Zatsudans are often some of the best vtuber content. This isn't true for every vtuber, obviously, but some vtubers are at their best when they are just chatting and bouncing off of stuff that chat is saying. Selen is good at it. I also really like Elira's zatsudan segments (she often just chats for a long time after exiting a game), though admittedly hers may be more of an acquired taste since she's quite prone to going long tangents about shounen stuff or whatnot.

Guidelines for Clips​

Introduction

COVER Corp. (hereinafter to be referred to as "We", "Us", or "Our" as the case may be) has established these guidelines (hereinafter to be referred to as "clip guidelines") in regards to the creation of clips featuring our talent or video content provided by us so that fans may have the peace of mind to be able to enjoy our content in as many different forms as possible.

For clips making use of our content, please refer to both the clip guidelines and overall guidelines.

Should the clip contain any third-party IPs, copyrights, or such, please ensure that you follow the rights holder's guidelines and/or terms of use. Additionally, please understand that we will not respond to any individual queries regarding such guidelines and/or terms.

The clip and overall guidelines do not apply to clips featuring paid content, i.e. members-only videos, concert footage, etc. We forbid the use of such content unless express permission is granted beforehand.

Our Requests

Please comply with the following requests regarding the creation and uploading of clips, as well as the "Requests" listed in the overall guidelines.
  • Please list the following information at the start of the clip's description.
    • A URL link to the original source stream or video. (hereinafter to be referred to as "source")
    • The source's title
  • Please refrain from uploading clips before the source stream ends and the VOD is made public.
  • Please understand that we may initiate takedown procedures regarding a clip based on its content, thumbnail, and/or other factors.
Monetization

We will not interfere with the use of partner programs or creator programs on video sharing sites such as YouTube, Niconico, etc., any advertising revenue earned thereof, or any other monetization schemes offered by such sites, provided that the aforementioned guidelines, said sharing sites' terms of use, and all third-party guidelines are adhered to, and no IPs or copyrights are infringed upon.

* We forbid the registration of any created or submitted clips with Content ID, or any other automated identification system, as your own work.

Registration System

All individuals and/or groups involved in the creation of clips featuring our talent and/or content may register their clip channels with our company using the form linked below.

If you register, we will generally contact you using the details provided to receive notifications related to our clipping guidelines.

For instance, we will contact you to request a voluntary deletion before initiating any takedown processes, making it possible to avoid any penalties from the platform.

* There may be times that we initiate takedown procedures even if you are registered with us.

* If you do not comply with a deletion request within 7 days, we may initiate takedown procedures.

* We may cancel your registration with us depending on your clip content, thumbnails, or other factors.

The "additional notes" in the overall guidelines will apply.

Some TL;DR notes:
  • Don't release a clip before the stream is over, and the VOD is made public. It's probably inferred from this that you should not release clips of privated VODs.
  • Do not clip monetized content such as members only streams or concert footage.
  • Include a link to the full VOD and the title in the description.
  • Cover may take down clips based on their content, thumbnail, or other factors.
  • Cover will not interfere with monetization but you must not submit your clips to Content ID.
  • You can register your clip channel with them so they may contact you directly. This allows them to initiate a takedown without the clipper incurring a penalty on the platform (such as a copyright strike on YouTube.)

Registering would definitely a lot with channels. It'd be sad if this effects unarchived karaoke clips like you think it might. At least these new rules will make things better with clippers, like taking stuff down based on thumbnails (OtakMori perhaps) and focusing people to give proper credit.

That's fair. All of which are common criticisms of anime and manga. All I ask is that you have some faith that we're not doing any of that shit here. Just trying to document, discuss, and analyze. I don't think those starting arguments right now are being very bright.

I was just speaking in general. I'm not really bothered. I just want to calm null down and some are making that difficult. His concerns are understandable and I agree there should be zero tolerance.
It's clear though drive bys are playing into that anime = pedo nonsense and reporting anything the seems remotely a no-no because they're mad anime invade their safespace.

Okay, great, we can reach a compromise, which would be the original rules for the thread I laid out like a year ago.

The site is not a porn dump.
This thread is especially not a porn dump, because I don't want pedophiles on the site, and most of these characters look like middleschoolers at best.

So therefore, when I silently delete softcore porn from the site and leave a message saying that I've done so, maybe just deal with it. You can go to Pixiv and find porn. There is zero reason it needs to be in this thread as well.

I think if the context is that the official studio was putting it out or the model got leaked, it'd probably be okay for that discussion if it's just screencaps, but there was no such context to that post. It was literally just "hey some guy on 4chan's porn board is making porn of this character" so I literally don't even see the fucking problem.

It's just that the second you criticize this shit as being creepy and weird people come out the woodwork to defend their integrity (they don't have any) and start pulling cute trope defenses like "welfare of fictional characters" as if that's the point in contention at all. It's not the anime girls I'm concerned about, it's about my fucking forum being used like 4chan/8chan has been.
