. Hope it stops the pundits cooing about the dogshit football, we havent won in 2024
 
Well, well, well it looks like life in Munich isn't all it was cracked up to be for Matthijs de Ligt. Imagine getting benched for Eric Dier in the biggest game of your season so far :story: .

Interesting note to remember, when de Ligt was leaving Juventus, it was Chelsea (Tuchel) and Bayern (Nagelsmann) competing for his signature. He chose the latter, insisting he preferred Nagelsmann's style to Tuchel's. And the rest is history, the guy is probably going to be sold again this summer.

Whoever buys him is getting a top player with a winning mentality.
 
My São Paulo simply doesn't learn... The James Rodríguez experiment did not work out and he is expected to be released any time now.

Who do they want to sign in his place? Ángel Di Maria. Really.

In other news, our NT has been eliminated from the Olympics Qualifiers after some very weak showings in the final round. Keep in mind we are the current back-to-back Gold medallists. Our future is fucking bleak...

Southgate is being exposed in a different way but I think he has more of a chance to keep his job. He has never been tactically gifted but he has done better than other England managers through his ability to get his players to actually play together. For the longest time, England was just a place where players from lesser teams would show off how good they can play to get a spot in better teams while the teams in the big clubs would just not play with players from rival clubs. They have gotten past that spot and are now being exposed for not being set up optimally and having a manager who can adapt to playing teams that are as talented or more talented than them. Southgate will lose his job either when he steps down, or a better version of him comes around.

I don't buy into this "Yeah, we didn't play at home" thing. That's no excuse for such an abyssmal game. Bayern ended the game officially with 0 shots on target.

I get that they have a lot of issues with injuries. If you permanently have to deal with injured players it's hard to form your A squad. And they are still playing a supreme Bundesliga season. They have 50 points after 21 matches. Usually that's way enough to rank first but Leverkusen is playing an outwordly season. In fact Leverkusen is playing the 3rd best season overall of any team so far. So there is some slack to cut for Tuchel .

But: Their season doesn't feel like they are playing this good and in fact despite the stats they aren't this good. Bayern is this good this season bc other teams suck (Dortmund and RB Leipzig). And this is where Tuchel needs to be hold accountable for. The whole team doesn't give off the usual Bayern spirit. Literally no team fears them anymore. Well, maybe Darmstadt does but they are ranked last so ...
Overall there is like zero progress in their game. Zero development.

I can't tell how much influence Tuchel has on getting new players on board but how they put their team together is also not Bayern-like. Sure we know that now bc of hindsight but they gave away Stanisic, on loan to Leverkusen. And then they ran into all the issues with their whole defence completelly shattered all the time bc of the many injuries. They gave away a player who has shown how important he can be (just watch the last matches under Nagelsmann against PSG). And they keep Upamecano, a guy who regularly fucks up in important games. Like today when he saw red and caused the penalty that lost Bayern the game. It's not the first time he does that.

The whole drama about getting a "holding 6" before the season and during the season just to drop that issue completely during this winter transfer window. Not a good look.

And there is so much more. Like weird post-match press conferences/statements.

Not everything that is going wrong at the moment is to blame on Tuchel but his Bayern stint will definitely going to tarnish his reputation.

They just aren't getting good looks since the new year rolled over. I know there is press about the team being "unmanageable", and I think a few players (cough Sané cough) have some issues, but come on. It's actually embarrassing, that much talent but so little quality offense.

"Not everything that is going wrong at the moment is to blame on Tuchel" = I don't blame him for Leverkusen being that good and the massive list of injuries throughout the season so far bc that would be stupid. The loss against Leverkusen last week tho is on Tuchel. He fucked up.
