The one thing I've noticed from Nintendo as of late is that their games no longer explicitly mention "female/male" when you're prompted to select or customize a character, regardless of the language. It's less obvious than the タイプ - (Body)Type shit seen in Capcom, Squeenix and From Software (Monster Hunter Rise, Dragon Quest 10 Offline, Elden Ring) but it's still there nonetheless.

Troons, in their desperate search to be validated as women are systematically dismantling anything and everything that defines a "female" because they can't and will never fit the mold of a proper woman.

I was following Dark and Darker, which is developed by a Korean studio (not sure if the devs are Korean or if it's just based there) and so far had two limited open playtests. During the first one (around December), the character creation had the familiar male/female symbols, but then in the second (February) it suddenly changed to A/B. I have no idea whether someone complained or what is happening here, but it's just incredibly retarded. Can't at least one game go back to saying what we ALL KNOW "type 1/2" actually is?

Maybe this is a demand that's coming from potential publishers? Its the only way I can see studios from so many different backgrounds and countries, many of which otherwise don't care about wokeness, all going in this direction at the same time.

that's probably it, Nintendo notoriously gives 0 shits about its customers in any sense, unless failing to appeal to them means "less profits" (they don't play the game either way) and all the studios just go along with it so their games will actually be published

The worst type of censorship for games is when it worsens the gameplay.

Like in "The Ninja Warriors Again", they completely removed the Kunoichi (too hot for western audiences) enemy type from the game and replace every one of them with a monkey enemy.

The Kunoichi likes to jump over you and attack you from behind, they really switch up the way you have to play.
The monkey just attack you straight on like most other enemies.
This censorship decision in such a simple game lessens the game experience significantly it makes it less challenging and a lot blander.
Not only are you robbed of the visual variety, you are also missing out on a radically unique attack behavior.

true, but the problem is to "become" female you still have to define what female actually is, otherwise MtF isn't a thing and needs to be called 1t2 or AtB or some other dumb shit instead. that's why trying to subvert the definition will eventually backfire. if in the end everyone is just a simple genderblob, no one is, which goes against their special snowflake status (remember MtF don't want women rights, they want "trans" rights).

Last year, Didyouknowgaming got a copystrike, it says exactly NoA, not just generic "Nintendo". So if someone from Treehouse are seething, it should be claimed by NoA.

I doubt Japan cares about localization that much to do this with a mod.

Not exactly a deal-breaker in order to enjoy the (bing bing wahoo) games themselves, but it's still worth to pay attention for the things to come.

To be fair that RE4 remake screenshot is a bit disingenuous. The remake screenshot is from the second shack in game which like the original does not have that body. The shack that would have the female ganado doesn't appear at all as the area it is in doesn't appear.

If only YouTube actually put systems in place to make sure copyright claims were from 100% valid sources and not just bullshit some drunken hillbilly could throw up.

Thankfully, the remake restores that enemy type in the western version, and gives her larger breasts. The playable female ninja also got an expanded moveset, and larger breasts.



Additionally, a new female character was added, who has a unique playstyle, and large breasts.



Nowadays, Tengo Project are one of the few development teams who understand the gameplay importance of large-breasted women.
