I'll give you the short version, there was a bit of wiggle when the upper and lower were assembled (he claims 1/8 inch of slop but it wasn't that much, he also claims he's "Never seen an AR like that" which is total bullshit lots of ARs have a bit of wiggle between the upper and lower) and he claims that due to the material properties of polymer the tolerances would naturally need to be looser and so you'll never get as tight of a lockup between the upper and the lower so long as the lower is polymer.

Which is a good indication that he doesn't understand the material properties of polymer, the polymer manufacturing process, or what the term "tolerances" means in a manufacturing context.

Edited to add: He also bitches that the takedown pins aren't captive and that they have the ball detente in them. He seems to think that they will not stay in place properly when assembled and that them not being captive means they will automatically go to the Single Sock Dimension as soon as the rifle is disassembled. He advocates buying spare pins. I'd be willing to bet that if he had a G3 in front of him he would have no issues with the pins on that but then again who knows.
So he's the target audience for wedge locks. Neat

I really couldn't ever stand nutn, he always seemed like a fantastic retard, but this is some hilarity. Hell I've seen Colts with the pony roll mark rattle like clapped out jeep wranglers. If you're in the market for a "tight" AR, you're buying something custom-built for competition made out of meteorite metal, not the WWSD rifle.

Speaking of, the WWSD was a neat curiosity when it was the purview of a couple of youtube gun nerds, not when it's a fucking marketing slogan and a rifle. Shoulda relegated the WWSD project to a BOM list for folks to build their own and avoided the controversy and not done sleazy marketing.

This. I thought WWSD was an interesting project back when it was just two dorks in Arizona experimenting with off-the-shelf parts and explaining their choices. It was a great starting point for conversations on what your perfect AR build would look like. Once WWSD became a premade product it just created legions of fanboys and haters and threw any productive discussion on the subject right out of the window.

I didn't turn sour on the project until I experienced the hive mind on places like Reddit when discussing WWSD. Had a FDE preorder I eventually canceled.

Still give props to Russell. Very few manufacturers are as embedded in the communities as him. Hell he's even here...

For me what killed my interest in getting one was the shift in tone from "Based on Stoner's preferences, and the theory of 'what would the most modern AR available look like'?" to "This is the ultimate AR15!"

.30 super carry is official

I’m curious who else will Vista Outdoors get to shill it. We’ve already had Mister above it all Ian shill for it cause it’s .30 French long with rifle pressures.
How long before bubba overpressures them with retarded loads and start blowing up guns not designed for that? I can't wait for the gun rags to start calling it ".30 Scary".

Having fans so passionate and vehement that they’re actually turning people off is a bench mark of success I never thought we’d reach. Now to move on to hype beast marketing. 😂

GET READY FOR THE DROP! We’re doing doing 100 Multicam black receivers for $999.95. Now accepting Credova!

On another note is there a thread going anywhere about the Donkey Slayer goons on Instagram?

Heh. I've got a couple of ARs that were built with plain-Jane Aero uppers and lowers that I damn near need a punch to get the pins started out on. My Aero M4E1 upper also pins snugly to the KP15 as well, with just the barest hint of wiggle - I'm curious as to whether that changes as the round count goes up.

I mostly did my KP15 build out of curiosity. It seemed like an interesting concept back when it was just Ian and Karl using those CavArms lowers (which were basically unobtanium), so when I could just preorder one from Brownells for $80 I said, "why not?"
