Google Image removes View Image button and Search by Image feature - All because of Getty Image

https://searchengineland.com/google...view-image-button-search-image-feature-292183
Google has removed the View Image button and the Search by Image feature when viewing an individual image within Google Image Search. Google announced this change on Twitter, saying:

Today we’re launching some changes on Google Images to help connect users and useful websites. This will include removing the View Image button. The Visit button remains, so users can see images in the context of the webpages they’re on.

The Search by Image button is also being removed. Reverse image search *still works* through the way most people use it, from the search bar of Google Images.

This seems to be in direct response to the concession Google made with Getty Images a few days ago around helping reduce copyright infringement through the popular search engine.

Here is how the feature looked before the change:

Here is what it will look like when this fully rolls out:

Also, notice how the “copyright” disclaimer is more visible within the search results.

Fuckin' Getty. "Nobody wants to pay 500 bucks for an unwatermarked image? Must be google's fault, better inconvenience everyone else just so we can cash a few more checks!"

Probably because they keep hiring on more web designers just for the sake of having them around, so in order for them to earn the paychecks they've gotta keep moving shit around and "fixing" what's not broken to make themselves look more productive.
I don't think having 2 employees with threads here, one in the legal area and one in the main lolcow forum, is a good sign for the company.

This is one of the stupidest things Google has done. Glad I use Yahoo
Too bad Yahoo is technically dead now because it's now just a skin for Bing.
(Unless the company that bought yahoo and made that change in the first place changed it back to normal Yahoo and I missed the news.)

Fuck Google. Use TinEye for your reverse image searches. There has to be a browser add-on for it by now.

EDIT: Wait, reverse image searches aren't disabled. So this only applies to a virtual button?

Who cares? Drag and drop the image into the search bar.

All these shitty tech companies have to change things constantly so it looks--to the end user, to their stock holders, and to everyone else--like they're doing something substantial instead of stagnating. I'm sure it has more to do with brand awareness (a changing interface will never "fade into the background" and become invisible for the user) than it has to do with actual upgrades.

I mean, why else would Facebook constantly change their interface and upset their users? To stay "relevant." Even if it alienates people.

It's time to get rid of Google.

Also if think think current Google is the Google that came up with the search engine look at this:

https://kiwifarms.net/threads/kevin-batman-lucia-batman-freyasspirit.38344/page-3

It's about a psychopathic tranny named Kevin Batman and his troon Google buddies. Google is now populated by utterly insane psychos who are either just troons or think they're literally snakes and want their arms chopped off.

I'm not even making that up, one of the sick psychos who got that Damore guy fired literally thinks he's a female snake and wants his arms chopped off so he can be a snake.

In the early 20th century, people like them were given padded rooms.

In the early 21st century, they're given jobs in tech companies.

I just re-read my post and realized that while it read like hyperbolic exaggeration it was just the unvarnished facts.

How the fuck is this the world we're living in?

Like Pirate said, it only gives you the thumbnail.

"Copying Image Location" then pasting the image link works, it gives the full image.

There's always a print screen button on the computer. Copy and paste it that way, just edit the image.

The snake tranny doesn't work at google. He's just friends with a lot of google employees and met Kevin in real life, presumably for booty sex. He seems to be unemployed.

Tech companies with ballpits.

> company has a ball pit

> employees cut their balls off

An unemployed tranny?!

I'm still pissed about Google Image Search's algorithm being changed over explicit material. I have to use Bing to look at porn, for fuck's sake!
