Good wii games?

hack that shit and play MadWorld with a wbfs from Vimm's Lair.

You should hack it and get infinite games. It takes like 30 minutes

Seconded, letter bomb that shit and get a couple large HDD's to store your games. There's games that are seriously expensive now that were great and you're better off just having uh, completely legal backups for your owned games *WINK WINK*.

I hope OP has hacked his fucking Wii, you can put pretty much anything before whatever generation the PS1 gen is on there. Some N64 and PS1 games work as well. Gamecube and Wii games obviously work.

Sin and Punishment 2: Star Successor is my favorite obscure Wii game. It's like Starfox but crazier, and anime style instead of furries. The Wiimote's IR pointer controls are perfect for this sort of game. Highly recommended.

Also do yourself a favor and don't play Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. The game was balanced around having a lot of aim sway to make enemies hard to shoot precisely and the IR controls make it WAY too easy.

If there's any possible way of doing so, get World of Goo. I've been playing on PC lately and it is awesome.

Here’s a few that I’m assuming people haven’t mentioned yet.

Tenchu: Shadow Assassin
Wario Land: Shake It
Rodea the Sky Soldier
Sonic Colors
Tatsunoko vs Capcom
The Conduit and Conduit 2
Ghost Squad
Excite Truck
Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes
Samurai Warriors 3

There’s also a ton of good compilations you can get for cheap:

Kirby’s Dream Collection
Metal Slug Anthology
Samurai Shodown Anthology
SNK Arcade Classics Volumes 1 and 2

Not an amazing game but the wii version of force unleashed 2 is pretty alright. In fact some people say it’s better than the ps3/360 version. One major downside is the awful multiplayer which is the one area in which the otherwise awful wii version of the first game comes out on top.

One more vote for RE4 and the Metroid Prime games. I'll say that if you find that Wii-ified traditional FPSes to be up your alley, Red Steel 2 was already mentioned, but I don't think Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: World at War have been mentioned yet. Using the Wiimote is definitely a more fun way to play these over using a standard console controller. But if you're like me and prefer sci-fi-style FPSes over military ones, there's The Conduit and its sequel. Unfortunately The Conduit 1 is hard to find and The Conduit 2 is really hard to find nowadays.

Also, the Super Mario Galaxy games are fun if 3D platformers are up your alley, and my wife and I had a lot of fun playing New Super Mario Bros co-op together.

Super Paper Mario is probably one of my favourite games ever but it's definately a "love it or hate it" kinda game.

It's also probably worth checking out the wiiviewr archives for a chronological compendium of game reviews.

I kinda respect the Wii. While it's motion controls mostly sucked I really enjoyed the lo-fi 3d it produced.
(That and seeing Wario in a contemporary (for the time, this was the 2000's) anime style was fucking awesome)

Off the top of my head:

Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Madworld
The Conduit
Zak and Wiki

Do gamecube games count? If so I can blow another cumwad on shit nobody cares about.

There's also a Captain Rainbow translation that's supposed to be complete but the dev scrammed before it got released and the only released version is still heavily unfinished.

Edgy opinion: Metroid: Other M is a fairly good game.

I think it suffers from bad writing and/or localization; for example, the part where adults in a military-like group would use the thumbs-up gesture as some sort of salute, so that Samus could use a thumbs-down one instead. That could have come across less weird if everyone just did a standard forehead salute instead but Samus would just refuse to salute. And lore-wise, IIRC, Samus was really freaked out by seeing Ridley despite having fought (and defeated) him several other times in previous games in the canon. But that aside, the gameplay was very faithful to the 2D games in the series. Maybe that's not what gamers wanted so soon after the Prime series pretty much redefined the Metroid experience, but I still found it to be fun in its own right.

All this is to say that if you enjoyed any of the other 2D Metroid games, don't let Other M's bad reputation keep you from giving it a try.
