Games/Game communities you want to get into, but haven't yet - For whatever reason, why, etc

Probably the Atelier Ryza and Trails of Mana series.
I recently found out the Mana remastered version was on the Switch, but it seemed a little expensive. Whereas the Switch version of Ryza was very expensive, and it was sold out for months now and the only way to get it is through a PAL version made in the UK.

The communities of Mana and Ryza are different, since Mana was made during the SNES days, but the Ryza community is a bit different since the Switch version seems more popular than the original PS2 games.
Ryza plays entirely different than the previous Atelier games. Most noticeably being they put actual effort into the battle system where as before it felt like they took it out of something like RPG maker and just slapped it on.

Everything is tied to item quality and very early on there's alchemy loops that can get you to 999 quality and allows you to wreck the game. There's no rough spots in the game, even the end and post game is smooth. The Battle Portals can be a bit confusing to figure out on how to adjust enemy level and to make sure you don't accidentally summon the post game boss and that's probably the only thing that needs a guide to look up.

I was going to say look up the PS4 version if you wanted it cheap, but those are just as expensive as the switch versions.

There's also Sophie and Firis which were part of the last trilogy of games. But avoid the third part of the Mysterious trilogy(the game with the twins), it's tedious beyond all hell and everything sucks.

People may also recommend The Dusk trilogy and that's probably the best of the old type of Atelier games. But it's very guide heavy if you want to do everything in a single playthrough, time management is king for the older Atelier games.

Vidya - I hear good things about BotW, but I just can't get interested enough to actually play it.
You're missing out. If you already have a Switch, you really should check it out. I put a good 260 hours into it and I didn't even notice where the time went. By far my favorite Zelda game; if you like open worlds, that is.

Shin Megami Tensei /Persona series seam to be right up my ally .The only problem is that i'm more of a Nintendo/PC fag than a playstation fag. But i am tempted to by a PS4 for Persona 5, i just don't want to spend 500$ for a new console to for one game but i will definitely try out Shin Megami Tensei if i can find a good emulator for it.

You know it's also on PS3 too, right? And just like GTA V, it's literally 99% identical to the PS4 version.

I’d really like to get into a Battle Royale style of game - the specific game matters less than just sort of getting the chance to try it out. I really love the novel and getting to see how these games implement it seems intriguing.

But I keep getting put off. I have real difficulty trying to see motion in games with a lot of visual clutter (Monster Hunter World and the NFS games, for example) so I’m really concerned that I’m just never going to be able to know what’s actually happening, so I’ll just get stalked and ganked. And the tension of that has kept me from trying one.

Are there any out there that might be either less tense or easier to see?

I'm getting into Apex Legends on PC, kind of nice to play a shooter that I can use my controller with natively. I haven't put this much time into a shooter since COD4, so I'm pretty much a liability to every team I'm with. Really fun though, 150 hours in a month.

Path of Exile, I always take forever to reach maps and by the time I do I get either bored or feel like my build has hit a wall. Oh thats another thing "run this league starter build to then fund your actual build" so by the time I do that I am doubly burned out.

Rainbox Six: Siege. I tried to play it with some friends who knew the game, but they knew the maps and were saying stuff like "defend garage" or something like that, and I had no idea where to go, so I felt like a hindrance to the team. Knowing your way around the levels gives you such an advantage over newer players it feels like it's impossible to catch up, because the noobs get caught out of position and get lit up before they have a chance to learn the layouts.

I wanna get into classic Might and Magic but 4/5 and 6 don't click with me. Maybe I'm just too dumb to get it or maybe I find the mechanics to be too daunting or maybe I'm not used to building an entire party of characters as opposed to one. In 4/5's case, the process of building your own team is so tedious that by the time I'm ready I lose the will to continue. Maybe at some point it'll click and I can enjoy it.

Any decent MMO games, really. I enjoy working with others to complete missions or tasks, and you can meet some pretty nice people along the way. I like the communal feel to gaming, especially while being quarantined. Problem is many current MMOs are overtaken by whales, newbies are usually booted when attempting to join group missions, or the community itself is a spergfest. And the general note that most current MMOs suck ass and are p2w.

I would get more into FPS games but I'm shit at it and I don't want to drag others down because of my performance. I'm trying to get better and I see some improvement but it ain't much.

Legends of Heroes / Cold Steel, but it is so slow and the way they try and force the MC pairing with his adopted sister is creepy.

I’m a bit curious about the .hack franchise where should I start and how much will it set me back?
Personally, I remember the popularity surrounding the .hack/// series, since I was shocked that the West managed to get in on the action of the game, if you compare it to Japan’s popularity.

If I can recall, there was a .hack fan who once said that it was best to watch the anime series of the same name, and then in chronological order, check out the first .hack/// game first and move your way on up. (At least, that’s how I remembered it, if you consider the lore of the series.)

I really want to get into board games but I'm such a sore loser I have made a fool of myself a number of times to the point I hesitate to play. We have a ton of games in a shelf at our house but I'm just struggling to enjoy them. I guess I cheated at games too much as a kid and mow I don't know how to lose.
