Here in the USA I talked to a guy who is in a position to know things. He seemed pretty confident that the hardships plaguing the poor (high cost of living, few jobs, low wages) are going to continue for the foreseeable future.

If you have a job, try to keep it. Be thrifty with your resources. Watch out for robbers who aren't as responsible as you are and want your stuff.

This has been the case since 2008. There was a brief period from 2021-2022 where people could job hop to higher earnings but many of those job hoppers are the first on the chopping block when it comes time to layoffs. This is basically the new normal for the untermenschen. There has been a dedicated effort from employers to punish employees for that brief couple of years where employees had a little bit of leverage on employers and they’ll never let us forget it.

There are a lot of people who have essentially peaked relatively early on in their careers. I see LinkedIn feeds a bunch of people out of work for over a year still rambling about how #blessed they were that they had their last job and how they haven’t given up hope yet, even though you can tell how desperate they are to find something, anything. Lots of responses from people feigning sympathy and copying in various recruiters but no job opportunities. Basically the employment equivalent to “thoughts and prayers.” Sometimes they’re people who were overpaid at their last job and refuse to work for anything less than $250k a year as a diversity consultant but there are people with actual skills who aren’t asking for huge salaries that are still struggling. These are not good times for a lot of people and 2024 is not going to be a good year for them.

I wonder how long until reality sets in and they realize they got useless training for useless jobs that aren't coming back, and sure as shit aren't coming back for 250-500k a year starting. What'll happen when the AWFLs and the rest of the Email Caste realize the economy is bad for both the Forgotten Caste and the Email Caste, but for them it's not bad, it's fucking GONE.

Should be interesting. Since we appear to be mimicking the 70s I fully expect rationing to start as Biden (or whomever Obama's 5th Term is) forces price controls followed by Antifa trying to use pipe bombs to force a marxist revolution.

No shit, literally anyone could predict that.
Honestly, the fact that this is the upper boundary for violence just shows me how much room there is for violence in the USA.
It's a good thing the people who want to get violent are all incompetent retards.

For me it wasn't what was said, but who was saying it. If better times were just around the corner, he would know and would have said so.

If the citizens start rioting, one thing will be certain. They will NOT attack those who are actually responsible, they'll trash out their own neighborhoods then cry because everything's broken and they're still poor.
Happens every time.

Yeah, that's my point. No one needs an "expert" to tell them this, they can just go to the grocery store. I'm not sure what your general point here is, you're just saying the same crap people have been saying for decades now.

Quit my 6 figs tech job in September to deal with family and health issues. I made the right decision and I don't regret it. Pretty much describes me to a T. Not really sure what to do now. It was fun while it lasted, but being realistic my career is pretty much over now. Applying online is pointless as 1% of applicants get to an interview. Plus everyone is switching from AWS to GCP because they are bribing everyone. Everyone expects 3 years GCP experience even though they've been a minority player for the past 3 years.

In mild anecdotal updates, I think some US grocery stores are trying to cope and deal with how dumb prices are by offering a lot of bundles and sales so they can secretly thumb their noses at their suppliers. Since the modern megamart gets paid theoretically due to all of the supply credits and insurances at play even if they bought product and directly threw it into the trash at this point. And they're tired of people coming in pissed off and on their last nerve.

IE: You can't lower the prices on THESE ITEMS below THIS suggested value... But they didn't say they couldn't do weird things like buy 2 (At the hiked price) and get 3 free.

Publix certainly seems to be doing this. I've been seeing a lot more BOGO sales than usual on a lot of name brands that normally don't get discounts like that. Stuff like name-brand cereals, frozen dinners, soups and so on.

Not that I'm complaining. I don't buy much of that kind of thing, but I'll always be happy to stock up on yummy soup.

There's not enough starvation for the real violence to start yet.
We slew god and replaced it with ideology. Now we've slain ideology with copious consumption.
The question now becomes, what shall consumption be replaced with?

This may fall under “ideology” but I feel like environmentalism/green is the next thing to be pushed. Now, it’s already a big thing, but I think more radical versions will become more common. Living people create pollution/carbon so celebrate the removal of people in the name of green. Full on death cults with suicide being mainstream and shit like that.

Just lie. Amazon, Azure, Google work usually ends up amounting to you interacting with a whatever gui the company bought doing the same sort of shit. There's a reason these backend jobs get handed to indians who cheated through school and can barely read their own language yet nothing ever seems to go wrong. I know you need the proof you gave Google your moneycerts but just tell them "oh my old ones expired and I'm refreshing them" and distract the interviewer with jargon. If you worked on one of these before then just look at some shitty udemy lectures to learn the very minute differences. Things are so bad that lying to get a job is really your only option.

Violence, you know the answer already. Just ask what rome's bread and circuses were replaced by. People flock toward strong men in bad times. Even moreso if the strong men do horrible unspeakable acts to the people responsible for the bad times.

It's already in full swing in Chinada, with them trying to push other nations to do the same. Make health care wait times so long that people die of easily treatable diseases, and offer MAID as a the "go to" for health care.

Soybean prices are falling, probably because of suppressed demand in China. This is in spite of the negotiated Biden-Xi deal. Previously it was being held up by Brazil being fucked weather-wise. I wonder if the deal was a attempt to shore up support for both sides (Farmers in the US, consumers in china) without collapsing the price entirely or spiking it to high hell. The world wonders.
