I think it should be a requirement in first year engineering classes to have to write a paper along the lines of "why I will not make public or semi-public inflammatory statements on any subject in a manner that connects my words to my employer."

I don't know about software engineers, but mechanical engineers seem to do this shit all the time.

How do these "journalists" square the fact that "alt-right" only referred to a small number of self-described, literal white supremacists and neo-Nazis before Hillary Clinton redefined it in a campaign speech and yet now they keep casually using it in headlines and articles to describe every non-leftist they don't like? Why would they do that?

Oh, right.

Oh, right.

"Alt-right" is just a snarl word, an epithet to attack anyone not in the in group. I've been unironically called alt-right repeatedly, over and over again, and I'm a fucking socialist, although damn near a centrist by most political tests. I'm too distrustful of the state to be that sincere a socialist, though.

Really I thought they would've said it was Gamergate :P

Todays word of the day winner is - The Guardian!

http://archive.is/lHLGV

Google cancelled a company-wide meeting on Thursday after several of its employees became targets of a Gamergate-style campaign of harassment by internet trolls angered by the firing of an engineer who had written a controversial memo about diversity.

Everyone who is concerned about creeping McCarthyism in the tech industry is alt-right. Just like how the ACLU is alt-right for defending Milo.

Take my salt.

Social skills: how to have a fucking job, a study.

@CatParty Slow down with embedding a dozen video links in every post. I know you don't watch them all, so the salt is probably weak. Even worse is that those on mobile or lower end devices get sluggish page loads. If you're going to do this, at least put it under a spoiler tag, you sperglord.

It's super salty!

What, did you think all those onsite laundromats, daycares, free gourmet food, and rec rooms were there out of generosity? Fewer reasons for employees to leave the Googleplex.
No you misunderstand me. Im from Alabama, a state notorious in thw Union regarding our....interesting labor laws.

And even the smuggled in Guatemalans would fucking riot if they were denied overtime pay. And everyone would help them. Maybe even give them citizenship. Thats...just beyond me.

I think.............

You suck.

Stop that shit.

I agree

At least spoiler that shit. But Catparty is one of the original shitposters and he don't give a fuck.

Like Honey Badger.

Why have you not called me back yet???

I left like 35 messages.

I am worried!

I think the guy fucked up at writting that shit. Fuck if he's right or not, he should go back to highschool to learn to write a fucking essay, god, he went by so many tangents to try apologize his mild mannered alt-right crusade he just ended up pissing liberals more than addressing the fucking issue of diversity cuota/Liberal politics bias in Google inc.
It should've been something like this.
Regardless of the issues and problems women have faced troughout the years to enter in STEM fields this only regards to Google having a diversity cuota bias instead of appealing to meritocracy. Not to mention the Neo-Liberal consensus that blocks any other ideas from more right lenient opinions.
Cite something from the Youtube salt thread, the ADL partnership and such and have it leaked.
That's all he needed.
