Loot Crate and all similar services are a sham and the shit they're sending you is almost gaurunteed to be either:

1) Cheaper elsewhere
2) Low quality knockoffs of genuine articles
3) Both of the above

You could just be prepared instead of buying IV888888-brand CringeCans for a million dollars each.

DSarms (the guys who make modern reproductions and custom-built FN FALs- my personal favorite rifle) are apparently doing a Collab with Iraqveteran888 to sell the Man-Cans (AKA ammo boxes full of emergency medical supplies). Might be good to stockpile if the logistics crisis the US is facing gets any worse.
Just buy a kit off North American Rescue. They're probably cheaper than anything that shill would sell and actual quality gear.

Is there anything lolcow worthy about IV8888? I know he took down the video with his exceptional son and I remember the pdf of his shill agreements.
He's mostly just annoying, and there was mumbling about him and the gang abandoning Barry after he got a DUI - that lead to him dying alone - and waving his image around afterwards.

well, there was the Olight debacle and some murmurs of paid positive reviews, there was also the business partnership that was tangentially related where he kinda screwed over the partner.

Well this partially explains why Phagan is here.

Prior to WWSD, he lost me after agreeing to do a quick video on that Tokarev brake I found & sent to him. But when nothing happened & I asked about it about a year later he apologized, offered to pay for it, and then blamed the delay on his "creative process"..... which to me sounded a lot like lazy with extra steps.

But it's not just my own disappointment; this isn't a small shop, and we used to watch InRange mud tests & his milsurp 2G matches daily during lunch breaks. But his lackadaisical attitude/efforts have also turned several of my coworkers off of the earlier Brownell BR-180, as well as the WWSD when it was launching.

Those rifles were right in the wheelhouse for all these guys; but they missed the pitch entirely, or got finally caught up on WWSD right when complaints started showing up on Reddit; not arfcom, kiwifarms, Gunboards, etc.

And though they're all fans of Forgotten Weapons, Ian's face & holy powers weren't enough, everyone just ignores anything Karl features, regardless of it's merits. Hell, far as I know, I'm the only one still subscribed to his channel, mostly because I hope he does do the test video on that muzzle brake (even if he just chucks it downrange).

I certainly hope Russel can divest & find some new partners, and continue developing the concept into other designs. It's been over 20 years since I was working on molds in that industry, but I've never lost the interest I've had in the potentials.
Karl clearly reads this thread, basically confirmed after Russ showed up. You're never getting your toke break tested now, lol.

Phagan showed up because he knows if Karl starts posting here then Karl's getting his own thread and that will not help sell WWSD bullshit. Phagan might be on the spectrum but he knows not to tard rage online when you own a business.

Both are great but I suggest NAR to people whose credentials I'm not sure of because their website does a good job of breaking things up by skill level and use.

I understand, and at the cost of shilling, Kerry was a great instructor who broke really complex medical shit into "Bleeding bad, breathing good."

Dark Angel is kinda just the one stop shop for everything to me, however you can go cheaper with NAR given you're probably paying for parts and labor involved with building the slim kits.

Edit'

@SinistralRifleman okay so I got a question for you. Why is the Arizona firearm community such a bad joke? They've basically created this insane self contained bubble of insane hyper partisanship to the point that new shooters want nothing to do with it. Rather than appealing to moderates or people on the fence, they instead mix gun rights with fag rights.

I don’t think this is specific to Arizona. You just got a glimpse behind the curtain. The people that gravitate towards political activism are inherently not normal. They are out liers on the edges of either political wing. Normal people don’t want to be that involved because they have their own problems to deal with at work, at home, with their kids, or trying to improve their own lives.

I used to be more politically active working with local gun rights groups. The people became progressively harder to deal with, and being that politically engaged is psychologically and emotionally exhausting.

The same generational disconnects that exist in other areas exist in gun rights too. The older people on the boards at clubs, running events, or running organizations do not understand the younger generations and usually make no attempt to do so.

A real basic example of this is Boomers totally ok with dressing up as cowboys including villains, but freaking out at Millenials and zoomers showing up to matches as video game characters or historical opposing forces like the Viet Cong.

I had some fully decked out cowboy make a snide comment at me at the range “what are you guys doing out here ready for war?”

My reply “same sport, different century”

I get the impression that a lot of the posters here, particularly those with technical knowledge about weapons, participate in online discussions on the wider internet using different accounts.
I know people like @Club Sandwich and @Pocket Dragoon post about guns on other parts of the internet. That is not the same as Kiwi Farms being the headwaters for gun related rumors or whatever Phagan thinks. Even if the more connected/technical kiwis are the ones originating info, It would make sense for them to post it anywhere else first.

Well this partially explains why Phagan is here.

Now, if we're talking about being the headwaters for info that makes Karl look bad, I can 100% buy that. In fact, I'd be disappointed if we weren't.

I'm more asking because I worked in a limited capacity with ASRPA and AZ CDL and noted one of the younger activists started being angry with everything despite his best efforts. Someone's probably sent you the article on them at some point and he was a big speaker during the 2019 March for Our Rights deal. The AZ community from what I've observed is full of old people with a "Fuck you, got mine" attitude that seems to be entirely and completely detrimental to the community at large. If you go through my post history Russ, you can see the picture I've been trying to paint for others here as it relates to firearms.

"Fuck you, got mine" is truly the essence of the boomer. Expecting different from them in any sphere is a mistaken
