I am not that surprised i have seen a lot goslings for Selen in /vt/ and if i am right her appeal is that she is very much like a tomboy bro you wish you had back in the day.
Marine will take a break for about 1 month
Taishi's TL:
[EN] 【UPDATE】
① My voice had been getting hoarse again lately, so I went to the hospital again. It turns out my vocal nodules did not particularly worsen, but it was my vocal cords that were suffering from internal bleeding (because of overstrain). It is expected to heal in four days.
② I will be taking a one-month break. I’ve finally resolved myself to take a one-month break after discussing this with other Holomems and management.I will be taking this month so that my vocal nodules can also make a full recovery before the Gen 3 concert and also so that I can continue streaming with peace of mind in the future!!
(Although the nodule has indeed grown smaller, it’s still very much still present, so I’m aiming to defeat for once and for all!)
When I first learned I had the nodule, I wasn’t able to allow myself to rest fully because I felt like I still had to stream something. However, with the important upcoming concert and my own future health in mind, I will do my best and make myself rest up!
This might make many of you lonely, but I’ll make it up to you with plenty of fanservice when I return!
③ Through the hospital’s referral, I will be taking proper voice training lessons in the future! Apparently, my vocal cords’ internal bleeding and my voice returning to being hoarse so soon after recovering are both because I’ve been vocalizing improperly. I will be undergoing weekly training to fix this. (After the internal bleeding heals, of course!)
④ Other Details
I asked the hospital if this meant I wasn’t allowed to speak a single word for the entire month, and they said it wasn’t to that detail. Therefore, I will still be doing all the collabs that I had previously arranged and the recordings that, for some reason or another, simply cannot be rescheduled.
Recording sessions and promotion events that will take a long time have been shifted to after my recovery.
Solo streams will be on hold until after I undergo the voice training and learn how to vocalize properly.
In light of all this, I will generally not be calling anyone behind the scenes and will do my best to not use my voice. I pretty much only chat briefly with other Holomem when I bump into them during recording sessions and off-collabs and only use chat the rest of the time. So please don’t worry about me still over-using my voice during my rest period
I am truly sorry about getting unwell so many times this year and causing you guys to worry.
Even when I know I really should rest, I still unconsciously find myself seeking a place to belong through streaming.
What with aiming for 2 million subs and all, I really struggled to find a way to avoid resting, even if it meant making my throat worse. However, the final conclusion I arrived at was that it’s much better that I get the rest and training I need so that I can speak with you guys as long as I want!
During my rest period, I will do my best to continue engaging with you guys with video uploads, through Twitter, and through the Free Chat stream!
I definitely want to treasure all of you kind souls who are patiently waiting for me...
I hope you continue to give me your support.
There's the Japanese overwork ethic, and their oft-stated fear that their audience will forget about them if they take a break. They are online content creators, so even though their core audience will always stay and wait for their return, a certain percentage of viewers will be fickle and the fear of losing some audience is not completely unfounded.Great news. I hope this lead to a domino of break and health conscious measure among the other members. If Marine, who's know to be overworking herself, discussed with other and come to the conclusion, I'm sure the other finally realize how serious it is to take care of themselves and continue to work for years building their success instead of trying to burn their life away to ride this wave for one or two more years and have to retire.
Take Kanata with you too, Marine. Poor girl said she'll take care of herself better but still got depressed any day she can't stream.
This was super cute, I love how Pekora's English pronunciation was better than Moona's in some cases lol (e.g. trident vs treedent)Forget about the dumb video for a while (or forever), have a "Pekora leeching on Moona"
Why are the number of voice packs limited? It's just files, right? There's no marginal cost to produce, the buyers are looking for a way to support their oshii, and even if you price below the max the market is willing to bear those dollaridoos are still going to mostly flow through superchats.Update on the Nijisanji EN Voice Packs:
Selen sold out of her stock in a little over two days, making her the 2nd fastest-selling member of NijiEN behind Pomu Rainpuff.
Rosemi has about 38 left, whilst Petra has 56. However, Petra's limited edition voice packs have been selling out the ass today which is nice to see.
Maybe she growth up and voice changed? For Gura, I think her natural voice is a little bit higher than her stereaming voice base on her Twitch archive and some old doulingo videos.

Edit: Oh, are the contents custom? That would explain things.
She could easily turn this around and have clip compilations posted while she's gone. You have an army of simps who translate and clip for free. This is where a competent manager will sit down with Marine over a drink and lay it out firm and clear for her:
"You've overstressed your vocal chords so now you've got to take care of them, that means no streaming for at least a month. You fucked up, the doctors told you before to go easy but you had to overdo it. Take a month off, nobody's gonna forget you. Shit, I wish the world would forget that easy, I wish I could forget Kevin Smith or tiktok influencers, but the fact is, if you do anything remotely interesting on the internet it will stick around for a bit"
Gap moe really seems to sell as seen with Mori as well.I have very little doubt that the majority of her voice pack requests will involve her bullying or ridiculing them. She's more of a Uzaki/Nagatoro brat than a tomboy though imo.
But most importantly she also has a huge gap moe. She doesn't cope well with horror games, and she acts incredibly gushy and cute when she's making bento boxes. It doesn't surprise me that Selen has caught a really wide net of fans willing to cough up money to commission tailored voice lines.
>one Minecraft stream overlaps with Morina collab
I think "Koro-san" itself IS the friendly nickname. Like it's different than calling her "Korone-san" that's how I've always interpreted it. As far as I know, all of her close friends call her that.Do any of y'all know why Okayu uses the -san honorific when addressing Korone but Korone doesn't use one with Okayu? My understanding is not using one with a friend implies you're close enough to someone to not have to (and is thus rude if omitted with someone you don't know or in a professional/serious setting). The two girls are tight as testicles and their roommates go way back, so I assume there's something I'm missing. Is Okayu's use of Koro-san meant to be somehow intentionally sarcastic, like an in-joke or something? Because not using symmetrical honorifics and them clearly being very close is why I'd suggest that, although I don't have another example; it's just my guess. Also, Okayu likes to use a lot of looser, almost gyaru-like language, so it's even weirder from her. It has to be some kind of cultural sarcasm thing, right?
Ngl Gura doesn't sound too far off here. In fact Id probably go as far as to say she probably is just using her regular voice but its pitched up slightly by her mic settings.Idk why some accounts can't be replied to, but @Alter Ego , here's a sample of Gura's "real voice" dated years ago.
Most, if not all, of HoloEN do put on character voices but it dies over time like Calli
Kson looks a little weird without her "no make-up" make-up look, but by no means is she not not that pretty. Thicc, I agree. As far as we all know, she doesn't wear underwear and it shows in some cosplays (like the recent 2B cosplay stream)
Glad to see Pika is taking a long break, she has been working non-stop since I found her over a year ago. This is one of my favourite clips of herNot only is our beloved pirate taking a month off, so is Pikamee as well. She lived on a corn farm, so that places basically everywhere where there's a country accent. Given the slight twang she could have a more mid-atlantic accent as thats the one I lived around the most and sounds most similar to me.Marine going on a break again due to vocal issues makes me wonder about how much the EN talents are putting on a character voice and straining themselves, which I've heard is common practice for JP. I'm guessing that Kiara and Baelz are the most drastic, especially evidenced by Baelz's vocal range for karaoke, while Mori and Kronii are the least.
I also wonder whether Gura has a natural southern accent, or if it is just one she likes to put on because it's easy and fun.

Just tell them you'll give them a 50% cut of the ad revenue (no way they would get a cut of superchats), a shout out on the end card, and produce something that can be put on the channel. If the concern is people sticking around, having weekly or even more videos isn't that hard.
Oof when your Nippon friend has better EN tongue than yourself.I love how Pekora's English pronunciation was better than Moona's in some cases lol (e.g. trident vs treedent)
She was being vague about it but she basically said she's completely smooth, or just about. So the monthly body hair removal were a lie?! Unsub. /sneed
