Prior to WWSD, he lost me after agreeing to do a quick video on that Tokarev brake I found & sent to him. But when nothing happened & I asked about it about a year later he apologized, offered to pay for it, and then blamed the delay on his "creative process"..... which to me sounded a lot like lazy with extra steps.
But it's not just my own disappointment; this isn't a small shop, and we used to watch InRange mud tests & his milsurp 2G matches daily during lunch breaks. But his lackadaisical attitude/efforts have also turned several of my coworkers off of the earlier Brownell BR-180, as well as the WWSD when it was launching.
Those rifles were right in the wheelhouse for all these guys; but they missed the pitch entirely, or got finally caught up on WWSD right when complaints started showing up on Reddit; not arfcom, kiwifarms, Gunboards, etc.
And though they're all fans of Forgotten Weapons, Ian's face & holy powers weren't enough, everyone just ignores anything Karl features, regardless of it's merits. Hell, far as I know, I'm the only one still subscribed to his channel, mostly because I hope he does do the test video on that muzzle brake (even if he just chucks it downrange).
I certainly hope Russel can divest & find some new partners, and continue developing the concept into other designs. It's been over 20 years since I was working on molds in that industry, but I've never lost the interest I've had in the potentials.
