Since it's brought up a couple of times now I do agree with the warhammer takes, warhammer is a series I feel like I should be into but I could never muster anything serious for it, despite how a lot of it's (annoying) fans love to propagate it as an alternative for those tired of the current state of halo and star wars, what they don't realize is that not everyone is into edgy grimdark stuff and that there isn't really any easy entry point for 40k
With Star Wars you spend a few days watching the prequels and original trilogy and you're set to go, you have a basic foundation of the main characters, the world and how it works, and you can go off on your own
Same with Halo, play CE or Reach all the way through Halo 3 and you understand most things(well not counting 343's halo with 4 and above)
with 40k there isn't really anything like that, there is no show or movie to watch to get you all caught up, no games to play that give you a wide understanding half of which besides space marine 1 and 2 have questionable quality anyway or are for a niche audience(I.E the strategy games)
One could just read/listen to lore all day but I don't think most people want to do that, not to mention but i'm pretty sure it's looking like GW is trying to appeal to the same people who turned star wars and halo into the trashfire it is today
