Okay, this is going to kinda be a big post. Let me begin with some context: remember when I tracked down all of the EN girls' Steam accounts months ago as I've mentioned here before? Well, there was one thing that I left out: I also searched for their roommates' accounts. I was largely unsuccessful with this, but I did end up actually finding one: Karen's.

At the time, I didn't really think it was worth writing up an entire post here for it since it's kinda irrelevant and unimportant. But, since there's now a bit of new discussion about Karen's accounts, I decided to go back and take another look at her Steam.

After taking a closer look at it today, I've just discovered something entirely new that hasn't yet been documented at all, at least to my knowledge: I found an undocumented alias that Karen went by for at least some period of time, as well as an indie game that she created art for under said name.

The Steam account in question is named kcalanii. Not only does this account have the last name from the doxes, it also has the custom Steam URL of "DemonDice". The account location also says she's from Texas. Here's the link, as well as an archive of the page from 7 months ago.

Now this is where things get super interesting. She is only a member of one group named Novel Tea. Their bio says this:

The first thing I did from here was follow the Steam Greenlight link to find more information, since the website appears to be down and I'm too lazy to go through their Twitter.

What I immediately noticed was that the art from the game looked suspiciously like Karen's early artstyle.

From here, I went to the Announcements tab and found the Kickstarter for the game as well as all an unlisted "Visual Novel" with 358 views on YouTube.

At the end of the video, the credits start to play (27:28 specifically). I thought I had reached a dead end when the character art was credited to someone named "Camomile" and not Karen, but I kept going because this was lining up too perfectly to just be a coincidence.

(Also, completely unrelated, but here's a list of 6 archives on the Wayback Machine of that webcomic she mentioned in her bio above. I haven't gone through to check if the comic pages themselves are still intact, so your mileage may vary - I just wanted to make sure it's here for posterity.)

So, TL;DR - Mori/DemonDice/Karen went by the name Camomile/Chamomile for at least some period of time. She made art for an indie game entitled Runeous that was developed by an indie team known as Novel Tea.

There might be more to find with this information, so do with this what you will. If I've missed anything, let me know and I'll edit this post to add the relevant information. But for now, I think I've had my fill of autistic investigating for today.

Apparently 障害 (shougai) is a slur. I can't find any evidence corroborating this, it seems to simply mean "disability," but I don't know much Japanese. As far as 障害者 (shougaisha) goes, it seems to be the equivalent of "handicapped" or "disabled person." Maybe they're misremembering and thinking of 片輪 (katawa,) which is a pejorative when applied to disabled people.

That doesn't matter though, the facts never matter with these people. Ally with these social justice types and they'll eventually eat you alive.

It's weird cause from the stats I used to look at the average game time has dropped by a fair bit, and I'm not really sure what gives it the feeling of a 30-ish min game feeling like an hour. For me it might have to do with really enjoying Nexus blitz and TT because of how quickly you get away from farming in lane, and with both of those gone ARAM just was too coinflipy to enjoy.

While Forza Horizon is the most popular arcade racing game, Asseto Corsa is a pure sim racing game. Still popular but usually for weird mods on Youtube and not exactly "mainstream" on the face value, and obviously less popular than any of arcade racing games.

Pure sim racing games are notorious to have a steep learning curve especially if you only plays arcade racing games previously.

I do agree that the games have gotten shorter (you can now end a game in 30-35 minutes where before it took 40-50) but the problem comes from the first 15 minutes just being the most boring shit ever during "laning phase". They have changed the game quite a bit yet the early game has stayed mostly the same for about a decade. Unless the streamer is really good at interacting with chat or actually really funny, streaming that game seems like a bad choice given how much dead time there is.

I am somewhat jealous of her and how much she has accomplished in so little time (shes around 25 right?). Feels like dumping all of my free time on shit like League and WoW (literal years of my life wasted on those two games) hasn't really been the most productive use of my time.

I am an introvert and having to rely on someone else to get a ride seems like the worst thing ever to me. I know that she probably doesn't have to leave her house much but still. Hell the idea of Uber and having to pay some random person drive me around seems like such a pain in the ass.
