Game of Thrones Thread

"The White Walkers are the big enemy ... WINTER IS COMING!"

>Psyche! The big villain at the end is Cersei!

"Oh. Okay. Cersei is the big villain at the end!"

>Psyche! The big villain at the end is Dany!"

Rian Johnson is probably so proud. At least someone is enjoying it.

GRRM will now finish the books in two years and laugh in the face of the creators.

GRRM can go fuck himself. I think he sabotaged the show on purpose by delaying the books because he wasn't liking the attention that the TV series was getting over his books. It's a disrespect to the fans who got legitimately invested, I think.

Also, I don't think he's going to ever finish the books. But maybe that's just me.

Edit: i love how both people who like Danny and people who hate Danny are united in calling this whole thing dumb lmao

The GURM needs no excuse not to write.

Dude, it has surpassed any bad ending in television. A woman literally wins a capital city, the home of her empire. Then she hears bells and kills women and children.

It was barely fucking implied. There is absolutely 0 reason for her going insane. She's a little blood thirsty, but she's always been 'for the people', Not getting laid and hearing bells just makes her destroy her ENTIRE CAPITAL with the THING SHE HAS WANTED ALL HER LIFE. There's no defending this decision. It is senseless. There is no set-up for her. 'She might go insane because people in her past did' does in no way logically conclude 'she goes insane for no reason'.

She's seen people die before. She does not even go after Cersi, she burns women and children and even her own soldiers because she doesn't absolutely give a fuck.
Just because the show is fucking stupid and has piss poor writing doesn't mean there's no basis for her going insane, Targaryens having a tendency to go mad is a very well documented fact
King Jaehaerys once told me that madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Targaryen is born, he said, the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land.
I dont know how much more on the nose you can get, they even have Varys paraphrase this before she goes full Aerys.
Also you're hilariously optimistic in thinking the fat fuck is ever going to finish the books, for better or worse the show is how people are going to remember his story.

They're going to need a comparable show to bring people back or Turner may cut them before CNN.
Maybe they'll bring back Deadwood and The Wire.:optimistic::optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:

Edit: disregard that, both would be completely cucked garbage if they brought them back now.

When a version of The Rains of Castermere started playing before Jamie and Cersei died I thought it was a good musical choice. Much like the Reynes were destroyed as a family by the Lannisters, so (most of) the Lannisters were destroyed by Daenarys and her dragon fire (and Dany didn't even fucking know she did it)

And now the ash falls o'er her hall, with no one there to hear.

If only everything else wasn't executed so poorly, it could have been a very powerful moment.

The only "good" part of this episode was Arya escaping KL. Yeah it's kind of contrived but I appreciated the effort they put into humanizing Lannister soldiers and the peasantry, and some of the shots were solid.

The Golden Company was lame
Jaime vs Euron was lame
Cleganebowl was lame
I thought Dany was going to become a villain and even I am insulted by the lack of set up

I can't wait for next week, it's gonna be such an avalanche of salt and feces.

This was pretty hilarious honestly, I checked out after the 3rd episode and read the apparent leaks and was waiting to see this happen and it happened. Such a well timed bit of comedy in this whole thing, the reactions from some of the GoT reddit pages has been fun to see too. This season is a shitshow but it'll provide a healthy amount of memes.
