I wonder if Fauna will get this as an actual outfit if it gets popular enough?
Tastefully cut out the best part of this image I see... gotta keep the thirstposting to a minimum.
Speaking of memberships, here's a discussion I'd like to have.
Who are you guys membered to and has it been worth it? I'm curious.
It took me a few months of watching vtubers before I decided to member any, but Gura was the first vtuber I really found and got into so not surprising she was my first one and is my longest tenured membership. I think hers has been worth it as she does a decent amount of members-only karaokes and zatsudans and just generally opens up more about stuff in her members streams. In her normal streams she gives off more of the gremlin energy, but members streams she channels her cute and charming side a bit more. No other Myth members have gotten me to be a full member yet, though I have been tempted by Ina and Ame from time-to-time.
For Council I ended up membering both Fauna and Mumei just because I enjoy them. Neither really do much members-only content that I care about, but it is my way of supporting them. Mumei does some interesting zatsudans where she just malds about stuff which can be entertaining though. In her latest one she really dived deep into her time growing up and how she relates to others, introversion, being "weird", trying to be "normal", failing at it, etc. that it feels like a lot in chat can relate to. (Myself a bit as well, but not nearly to the level she talked about.) Also it seems like she has really embraced being in hololive with her genmates and the rest of holoEN and found people she can actually be herself with, which seems to be helping her. Anyway, got off on a tangent there... If I remember correctly I briefly joined IRyS when hers opened up but dropped it after a few months. Bae I considered but decided not to. No interest in Sana or Kronii though.
For JP, I did member for a couple months to both Haachama and Chloe at different points, but I realize I got nothing out of it as they are primarily JP and as I've said I tend to have streams going in the background while I'm doing other things, so I got nothing out of their regular streams, much less members ones. Also for non-holo JP I membered with Alice Mana (sister to Ame), but again the language thing (and stream times) eventually caused me to drop it after a couple months.
Lastly for holoID, none ever got me to watch regularly so far, much less join membership, but ID3 will change that I think. I'm really enjoying watching Zeta and plan on joining when her membership opens up. She speaks a lot of EN like Ollie, possibly more than ID even, and her voice and personality is like a nice mix of Fauna/Mumei/Gura, which probably explains why I like her. Not sure her plans for members streams so we'll see how that goes and if it ends up being "worth it" or not, but like Fauna and Mumei I suspect I'll stay joined just as a way of supporting her, at least for a while.
As others have also said, I don't SC (so far), so membership is my way of giving those vtubers that I enjoy a nice recurring small amount without falling down the rabbit hole even deeper with SCs. Even with that I try to limit myself to 4-5 chuubas at a time so it doesn't build up too much.
And now Mumei joined, We're one rat short of a Council+Gura collab
Another great Minecraft collab that turned into mostly a just big chatting stream between them all. It's interesting that Gura seems to really get along with Council/IRyS better than Myth. Maybe it is just that Myth is established and doing a lot of their own stuff now (Calli's music, Ina's pro artworks, Ame projects, and Kiara being Kiara and just opposite time zones), but it just feels like she is more relaxed and chatty with Council than whenever I watch her collab with Myth or others.
On a side note, something I noticed again this stream - it is pretty funny and cute when they get done with what they were working on or doing that stream and start just chatting that they can't stay still in game. They are always running/jumping around, jumping up and down off stuff, climbing, etc in game. Feels like some ADD kid who can't sit still so they just run around with nervous energy all the time.
Gura related clip tax. No, those eyes aren't edited in by the clipper. Yes, she had that asset ready to go apparently so she could use them in the stream. Based boomer shark with Looney Tunes eyes at the ready!
edit: Just to add in your Daily Dose of Doomposting, Calli Edition - does bringing in alcohol to an interview at work with your boss's boss's boss (or wherever A-chan is in the heirarchy) count as another checkmark towards alcoholism? Can she just not live without it for a few hours and be serious? I'm guessing it is a pretty casual work environment but still...
