Games you suck at but still enjoy

Do I need to be more autistic to be good at Factorio? Is that what it takes?

Hearts of Iron IV. I Love other less involved strategy games like Civ or Total War but the moment you star requiring me to route oil supply routes or repair parts to the front Im out. Seems like a game I would enjoy and Ive tried to have multiple friends explain it to me but I guess its just too fucking Arcane

Funny you mention that. I think I have a mental disability that makes me think I can be good at pinball.
I like to try to climb the online leaderboards in certain games. Some games I can make pretty good headway without a huge amount of effort, but with video pinball, no. Just like, lol. It's so much more of a struggle, even after really trying to learn2play. I can make some progress, but I know I belong on the short bus. It doesn't go any better on actual machines. I think my brain just can't comprehend Newtonian physics or something.

All fighting games. I love the genre and I go out of my way to play almost everyone that comes out and have also played most of the old ones, but I get more enjoyment playing in person with friends or simply just jumping online and seeing how far I can get by trial and error. I despise labbing and refuse to do it.
Fighting games are like the opposite of driving a car: 90% of people think that they're below average at it.

Pac-man, Robotron and pretty much any classic arcade game. Like I know they're not intended to be "beaten" but I always found I could never get past four or five rounds even as an adult.
This is pretty normal too, tbh.

Yeah, Like you I enjoy the score leaderboards but something about Virtual Pinball confuses me. It's fun to play while watching second monitor but to try to get the real feeling of the actual machine is rough. Even videos where they are like ball feels heavy and goes into physics my brain is still like WTF?

I really enjoy the Atari Recharged games for the leaderboard stuff or Torementer X Punisher if you're into the Smash TV style of gameplay. One thing I really miss due to the growth of online/home gaming are Arcades. Even the Round One near me was sick to go to on weekends because there was a decent amount of adults playing arcade cabs and you could get in matches of SF or even Tetris.
Your also Spot on for Fighting Games. Most people just think you need to lab 24/7 and can never move up but in reality if you just play a lot you will learn. The sweats and tournament stuff you see from people who literally make it their job. if you ain't making it your job don't expect to be daigo parrying on the reg.

You need to know at least some of the basic ratios and base-building techniques. You also need to be willing to just paste down more and more of something. Sometimes you just force yourself to play the game. I know all of this but burn out pretty quickly.

Shin megami tensei games.

Its games i've enjoyed playing but never end up beating, these games like to thrown long labyrinth dungeons at you so even if my builds are well managed and i am making progress i get filtered because i just don't have the focus and time at my age. You can be in the groove, then you drop it and when you pick up again in a week or two you have no damn clue what is it you were doing.

Hate to say it because it makes me feel like a retard, but anything strategy based. XCOM, Command and Conquer, the various 40k strategy games, and so much more. I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of fun games and I really want to try them, but I get discouraged because I am retarded. I have the same feelings about arena FPS games. I grew up with shooter games, ranging from Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, Halo, and more but when it comes to arena FPS games like Quake or Unreal Tournament I just instantly fall apart. The 40-50 year olds who've been playing Quake since their teen years and 3rd worlders who can't afford a better PC to play other games are just way too far beyond my skill level it makes it impossible to play them online in PvP modes.

Devil May Cry series. Can't do all those combos you see on YouTube and play it like an Arkham game.

I don't mind grinding xp to beat a boss but these games are about cheating and exploiting any and all systems, at which point you one-shot everything and the game is a joke. Very rarely is it kinda 50/50 whether you win or lose; it's a complet landslide in either direction.

Thats true. The grind in this case would be collecting and fusing the demons to get a good buff and debuff combo that wrecks the boss. You'd still have to endure the labyrinth levels with very high encounter rate, some ares are very endurance test.
