General GunTuber thread

I don't think they could have stopped Google,
lol

but they could have had a spine and gotten a mite of respect;
That would have made it worth it!

at this point I'm going to laugh when they get assfucked because I can't feel sympathy for "apolitical" gun owners who have much more influence than you or I ever will have.
-----------------------------------------
Anyone who refuses to grasp that deserves what comes for them
It's great that you're so embittered that you're apparently looking forward to defeat, that being divided and conquered is cathartic to you. It's one thing if they all completely ignored the problem, or licked boots and acted like it wasn't happening, but they recognize that Google is fucking them in the ass and that they have no recourse for this, they all repeatedly express their frustration whenever the thumbscrews are turned a little more, very openly. Many other kinds of YouTubers also do, not just guntubers, the noose tightening on speech and content has been chapping the asses of all kinds of different parts of the userbase, many with little direct overlap.

They also recognize, accurately, that there's nothing anyone can do to change Google's mind, and that for now, they are also the only game in town for video hosting. Things like Utreon is an attempt at an alternative, whether it's good and if it'll work out is to be seen, the big tech cartel will fight it, but I think that with enough means and will, it could be achieved one day, and maybe it'll never rival YouTube in sheer size, but something like that could get a foothold where it can't be brushed away.

Guns are inherently political because they're always trying to ban them and make you an outlaw for owning them.
True in one sense, but that thinking uncomfortably echoes liberal/leftoid mindsets born out of Stalinism, where any art or entertainment needs to serve a political purpose, so if you don't want trannies and "bipocks" shoved into all videogames and cartoons, you obviously want to kill all the troons, silence is murder.

Now, gun rights are obviously an incredibly significant matter for a number of different reasons, but forcing a subject as massive such as weapons, which have vast academic and recreational sides, to always relate to the the social and political, IS MENTALLY TAXING AS SHIT. It's not just Karl growing increasingly weird and cryptosocialist which made me unsubscribe to him, it's that he made it increasingly present and at the expense of his better content, nobody likes the constant activist.

Just like how people want to enjoy history, movies, music, comics, videogames, literature, and art, without having unsolicited social messages, token diversity characters, political agenda, and discourse shoved into it at every turn, there's people with an interest in guns who want to engage in the hobby angle without having to always be reminded of their struggle.
When I'm taking a shit, or when I'm cooking dinner, I want a bit of peace of mind, and if I'm looking at gun content content, I want to think less about looming threats, or being preached to in a choir. There's nothing inherently wrong with this, there's nothing inherently wrong with producing content which primarily strives for that.

The moderates and liberals aren't going to be widely swayed by Ian or Paul making frequent videos or segments espousing unrestricted carry, imports, and machineguns, and sadly, because other parts of the world are retarded, Ian would actually have things to lose by trying. Likewise, it's not like already pro-gun people need to be convinced of positions they already hold, and informed of things they already know.

I don't believe for a moment Google is running Youtube at a loss.
These days? Probably not, late night TV shows have sadly been reanimated online, and they're harder about monetization than ever, running more ads than ever before, but they absolutely did for a long time, they tried a lot of shit which didn't pay off at all, like the studio thing which nobody ended up using.

They control so much fucking advertising and data collection, that's where Youtube pays dividends, not to mention the social engineering aspects. They just compartmentalize profits so they can lie by claiming Youtube doesn't make money when they ignore all other revenue streams they use Youtube to grow, since the advertising metrics and personal data they scraped is qualified as a separate profit pool. That's not even getting into high level money that they're almost certainly getting from the U.S. government, China (like the Dragonfly project they absolutely never stopped working on), or massive investment firms like Blackrock for their "good" work. Loss my ass.
Those are good points, which further illustrate my own that this is virtually completely outside of the hands of YouTube's userbase, and this isn't something you can do anything about by just being a little more vocal. The U.S Government could even flip around on this on the spot, and this would be unlikely to change things for Google as they would find plenty of support from European powers, likely it would increase to compensate.

Demolition Ranch, Hickock 45, Paul Harrel, the list of guys who should have used their popularity as a platform for awareness just continues, and it's hard to pity any of them for finally ending up getting screwed when they lacked the spine to speak out.
Retard. There's already loads of guntubers that preach to the choir on 2A issues, such as Colion Noir, IraqVeteran8888, and Fuddbusters.

Lots of people want high-quality information about guns themselves. It doesn't, and shouldn't, be all politisperging all the time.

Saw this video from Tools&Targets about the conclusion to his ongoing problems with Sig customer service and firearms. Definitely made me reconsider wanting a p226.

Not surprising. They are getting too big too fast. I like my M17 and 226 but pretty much sold every other Sig I had.

I just don't trust I will be able to get parts for them a couple years down the line. Took 2 years to get a takedown spring for my P238. Not to mention I probably spend a total of 3 hours on hold to arrange a simple order. Got

They do a lot of generational fucker on the MPX that MAC highlighted as well. You might buy a "Gen 3" but they will mix and match whatever generation parts they have on hand.

My rule for Sig is to only buy stuff that the military is buying.

Speaking of which, where is the SPEAR in .277 Fury? They did a limited release where they charged $8k but there is no way that gun is worth more than $3k at the absolute most. I want an upper to throw on an AR-10 lower.

Probably going to be waiting quite a while for that. They've got a lot of work for the military that's going to take precedence.

10mm JHPs are downloaded because it improves terminal performance. With full power loads 10mm HPs shear petals and don't expand reliably. Which makes 10mm totally pointless funnily enough.
I had a tab left open on my phone from earlier and I see this post again.

I come to the realization that if true, that would mean these companies are loading hollowpoints designed for .40 S&W velocities in 10mm Auto cases, then finding this causes problems when actually trying to crank it up to proper 10mm speeds. Thus, they backtrack and softload them so that people don't get overexpansion with defensive guns (like some sort of Bizarro equivalent to Glock realizing that retards are hotrodding the Glock 22 in spite of the Glock 20 existing).

This does sound like the kind of non-commital halfassing which tends to happen to 10mm in the 21st century, so I would be unsurprised if this really was the case for some brands. With the lack of options for 10mm carbines, I guess it makes it easier to miss, too.

The Arfcom Karl thread is still going.

Kolektiva looks like a wonderful place for his message:

Karl has been posting "exit interviews" of Pateron subsribers who cancel.

The user Floridacop there keeps getting Karl "I'm done responding" to respond:

Funny how he usually doesn't include Kolektiva in that list....
Karl is a coward. If he really was open and honest about his beliefs he would be sharing them anywhere else other than twitter or Kolektiva. He only has the courage to fully go lefty where there are leftists echo-chambers so most his audience never gets exposed to the shitty person he really is.

Karl would come here to announce he is done responding, but he knows I will call him fat, which fills him with girlish dread!
Nah, if it became known he had a KF account for ANY reason, the pack would turn on him in an instant. That's how their insane purity circles work even though they're all hypocrites and probably do have accounts here.

I wonder what blowback Russell received, if any. Did he have to sit for an excorcism while a few trannies spirit cooked the energy of our thread out of him?

Considering he hasn't posted since the whole "even rapists deserve 2A rights" debacle, I imagine he is locked deep in a XXXL size amhole for his transgressions, being forced to dilate it night and day until the troon hive mind considers his penance done.

Somehow you guys manage to be less offensive than Arfkom is with their boomer logic and takes on everything.
That is probably because the worldview and epistemic framework used by many of the posters in this thread are closer to your own than you would be comfortable admitting in respectable company.

And also because deep down you know Karl is fat and you would not have sex with him.

Like how breadtubers have similar sentiments as national socialists and refuse to interview intelligent national socialists for fear of how their viewers will interpret it.

I agree those boomers and Gen X diet boomers are insufferable but why did Karl not mention that commie social media site on his latest reply? The based boomer FloridaCop (Hello faggot I know you read all of our gay shitposts!) actually exposed something I hadn't seen before. Also, I agree that Arfkkkom is full of literal Hitlers. Can't even post basic statements or facts without being banned there.

Just to clarify:
I was the first to pickup on Utreon and lured Ian in. This was because I had received yet another alt platform email. However, unlike the others, Edward had provided some context on his vision about improving over YT and how to handle moderation. He was keenly aware of their flaws on the technology/implementation side instead of just yelling about politics.

I convinced Ed to target Patreon first instead of YT, because frankly it is impossible to combat YT head on, feature for feature. Their network effects are too great. However, Patreon actually offers very little in terms of services. So, we market Utreon as a better Patreon and, in the process, are funding an eventual, gradual, YT alt. At the same time we get backup video hosting right away.

I promote Utreon bc it is in my best interests to do so. I want a stable funding site that won't boot me for working with firearms and coupon codes etc. I want a YT alt. Rumble is certainly an option but I actually started talking to Utreon before Rumble took off (at least before it was in my field of view) and I've never seen a macro, scalable strategy from them. They were still debating moderation practices and rules while surging. I've never heard from anyone at Rumble, nor do I understand their vision outside of the usual free speech platitude. I'm not opposed to using the platform, but haven't been lured in either. It's easier for me to work with someone I know. Ed has even shown up in person for the IV8888 rangeday in order to just meet some more creators and understand the firearms issue better.

As far as Utreon's UI problems, I agree with your points and have reiterated them to Edward. I recommend messaging utreon yourself as they are very responsive to public interest. They just spent the past month creating a whole rent/buy feature for a French channel that onboarded. They're eager to offer technical solutions as fast as they can afford to make them.

This exactly. I like Collin Noir. The man knows how to produce quality political gun content and gets to the point. But I can only take SO much. I can't take doomering 24/7. Most of the time I just want a gun review, whether it be something brand new, or Forgotten Weapons style and something completely old that I know nothing about. Some of the time I just want to research ballistics for ammo so I know I'm buying decent stuff, that's how I chose the Hollow Points for my pistol.
Point is there's a time and place for Politisperging. Every day is not it chief.

Sig has seemingly gone to shit over the past five or so years, sadly.

Still love my P226 but I doubt I'll ever get any of their newer offerings.
Sig has gone down the drain since the guy who fucked up Kimber became their CEO. Hence the P320 breaking parts a lot and going off in holsters by itself. Their optics division at least makes some decent shit though.
