Not a huge watcher of Aston Villa so can't give you a great scouting report on him. All I know is that he isn't guaranteed to go to Juve. Liverpool and Arsenal are sniffing around as well. His contract is up in 2026, which is why Villa are probably looking to cash in with him. They probably can't extend him so sell him now and get that plus transfer money to beef up the squad, like they did with Grealish
Villa are also one of the reported PL teams that need to offload players for cash before the end of the month to avoid FFP issues.

In the past, I'd think Liverpool and Arsenal interest would mean Juve have no chance. But now there's a lot of hype surrounding our new project and good players are keen to join. Calafiori and Koopmeiners have already rejected the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and even Bayern because they want to play for Motta. I won't mind if we don't sign Luiz as long as we can sell McKennie to Villa, or anywhere for that matter. He is a shit player.

I'm still hoping for Mason Greenwood, I think whichever club has the balls to sign him is going to get the bargain of the summer.

Fun little thought experiment. The BBC put together a starting lineup of England players who aren't going to Euro 24

If you are to assume that these players don't get injured, don't get tired before 90 minutes, and have no other competition requirements aka just play 38 games in the premier league, what place in the premier league do you think this team would finish?

I personally think they would finish in 9th or 10th. Crystal Palace finished 10th with 48 points and West Ham finished 9th with 52 points. I think this team could potentially fit in there

That midfield partnership is dreadful and would get carved to pieces

The only redeeming part of that lineup to me is the centre back partnership. Maguire was desperately needed against Iceland last night and it still surprises me that Branthwaite didn't get the call-up over Lewis fucking Dunk.

Contrarian take about Mbappe to Madrid:
It won’t be as successful as everyone thinks. Vinicius, Rodrygo and Mbappe are all right footed forwards who prefer to play as an inverted winger on the left. It’s worked with just Mbappe and Rodrygo so far, but it will be hard for Ancelotti to have a balanced lineup with all 3.

Also, for the first half of the final Dortmund were able to pass right through that midfield. If they were more clinical, they would’ve killed the game off in the first half, and I think we all knew they were going to lose when it was scoreless at halftime.

Maybe this is just cope but I don’t think they will be as good as it looks on paper.

Defensively, yes. I think if they played a low block with a counter attacking style and then letting the midfield build up on the attack if the counter attack breaks down would probably be the best way to play this squad. I figure they can get 48-54 points in this season of the premier league. This team could probably pick up 20-25 points with the teams in the bottom 5. Everton, Wolves, Fulham, Bournemouth, and Brighton can contribute another 15 points. That just leaves 8-34 points from the top half of the table. So def not challenging for Europe but mid table for sure.

That defense just screams low block. And with the midfield and outside backs this squad has, a low block can cover a lot of that. Plus Branthwaite and Maguire thrive in those low blocks

Canada lost to Netherlands 4-0 as well. Hopefully the 2026 hosts are not all jinxed to lose friendlies 4-0 because there's one more host playing on Saturday....
It was a 5-1 loss instead lol. I really wish Berhalter would get fired and they'd just let BJ take over for the rest of the year. That can't be any worse. I also think Ethan Horvath should start in GK for the next friendly against Brazil.

It won't. As terrible as that is it's only for friendlies. The way we played we deserved the rainbow flags though lol.
Since the last world cup, both Denmark and Germany used their presence at the WC to show their support for the fags, only to end with miserable participation for both, maybe LGBT is the new-age quiricocho in order to curse teams but this one being self-inflicted, like how most faggots die KEEEEK.

What I mean is there won't be any rainbow shit on the numbers or in the actual stadiums for competitive matches. There won't be any for the upcoming Copa America either.

I'm on /sp/ right now with the LatAmericans following the Brazil/Mexico friendlies (the game is...not too far away, physically), and it's actually a pretty close game with Mexico briefly tied but Brazil pulling ahead (Live thread). Watch the autistic screeching in real time!

Who needs fag flags if you have outfits like this?

before and after

Pls nuke us.

I know, i'm sorry. But what I wanted to point out, is that i've not seen a team which supports lgbt and has a good match at the same time.
Did you see David Alaba and Toni Kroos after the winning the final? That was probably the gayest shit I’ve ever seen in any sport.
