Game of Thrones Thread

When was it decided that the dothraki and unsulied are all black. The dothraki especially, khal drogo was white.

Most of Essos (Braavos seems to be an exception) is Ambiguously Brown. I guess Dorne is that way too; there was a lot of screeching about most of the Dornish actors being white ... or whitish, I suppose.

I don't remember the martell house being black in the books either, yeah they're tanned but that's like going to spain and calling the people there "black"

I know there's lot's of diversity in essos, but they're not all black.

I'm going mostly by what I see in the show and can glean from people who've read the books (I tried three times and couldn't make it through the first one). I'm happy to be corrected.

Most of Dorne is a pretty transparent analogue for medieval Spain much like the rest of the series is for War of the Roses era England, so they range from the "basically French" Stoney Dornish to the "Moors in all but name" Salty Dornish.

I thought Free Cities were pretty much white. Isn't that area pretty much where the Andals came from to Westeros?
And we already know Valyrians are basically aryans.

Spill it, por favor.

At this point, I'm past the initial "horror" and "anger" phases. I'm at the "let me enjoy this dumpster fire" phase.

Cersei has hidden herself away as the city burns around her. After killing Euron, Jaime just kind of stumbles into her chamber and the two reunite and embrace.

She gives a speech about just wanting the baby to survive. Jaime tells her that the baby never mattered, that only she mattered, that only they ever mattered, a throwback to his “fuck anyone who isn’t us” speech. That’s when the building collapses on them.

ETA I hope to christ this is incorrect but knowing this shitshow, it’s probably not.

I was so dreading the idea they'd fucked up Jaime's arc I never considered the possibility they'd totally blown Cersei's too. Holy fuckbubbles.

Why did they fuck up so hard Cersei and Jaime's arc? It's like the easiest thing in the world to adapt. What, is twincest their OTP or something?

Come to think of it, is there any character whom D&D didn't fuck up in regards to adaptation? They fucked up Dany in the end, they fucked up Stannis, they made fun of Theon, all the Starks minus Robb and Jon and Ned got the shaft...Is there any characters they genuinely like?

Apparently Nikolaj and Lena haaaaate the twincest storyline and asked D&D to end it years ago, as it is over in the books, but no bueno. They seem to love fucking with actors if you’ve heard about any of the petty shit they’ve pulled over the years.

Jaime heading off to get romantic with Cersei and die with her after having sex with/ditching Brienne--someone he both cares about and knows cares deeply about him--is such a douche move on top of being ooc. Like did they not realize how awful that makes him look? I could maybe understand if it was some brash and misguided way of taking out Cersei so that others/Brienne may live but if it's just gonna be because he missed banging his sister then fucking YIKES D&D

TLDR: Jaime turns into Scumbag Steve with awful writing.

I love how much Reddit is shitting on the show.

Clearly, it's Bronn.
He definitely overstayed his welcome in the show.

How the fuck was whip girl ever going to be effective in any fight? That's such a fucking dumb weapon.. Sure, whips hurt against skin, but they're fighting people in armor, and worse yet, with metal weapons.
Combat whips can break bone, ruin hands and split open throats when used correctly, which they weren't in the show. I was SO hyped to see a fellow female whip combatant in GoT and they fucked up so bad. She should have made use of a karambit or some other small, exotic knife or dagger to finish armored dudes off after pulling them in. It's not ideal against armor and swords, but it can do more damage than one might realize. The show made it look stupid and useless.

Carice van Houton. Don’t think she was married to anyone on the show. She’s with Guy Pearce, they’ve been together for a few years and have a kid.
Lena Headey was married to Bronn's actor and they hate each other now. It's specified in their contracts that they are to have absolutely no scenes together. You'll notice any time Bronn is close to getting near Cersei he fucks off for no reason or some other character (Qyburn) is the in-between. They also messed with them by giving them sex scenes right after each other (Cersei with Euron implied, then immediately Bronn explicitly with a bunch of whores) it's fucked up.

In the books the people of the Free Cities and the parts of Essos closest to Westeros are all described as white. Once you get to the Rhoynar they get more olive tinged or brown. And then there's place like Valyria and Ghis that have phenotypes you don't really see in the real world these days like purple eyes or red hair + brown skin.
