He has a disclaimer for that. People seemingly like him because the other guntubers say rather clickbaity things about the ATF and gun laws so by not spelling doom and gloom people automatically label him as an authority.
 
Fuddbusters is okay I guess but the issue with his content is what @White Devil said: if he isn't licensed to practice in your state anything he says is pure conjecture at best. He's okay enough to watch but I mostly find his content boring since he mostly covers stuff that I already know.

Based on the comments, he attracts the standard balless conservative/libertarian types who talk a big game but then just watch their rights get taken away. I can't tell if he is naive or playing it safe for youtube based on some of the things he says because he seems very sympathetic to leftist movements. Here he is reading a SRA powerpoint and mentioning he is apparently the preferred guntuber of the SRA according to reddit.

I was in his discord for a bit and a lot of his libertarian takes were just... questionable, at best.

Hey, @SinistralRifleman! What's the whole parts list on that preproduction gun? Also, tell Ian to stop being such a cheapskate with his audio equipment and get a proper wind sock for his camera mic. Half his open-air videos are fucking unwatchable because of the wind noise, and it's really unprofessional for someone who's been doing this for over 7 years now

Also, was someone firing one of those coilguns at the range or something? What's up with all that audio interference? Did he just not plug the mic all the way in?

I don't think he's a bad guy and means well, but I've been around during his ramblings with dixieboo tendencies. His idea of dealing with trannies is just "ignoring them". As I said, I don't think he's bad and gives decent takes with his US state series, but his community attracts moderate to more extreme lolberts.

I sat through his interview with a guy who worked on the AA12 shotguns, it was a fascinating shitshow that taught me that the AA12 was in fact more even more retarded than it seems on the surface. Also got some insight on those goofy as hell Thunder-5 revolvers, and taught me that I should probably never ever shoot one of those with anything but light loads. Don't care if nobody has made one of those explode, I'm not going to be the first.

The AA12 is peak gun industry retardation all rolled into one story.

From the dude test firing his guns against a brick wall to calling the ATF on yourself to get the business partners in trouble this stuff happens separately all the time, but all in one tale was amazing.
