The episode of HoloGra she appear in almost double the views of other episode, even Coco's last appearance (which strange enough have normal amount of views). I dont know where people are getting the idea that cover is some monolithic powerful company, especially back then.
They were nobodies with no money and no fame, why would she sign over the rights to her own character design, model and rig to be part of a nobody company? What leverage do you think they had when Suisei joined?
I'm sure they have those rights over later characters but it's very questionable for Suisei and I know for a fact they dont own Roboco's design, the original designer still owns the character, not cover OR roboco

I wasn't trying to say they were monolithic/powerful, just trying to explain what a rational/likely course of action would be. The leverage they have is the technology and resources they've since put to good use in essentially carving out huge sections of the market today. If it did not exist then why would Suisei want to join in the first place? Like you said it was an unknown, nobody company without the financial success it has today.

I don't mean they would try to big dick/strong arm these people into just signing over IP when I say acquire. If it happened there was likely some form of compensation rendered that wouldn't have been otherwise. If Hololive doesn't have control over the underlying IP, what value does any IP they create on top of it have if the talent decides to leave? It's highly customized and they couldn't use it elsewhere. Then the leaving talent has them bent over the barrel to pay anything for it. EDIT: Also what about IP they don't own in things like VODs? At bare minimum they would want to establish an ongoing license if the talent leaves. (end edit) It's the kind of situation any rational actor would try to take precautions against in negotiating. The simplest way to do so is to come to an agreement to buy the IP when you onboard the talent. Both parties have their own leverage and points of weakness in negotiation, the fact that a deal happened means that they managed to find mutually acceptable terms. It's about as fair as business gets from my perspective.

Roboco's situation is different because it involves a third party that neither of the first two can control. Even if the original designer rips off improvements, it'd be immediately caught out as a copy-cat. While it'd be nice to acquire the IP, they're cash-strapped at the time. Working off of a one-time exception to acquire desirable talent is a tolerable risk there.

And I thought I was the only one that noticed, she used to do streams like at this time once in a blue moon, but she did the same yesterday, Its 7:10AM in JST as I post this, so she might be getting up silly early to stream because it still takes time to prepare a stream out of the blue. I've noticed she quite enjoys the overseas company at this time as everyone else in Japan either asleep still or going to work or something along them lines now.

EDIT: I just looked at the time of the Tweet she posted for the stream. From the translation in the comments "I was making thumbnail and stuff and it has already been an hour…" so this implies she been up since like what 5/6AM. Or even just not slept at all. We shall see, maybe it just this weekend thing, will be keeping an eye on the times though.

Did also think it might be a weird thing of because EN at doing the AX anime things, she trying to catch some of the new overseas viewers seeing Hololive for the first time by also streaming at this time. But at this point I'm just making up dumb shit I'm sure.

Kiara has already shut down Holostars being on Holotalk before, and leans so heavily into yuri-baiting that I think she wants to rekindle the more pure idol-like reputation she couldn't pull together IRL. Ina is just awkward and Gura barely interacts with anyone.

Pretty sure she hasn't and actually said early on that they might be potential guests at some point. Though JP girls would come first.
Kiara doesn't strike me as someone who'd avoid those kinda collabs because of idol-convention, considering how jaded and critical she is in that regard. She's the type who ego-searches a lot and keeps track of fan interaction, so she'd know that her viewership is actually interested in those interactions.

Still not holding my breath ofc. Those collabs would be rare because time is limited and Kiara is interested in working with all the girls.

Adderall is super illegal in Japan, there was a news story about someone who had some in their system during a drug test and they got arrested and sent to prison even though they'd taken it overseas. It was also just referred to as "meth" in the articles.
