The idea that regular dudes are going to be doing breach and clear stuff in the near future is very fucking low.
I’ve always found that kind of stuff to be hilarious.

If shit ever did hit the fan people sure as hell not going to be kicking in doors, why risk it when you can just throw a few molotovs on the roof/through the window?

If someone would actually talk about how down and dirty a civil conflict would really be, that would be interesting. Instead it’s just LARP, imaging that you’ll somehow survive, rather than ending up with your hands tied with wire, rotting in a mass grave with your head stoved in.

Exactly. The only reason you'd go in would be for hostage rescue, and if you do that you better be willing to die to save that person. If you're not trying save someone, set fire to the building and shoot whoever tries to escape.

Russians are now clearing buildings with anti-tank mines.

He was actually pretty controversial at one point. Cokeman2423 ran a Skype group dedicated to trolling him and his followers, people made response videos about him and at some point somehow a pic of his stillborn ended up online.

I'm going to hell for reposting this lmao.

You know I was getting confused when I heard you guys talking about nutnfancy, I was like... where did I hear that username before? And then I remembered I watched exactly one video of his and it was this abomination.
"I got the bull-barrel model of PTR-91 and it's heavyyyyy!" He might possibly have gotten the worst G3 clone known to man and still did the review based off of it.
Edit: I loved him comparing it to the SCAR-H, like that's at all a fair comparison. At least the G3 wasn't destroying optics when it was released though lol.

All those gov pistol quals are laughable. It's one of the reasons every police shooting has an absurd number of rounds fired. One of my childhood friends became and FBI agent and I can still shoot my Glock way better than he can shoot his.

I'm not sure the average gangsta has ever shot at a target, so I guess they're still ahead of the curve.

Rifle qualification for standard grunts, pistol qualification for grunts, police, whatever... They are what they are because there's a lot more to those jobs than shooting, not enough resources to train shooting, thus the qualification is just a bare minimum standard. It is what it is, and it's a universal problem around the world.

There is probably not even enough time for the people who really ought to know how to shoot (SOF, SWAT etc.) to train enough shooting on their job time. Either they have other things to do, or other stuff to train for. Usually some personal time needs to be invested.

Still, also has to be said. It's a lot different when shit hits the fan for real vs what you have in your mind when training for said incident. With proper training, you are able to react better. But still it's different, when the paper target actually shoots back at you.

Also, a lot of people are probably taught to shoot until the target is neutralized. Neutralized doesn't mean you asses whether or not the target is incapable of shooting back after you hit him. It means the target stops fucking moving.

Preparing for asymmetric warfare by aping the tactics and equipment used by US SF backed with the entire might of the government/military-industrial complex in Afghanistan and Iraq in a manner that completely failed to crush the respective insurgencies will never stop being funny . There's a reason why this is an iconic image from the Troubles:

How exactly was Iraq a failure? Last I checked the government we put in power, is still in power. We still have bases there, for example.

I think at the very least, studying the methods, equipment, and thinking of your most likely opponent is a good idea. Understanding, or getting an idea how the federal or state governments are going to respond to a local insurgency will go a long way to fighting them. Which leads to the point, were the tactics, training, and gear to blame for the failure in Afghanistan; or was the strategic thinking, remoteness of the region, and culture that led to the failure, and withdraw?

Door kicking will always be useful. Maybe not as useful as advertised, but you won't be blowing up/burning down every building turned into some strong point. Likewise, as I mentioned above understanding how your opponent is going to do something, like door kicking is useful in determining the best response. Maybe I can't fight them when they come through the door, so I best have the building rigged to go, and be away when they come in, for example.

Any cop or soldier who cares about shooting well seeks outside training, because they're almost certainly not going to get it on the job. One class I attended had several cops at it, a couple of them on the local county SWAT. It was obvious those guys cared about being proficient shooters. It was an interesting experience. I had one them asking me if I had any interest in a law enforcement career 😆

Agreed. I think taking CQB classes has value, since those skills might come in handy during a burglary / home invasion, but you shouldn't be going on the hunt for someone if you don't have to. Get your family members into one room and call the cops. If the intruder tries to enter the room, engage. Other than that, EDC CCW classes have the most value to regular guys.

For the price of one nice set up view tactical LARP you can buy all of these things and be much more effective if guerrilla warfare you can't oppress people if you can't drive your trucks down every major American highway.

The Taliban really didn't fight the United states military that much they just made it so they can't leave their bases
books like the brigade actually get what a second American Civil War would look like a lot better than these idiots a lot of bombings by the freedom fighters and then when they take over an area a lot of clean up duty of people who disagree with your politics as well as the federal allies hiding up in fortified bases

  • That M-14 copy that Ruger tried to make in the 80s. It even got reviewed or at least advertised in Soldier of Fortune
  • Sidewinder submachine gun from the 80s that was written about in the early 80s. The designer wanted to arm women and children with it to fight the Soviets after WWIII started.
On the topic of guns that Forgotten Weapons could cover, a couple months ago I was reading an old Soldier of Fortune magazine archive and found this interesting gun that I’ve found absolutely zero other information about:

Obviously I don’t even know if physical copies of this gun are still around, but it’s become a bit of a white whale of mine.
