Game of Thrones Thread

I watched the first episode of their Chernobyl miniseries after watching the garbage fire on GOT. Thought it was really good. Seeing something set in 80s USSR and not be a shitty spy movie is cool.

Part of me wishes they hired out a mixed Ukrainian and Russian cast as the characters and had it in their native languages, but fuck it, it's great.

You should try the Deutschland series fam. It's a spy thing, yeah, but it's great and mostly in German.

From a conceptual level, I don't have any problem with this ending with Danerys going crazy. To echo others, there needed to be lead-up to this. Maybe they could have feigned surrender earlier by ringing the bells and Euron could have killed Rhaegal while Dany's guard was down so that the bells triggering her would actually make sense.

On a positive note, Ramin Djawadi is on-point as always and they seemed to remember to give Arya an arc at the very last minute.

So, what channels do you guys watch for reviews of the episodes? The only reviews I actually like are the ones why the Westeros youtube channel which belongs to the people who run the westeros website/forum/wiki.

Back in the day when the episodes were of significantly higher quality I watched Alt Shift X religiously. Guy really knows his lore. Takes a very neutral point of view with most things, though.

Now I enjoy listening to his cracks of frustration in his matter-of-fact reviews of the episodes. I kinda feel for the guy, because you can tell early on he had huge hopes and expectations for the series.

I quite liked Arya and Sandor's interactions in this episode. Arya is entirely motivated by revenge and Sandor points out quite rightly that if she hates him so much why is she going to great lengths to be exactly like him. Arya has the sudden revelation that if she kills Cersei it really won't change anything at this point and decides that fuck it, she's got more to live for at this stage. My bet is her conclusion, if she lives, is Storms End with Gendry. Anybody who didn't see Dany losing her shit coming a mile away hasn't been paying attention. Cersei went out like a bitch, but I see what they're getting at, she's content to let her people burn and die because she believes her fortress is impregnable and can never fall. She's been arrogant for the entire series and increasingly in denial over her chances of winning. She's basically killed by her own hubris which is kinda weak but let's face it, she had to die somehow and however it happened some group was going to bitch about it.

Well this was a wonderful shitshow to wake up to.

Nice to see true unity among absolutely fucking everyone from the book writer to the actors to the producers* to book fans to show fans to SJWs to anti SJWs to normies in despising this lazy "SUBVERTED UR EXPECTATIONS LOLOLOLOLOL" horseshit that wastes all characterisation and story building solely for an empty and predictable plot twists.

All that hype wasted because two shithack writers were just too goddamn lazy to make a token attempt at writing a competent or coherent storyline and too goddamn arrogant to let someone else write it for them.

And now the road to Confederate and Star Wars: DnD edition begins....

* Despite popular belief, this shitshow was against what HBO wanted since they atleast wanted to milk this cashcow for a solid 10 seasons

It's so fun to follow the retarded shit that happens in GoT strictly through KF, /tv/ and Twitter shitposts.
I guess I'm just glad I dropped out at S3 or 4 after reading all the books, can't even remember the exact point now. Can't imagine what the normalfags were thinking to get so deeply invested in the show as to warrant fucking suicide prevention lines being posted now, lmao.

I thank you all for your service, people who've decided to plough through this garbage anyway to keep us in the know ❤

Oh yeah I mentioned Confederate in my last post, for those who dont know what this is, allow me to enlighten you...

“The show chronicles the events leading to the Third American Civil War. The series takes place in an alternate timeline, where the southern states have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution. The story follows a broad swath of characters on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Demilitarized Zone – freedom fighters, slave hunters, politicians, abolitionists, journalists, the executives of a slave-holding conglomerate and the families of people in their thrall.”

Or to put it simply, in a couple years time we will see the BLM version of A Handmaids Tale style persecution porn as written by DnD, with the story based around heroic fREEEEdom fighting journalists opposing FFFFFFUCKING WHITE MAAAAAAAAAALE slave hunting corporate CEOs and politicians

How can they subvert our expectations with this, though?
