It's funny, he gave an interview where he said that he'd never write Father Ted now because he hates the Catholic Church due to its stance on abortion. But he'll bend over backwards to defend Islam, because when Muslims carry out mass shootings it's nothing to do with religion and Not All Muslims, but when it's the Catholic Church doing something that bothers him personally they're the worst thing ever and they're all shit. Don't get me wrong, I'm pro-choice but the difference between abortion opposition and killing in defence of your faith is night and day.

How fuckin dumb is that.
It was a parody laughing at the church, its incompetence and it portrayed most of the Bishops and higher ups as deviants.
Disliking something is the best reason to level satire at it.
Theres even a few jokes in their about the church and abuse and its position on contraception.

So earlier this evening Sargon got into a Twitter fight with Robert Webb of all people by saying that he'd played a misogynist on Peep Show. Of course, it took no time at all for Graham to wade into this one.

Ah yes, Lineham is very obsessive in keeping track of his big list of enemies. While even most of the more pathetic and bored SJW e-celeb types tend to ignore the existence of those they have rageblocked, linehan is fanatical in keeping track of them FOR LITERAL YEARS and hurling himself into any discussion of them he finds when he namesearches them. All while keeping them still blocked. This is why he has spent 2 solid years foaming at the mouth with rage over folks like Milo and Sargon, and still goes out of his way to whine about them long after having blocked them.

As said before, I strongly tend to suspect he has some form of dementia or autism that causes him to become so cringeworthily obsessive and angry about folks who disagree with him on twitter. When even brianna fucking wu is looking sane and well adjusted compared to you (and that is not a statement I make lightly) you just gotta have something fucked up in the head.

I mean say what you like about her, she aint dedicated her life to throwing tantrums about milo and other high profile GGers.

He is another cow. Here's his Twitter. He's one of those people running with the narrative that the person who killed Jo Cox shouted "Britain First!" So is Graham for that matter.

EDIT: Turns out he said something along those lines, but they were still exploiting her death for political reasons.

I personally think that the OP should update the thread starter post to include Linehan's actual achievements in the world of media (creating Father Ted and The IT Crowd) so people who come in late to this thread don't have to go through a few pages of Kiwis chattering about BritComs.

Graham Linehan. How the mighty have fallen.

Even before Father Ted he worked on the hilarious RL trolling that was The Day Today ("THIS IS THE NEWS.") and Brass Eye ("I'm talking Nonce Sense!") alongside Chris Morris. Then he did Father Ted and then The IT Crowd, all of which were pretty epic.

But what's he done since then? Even the last couple of IT Crowd episodes were not that funny in all fairness. He's a has-been trading on past glories and this idea about how he wouldn't dare make a satire of Islam is unfortunately common amongst comedians, mainly because they don't want to end up like Salman Rushdie (who was thrown to the wolves for writing an admittedly unreadable novel which was critical of Islam; the fact that politicians thought he brought it on himself is, to my mind, disgusting, frankly) or be dogpiled by the regressive left and boycotted to infinity. There's also the whole "punching up / punching down" dichotomy which is a false one; it's hard to say that Muslims are as a whole powerless when they rule some of the richest countries in the world with whom the West does arms deals for their oil willingly.

Chris Morris sort of went down the Islam satire road with Four Lions, I suppose, which was rather amusing, but the butt of the jokes were the incompetence and stupidity of the terrorists.

Was Linehan on an episode of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe? I have a funny feeling he was but it's been years since I saw Screenwipe so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
